Markos1: Nigerian food can be seen Depending on which of the food you want. I really do need that. I'll be looking out for spots though. Ugo and Timbuktu, you've been helpful. What if one wants to attempt Ghana and Togo from Cotonou? Is it a tumultuous ordeal? |

Timbuktu14: Yes. After crossing the boarder, take a cab going to Tokpa. Drop at the last bus stop and take 'Kekerio' (bike) to Jon K (Jonquet). Right at that spot where the bike would stop you, just ask of the big hotel around there. Has a small entrance like its a super market.
There's another one at St.Jean. Do you understand or can speak a bit of French? Would make the trip a lot easier for you. Thanks thanks man. |

Timbuktu14: There is this big hotel at 'Jon K'. It was 13,500 CFA the last time I went - December, 2015. WIFI? Yes. Breakfast? Yes.
To cap, it's right at the city centre... Very nice rooms with nice staffs. If you fancy our local foods, they are right behind the hotel. Forgot the name though. Decent! Exactly the sort I'd need Timbuktu14. JonK is a popular spot there? So can I easily ask when I land and I'd be directed? More contributions needed also. |

Hello people. Fantastic thread on here. This is what a helpful thread looks like and thanks to all contributors.
For me, I'll like to enquire about hotels in Cotonou and their cost. I'm looking to stay about 5 days and want a serene place with WIFI that's cost friendly and not far from the city centre. For those on here who have been at decent ones, kindly help with contact or location direction.
Secondly, what pays me more - Dollar to CFA or Naira to CFA...
I await contributions. Thanks! |

elektra: I have no desire to return at all. I can invest from here, living in Nigeria is a lot of unnecessary hard work. Hehehe! "unnecessary hard work". Never thought of it this way before. Your decision is understood though. I work here with the idea of relocating eventually. Well, It's my pleasure connecting with you here. |
Health › Re: Audiology & Speech Pathology In Nigeria by Eghosa1(m): 11:08pm On Feb 26, 2017 |
elektra: Right now financial restraints does not give me the freedom to explore, but I am working towards building a non-lab career after my studies. It is getting more difficult for international students over here, I have an assistantship so I don't feel the burn right now, but many of my international student colleagues had a hard time finding their desired job after school. All in all, I'm still grateful for the opportunities molecular biology has afforded me Here's hoping you accomplish all you set out for. Finding Desired Jobs in today's fast paced world is a tall task truly. One advice will be to be seek assistantship positions (could be unpaid) such as yours as it can be a leverage for them nonetheless. Do you ponder about returning to set up something? |
Health › Re: Audiology & Speech Pathology In Nigeria by Eghosa1(m): 10:28pm On Feb 26, 2017 |
elektra: No, that is not what I mean. I feel I am striving in molecular biology. I like it but sometimes I feel I don't enjoy it enough for a career. I think I might enjoy a patient based/focused medical career better. From your words, I agree. You seem to patient focused rather than research or lab based. Any chance you will actually do what you love? And by the way, how's USA coping especially with Trump? |
Health › Re: Audiology & Speech Pathology In Nigeria by Eghosa1(m): 7:42am On Feb 26, 2017 |
elektra: No, but I sometimes wish I did. I moved to the US and kept on studying molecular biology. I sometimes think about making the switch to an allied health career. That's fine then. You still play in the medical field nonetheless. When you was say switch, do you mean you're not fully utilizing your potential with molecular biology? |
