Ibk2020: Excellent. Any solution other than this is not a solution. Thanks Rotecch77. History will be nice to you. 2 Likes |

msogunro: I haven't found one yet but rumor has it that the Indians have the market cornered in Ibadan at least. In terms of quality of work and honest pricing. That's the route that I'm going when I come home. I've been quoted $350 to $450 for mine. But I don't desperately need water on this project. Good luck Sir. Fence looks great. What cement are you using? 1 Like 1 Share |

allCopacetic: In fact, I feel stupid for not thinking of it sooner. I was focusing on the switches and light bulbs. |

To whom it may concern. We of the Los Angeles chapter, though aware of, but we do not get involved with domestic NCAN activities. We focus solely on international activities, especially in the Indo Asian region. Thank you. We now return you to the ongoing bashfest 4 Likes 2 Shares |

msogunro: Personally, I would trust the judgement of the local artisans on the ground. I did. You're building a fence on rock solid ground and not building Cocoa House on swampy land. They don't even need to carry the double wall past the level of the soil being retained. 6 Likes |

msogunro: I won't know until I actually start living in there to calculate the loads. But I'll have extra panels on hand and will bang them in as needed or as a replacement for faulty ones. There are manufacturing industries here in the USA that are operating totally on solar. Line electricity has absolutely no advantage. |

abdulwastecx: I disagree on a few points. 1) Weight-precast lintels that we use here are very light. Definitely lighter than the granite infested lintels that we have in Nigeria. High strength cement with stone dust should give the same result. Granite is heavy. It doesn't need to go too far on top of the properly made block of correct composition. We mostly have shyte for blocks at home. You need a concrete saw to cut blocks here. Two men should be able to carry a lintel that spans most regular doors and windows. If push comes to shove a simple hoist system can be rigged up like the Ghanaians. |

msogunro: Thank you for the link, very useful. I learnt quite a lot and I'm still on #15 of over 30 videos that he posted. 1) I consider solar instal as part of finishing and I MUST be on ground for each stage. I cannot trust another person to execute my ideas to a precise level. 2) I intend to keep busy by replicating what I have in my house for others later on during my retirement. Things like off grid solar power and total home automation. Experience, as they say, is the best teacher. Thanks for keeping me in mind Sir. Edit: one thing I learnt and that became immediately useful for me was that I never thought of putting my fridge on a timer. If you think of it the fridge is on 24/7. Why? Mine is now off from 10pm to 6am as controlled by my home automation system, were all asleep then and no one is opening the fridge so it'll stay cold. So it's off in a third of the day. I monitor the electrical consumption in my house and I'm looking forward to my electrical bill in two months to compare. Again, thanks for sharing.

kopell: I say the following with no malice intended but I'm not responsible for how you interpret it. 1) I've long been a homeowner, many times over. I continue to give thanks. 2) I don't want anything to do with my neighborhood except to contribute to any and all social amenities that they create and that makes sense. I want my family and our house to blend into the landscape as if we're not there. Remember, it's a retirement. 3) I am who I am. I am uniquely me and anyone that doesn't like who I am or how I am should recognize that Asejire Dam is not fenced. Seun has over a million members, I ask those that I bother to go find someone else that has the mannerism they enjoy. I am EgunMogaji aka EgunAnigilaje, and I am too old to "change" so I can cater to the whims of others. 1 Like |

I'm dissapointed that this building hasn't sold in over a year and for only N9m Is it bad marketing or the economy is that bad? |

hssl: Why not post on here? OP, Nest is only $99 online (Amazon/eBay) and you don't have to email for silly quotation. It's also a carbon monoxide detector which is actually the real killer, not fire.
