A dismissed Police officer, Olabode Momoh, has been arrested and charged for allegedly promoting himself to the rank of Inspector and resuming duty at Ejigbo Division of the Lagos State Command.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that was charged for impersonation under the Criminal law of the State over his alleged conduct against the Nigerian Police.

According to the Police, the officer was dismissed in 2005 for an undisclosed reason. But that did not prevent him from performing duty as a Police officer without authority.

The matter got exposed after he procured transfer documents, presented same to the Ejigbo Police Division and started performing duty as a genuine officer.

However, the information leaked that he was dismissed from the Police long time ago. So, he was subsequently arrested and transferred to the SCID, Yaba, for further investigation over his alleged conduct.

While being interrogated, he reportedly admitted that he was dismissed from the Police but he continued performing the duty as a Police officer in various Divisions in the State.

The Police found him culpable and charged him before the Yaba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

The charges read:

COUNT I: “That you OLABODE MOMOH ‘M’, on or before the 4th day of February 2025, at the Ejigbo Police Division of the Lagos Command in the Lagos State Magisteral District, having been retrenched from the Nigeria Police since 2005, did present yourself as an Inspector of Police and posted yourself to the above formation without authorizations and thereby committed an offence punishable under the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

COUNT II: ”That you, OLABODE MOMOH ‘M’, on or before the 4th day of February 2025, at the Divisional Police Station Ejigbo Lagos, in the Lagos State Magisterial District, having been retrenched from the Nigeria Police Force since 2005, did falsely present yourself as an Inspector of Police with AP No. 241088 attached to Ejigbo in the Lagos State Command without authorisation and thereby committed an offence punishable under Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.”

However, he pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, CSP Charles Akinrosoye, ESQ, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.O Alaka, granted him bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.

A Nigerian man who illegally entered Thailand was arrested along with his Thai wife for drug trafficking operations in the Sukhumvit district, Bangkok.

Ukwe Vincent Chisom , 33, and his Thai wife Ms. Kesini, 30, were arrested at their condominium room on Sri Nakarin Road in Samrong Nuea subdistrict, Muang district, Samut Prakan province on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

The arrest followed a Metropolitan Police investigation that revealed the couple’s drug trafficking activities in the Sukhumvit area.

Officers from the Child and Women Welfare Division conducted surveillance operations that led to the suspects’ capture at their residence.

Authorities seized 99 grams of Category 2 narcotics (cocaine), three mobile phones, and other evidence. Police also confiscated assets related to serious drug offenses valued at over 700,000 baht ($21,660).

Both suspects confessed to illegally entering Thailand through natural border crossings in Nong Khai province.

They admitted to purchasing drugs in the Sukhumvit area and distributing them in the Sri Nakarin district, with the woman renting the room and opening bank accounts to receive drug money transfers.

Police charged both suspects with jointly trafficking Category 2 narcotics (cocaine) by possession for distribution without authorization, constituting commercial activity that promotes drug proliferation among the public.

The Nigerian man faces additional charges as a foreign national for entering and remaining in Thailand without permission or with expired authorization.

Both suspects have been transferred to Samrong Nuea Police Station investigators for legal proceedings.

A Nigerian landlord has revealed how he ended up marrying his kind-hearted female tenant after his wife repeatedly locked him out of their home for returning late.

This was shared in a post on the popular social media platform X (formerly Twitter) by the man identified as @tort_walec.

According to him, the turning point came in 2017 when his wife once again locked him out, but this time, his beautiful and compassionate female tenant opened her door to him.

“In 2017, my wife locked me outside, but our beautiful, kind-hearted female tenant opened her door for me. In short, she’s not a tenant anymore. We now have three children,” he wrote.

The landlord further noted that his wife had locked him out more than 20 times, which ultimately led to his decision to leave the marriage.

“That was the over 20th time,” he added.

His statement comes amid an ongoing debate on X about whether a wife has the right to lock her husband out of the house for returning home late.

The security architecture put in place by the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State Command, CP Jimoh Moshood, is yielding results following the recovery of over 100 stolen assorted exotic vehicles worth over N2b during coordinated sting operations across the State.

P.M.EXPRESS reports as was disclosed by the Police boss during a press briefing at the Command’s headquarters in Ikeja.

The CP explained that 30 of the vehicles mainly SUVs, were parked at Lagos State Command and 70 were parked at the Ikorodu area of the State due to lack of space at the Command.

He also commended the efforts of the the Police officers and members of the public for their collaboration with the Police in Lagos State which is yielding results from successful operations in the State.
