Ho, I have been on call with one of our cousins, who happen to be in Anambra and installs gps trackers too. I have sent the vehicles Google link location to him. And he is already on his way to Nanka.

Great, great, I exclaimed. So what's the plan. Before you go ahead with yours, this is what I advise, this case needs to be reported at the nearest police station. Then also, from experience, I wouldn't want us to rely on the police for the recovery, good if they are responsive, often times they aren't.

I have had situations you go to the station with Google link location of vehicle, and they continue to stall, till the criminals are gone, or they claim they are waiting for order at the top. Funny how they don't wait for order to set road blocks, or wade in into civil matters, but once it is duties within their purview, they are always waiting for order.

He said that's true, that their cousin he contacted said the same thing. That he is planning to use vigilantes for the recovery. Ho that fine I said. And more so, there is sit at home, that the police have left their road blocks

You will think during sit at home, police were going to keep keeping check points and beef up security, but they are mostly either also hiding In their respective homes observing sit at home, or wearing mufti at their stations.

Under normal circumstance, you will see them mounting checkpoints on almost every 3 kilometres stretch, or just anywhere there are pot holes that vehicles need to slow down. I could bet, if investigations are carried out, it won't be no surprise finding anyone of them digging holes on an already Good Raod to create an avenue to mount check points with the sole aim of harassing motorists.

On sit at home days, the roads are always free. And police stations are almost always empty. This criminals use such days to commit their atrocities, not because of the fear of security forces on normal days, but the fear of jungle justice by prying eyes when caught on normal days.

How close is he to the village I asked, he said he would be there in the next 30 minutes. Great. Thats great I exclaimed. Please keep me posted on any updates.

I also requested that he send me the current number Mr Alfred, the victim that had is vehicle stolen sent to me. He said he will do that right way. He thanked me and hung up.

I had questions I will like to inquire directly from Mr Alfred. He alone knows who shutdown the vehicle. This would be our next puzzle to unravel. The vehicle currently not starting gives us limited time to act. It could make make or mar the recovery.

To be continued……..

one success recovery story out of the tens you've lost, and you want to kill us with boring suspense. You won use us practice thriller novel abi? Well, you're doing badly for your information. undecided

Thanks everyone for all your response, the issue has been fixed, The electrician loosed the drivers door control and said he was going to give it to someone to program or work on, and when he returned, and fixed it back all windows started working.

Am grateful for all your responses....
how much did you pay for the programming op? I want to check something grin
Next before calling any rewire or mechanic, google the problem. This helps give you an idea of possible causes of your vehicle faults. You can even narrow it down and call the necessary authorities grin. Since you're now empowered with the knowledge of the problem, just point them to it. If they know you have an idea of the problem, they won't play on your intelligence like your 'programming' rewire.

Ecu repair guy was able to refund ₦30k out of 35k, I collected it jeje.

First oil change done with 20w50 Toyota (I cannot come and kee my sef)

First short test drive from ogba to mega chicken ajah at 6am for a vehicle inspection .

Impressive run, no gear slips, no hesitation, 1.4liter engine giving out impressive fuel economy, even the legendary corolla would be jealous wink

On my way back I entered into ladipo to search for a new rear bumper and possibly a new door that kissed the pillar.

Rear bumper ₦15k door ₦15k but could not get a one instantly.

I took the one I could get and headed for the shop.

Checked fluids for leaks found none.

Let me talk about the power steering, its something I might have skipped

It came in slightly stiff, so I assumed it was the steering pump, without testing, I threw in a replacement part that I had on the shop, cleaned out the reservoir and put fresh oil it still did not solve It. It is not uncommon in the Rio to have a faulty power steering rack causing slight stiffness, I will be replacing the rack in the future .

After the short test drive, I started thinking of a longer trip so the Rio could visit elders for approval to be accepted into the fold .

we're waiting for you in ikorodu. I just discovered a failed road in one off grid hood like that grin

Got to location in isolo, it was easy to find, vehicle looked like it had not moved in months! Body was in fair condition , only had a really bad rear bumper , the interior was dirty! But nothing Eze couldn't clean up, the engine bay was as red as ikorodu mud could be with cobwebs , but interestingly no wires flying up and down. Opened the radiator and saw fresh coolant, Engine oil dip stick I saw almost clean engine oil at normal level, transmission oil dipstick was at normal level and very bright pink!

At this point let me give you a few tips, 9/10 times, if you go inspect a registered car and the transmission oil is new, car is battling a transmission issue wink .

At this point I asked the seller if the car could start (battery was in the car but not connected), to my surprise he said yes, in my mind I said NEVER!

Installs battery terminal, shifts car into neutral (didn't start in park) cranks and car came to life on first crank! shocked

I almost clapped for it grin but as a semi ipob, you have to keep a disappointed face during car deals to get a good bargain, so I comported my self and remained in character (make i no loose guard).

Went behind with the engine running, there was no smoke shocked , engine was a bit noisy but not the expected bearing noises, rollers belts and possibly alternator or compressor bearings, but nothing sinister.

Mileage 92,000km (57,000miles)

Underbody filled with mud but no visible violent rust.

Time for due diligence.

With the current plate number series, I knew vehicle had passed thru more than one hand in 2020, with the engine running (I was still amazed) i flipped thru the scrips (paper work) while watching body language and asking relevant questions (e no go make sense to enter crime fighters on Kia Rio)

Before I forget, I was impressed with the wheels, had nice rims but very bad tyres (I thought they were 14" stock)

Messaged my buddy in licensing to confirm if the change of ownership was properly done or if the vin was modified, quick comparison and it was a match and no one was looking for it (not stolen)

Paper work intact time to move the car.

I did not take a lot of pics during inspection so manage what I have plx.
