PoliticsFg Vindicates Akpabio Over Uyo Specialist Hospital by eija74(op): 9:19pm On May 08, 2016
The Federal Government has vindicated Senate Minority Leader and
former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio over his
decision to construct a world class Specialist Hospital in the state,
stressing that with the facilities at the Ibom Specialist Hospital,
medical tourism would become a thing of the past.
It also promised that the government at the centre will partner with
the Akwa Ibom State Government on the operation of the hospital.
The Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, disclosed this in
Uyo,while inspecting facilities at the Akwa Ibom state government’s
owned Ibom Specialist Hospital.
Professor Adewole noted that "with facilities at Ibom Specialist
Hospital, medical tourism abroad can be reversed".
According to the former vice chancellor of the university of Ibadan,
“visiting the hospital complex today is an eye opener and as far as
I know, there is no such complex like this anywhere in Nigeria."
He declared that "with the proposed partnership, no Nigerian would
be allowed to go abroad for treatment on government sponsorship
from Jan. 2017".
“We will partner to make sure that it works and reverses medical
tourism. People from Ghana and Togo can come to Nigeria for
medical treatment.
“We will start using this facility and with these facilities, no
Nigerian will be allowed to go abroad for treatment,” he stressed.
He warned medical doctors to desist from running a syndicate of
sending people abroad for treatment for pecuniary interest, noting
that individuals could go abroad on their own expenses if they so
wish but not on government sponsorship.
Meanwhile, the Akwa Ibom professional Forum(AKIPROF) has
called on those who accused former governor of Akwa Ibom state,
Godswill Akpabio, of not doing anything in the state, particularly in
the health sector to tender a public apology and pray for
forgiveness from God and the people for their campaign of
falsehood and hatred against the Senate Minority Leader.
This was contained in a statement issued by the group and signed
by its national president, Pastor Odudu Udofia.
"Those who have been encouraging and spreading lies and total
falsehood on the incomparable achievements of the former
governor should seek forgiveness from God and man or bury their
heads in shame."
The group thanked the Health Minister for publicly recognising the
effort of Akpabio at providing world- class facilities in the health
sector, and not play politics because of political differences.
" We thank Professor Adewole for his sense of patriotism,
statesmanship and responsility . He has finally put to rest the
erroneous belief in some quarters that the much talked about
Specialist Hospital established by the Akpabio-led administration
only existed on papers and that the equipment said to have been
put in place were all hired and had since been returned to the real
owners."

PoliticsAkwa Ibom Specialist Hospital Begins Operation by eija74(op): 8:26pm On Nov 24, 2015
Barely six months after its official commissioning, the Akwa
Ibom State 20 th anniversary Specialist Hospital has
commenced operation with the arrival of more than 50
medical experts from India and other parts of the world.
The experts drawn from different fields of medicine such as
surgery, gyneacology and other areas arrived Uyo last
weekend after delays over immigration issues and have
been quartered in a special estate built for them by the state
government.
Operations at the quaternary hospital which is also a
referral centre for major medical checks and treatment in
the West African sub region suffered setbacks in the past
due to licensing, immigration and other logistics and
technical issues.
Addressing journalists shortly after presenting the experts
to newsmen yesterday in Uyo, state commissioner for
health Dr Dominic Ukpong maintained that the hospital was
purposely built with state of the art equipments and
experienced personnel to make it a one stop medical centre
In Sub Saharan Africa.
“In the first place I want people to know that this is a referal
hospital for tertiary health facilities in the sense that medical
issues beyond the reach of the teaching hospitals we have
in thus part of the world can be referred to here.
“The equipments we have here and the capacities of the
medical experts we have recruited to start the hospital are
meant to redirect medical tourism from India and Europe to
Akwa Ibom and we are confident that with the superior
services we are offering here the hospital will in a short time
become a reference point I Sub Saharan Africa at least.
“I am saying this because I have been a medical Doctor for
long and I can assure you that the investment the state
government has made here in terms of latest medical
equipments is second to none.” Ukpong explained.
The commissioner said that the hospital management would
soon advertise for other positions in the facility and warned
prospective applicants against falling prey to dubious
persons who obtain money from people with promises to
help them secure employment in the hospital.
He explained that the state government would soon initiate a
health insurance scheme that would enable people get
treatment at the facility at a premium since the services
offered at the hospital could initially be beyond the reach of
the common man.
Facilities at the hospital amongst others include a 640 slide
CT scan, two CAT Labs for interventional cardiology and
three Modular Theatres that would ensure that things like
open surgery, penal transplant and other major surgical
operations are carried out in the hospital.

PoliticsLuxury Cars, Fire Trucks Others Will Be Assembled In Akwa- Ibom by eija74(op): 7:13am On Jul 13, 2015
The Akwa Ibom State government has announced plans to
begin the construction of an assembly plant to assemble luxury
cars, ambulances and fire trucks in the state.
The move, according to a statement on Friday, is part of the
efforts of the new administration to harness the various
resources in the state to achieve total industrialisation.
The Governor, Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, had on
Thursday declared open a retreat for the newly appointed
members of his cabinet which is aimed at intimating them with
the vision of the new leadership in the state.
According to the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr.
Ekerete Udoh, the retreat, which is focused on industrialisation,
will appraise ways to build on the legacies of the former
Governor of the State, Godswill Akpabio and keep the state’s
sound footing for economic development.
The statement added that the governor had declared his
commitment to leverage on the economic potential of the state
to move it to the next level.
Udoh said the retreat would also focus on how to harness the
various resources in the state to achieve total industrialisation
for the benefit of all citizens, adding that it would map out
strategies on how all the ministries can work together for the
realisation of the economic policies of the new administration.
He said to achieve this, the new governor had set up a
technical committee on agriculture and food sufficiency, a
technical committee on Ibom Deep Seaport,
“On Monday, July 13, a technical committee on Foreign Direct
Investment will be inaugurated while a ground breaking
ceremony for the construction of a plant to assemble luxury
cars, ambulances and fire trucks in Itu will also hold same
day,” he said.
The statement quoted the governor to have said recently while
setting up the committee for the deep seaport project, “Ibom
Deep Seaport is an audacious attempt to re-write the maritime
story of Akwa Ibom State. It holds the promise of an industrial
revolution of our state, creation of over 100,000 jobs as well
as the promise of a self-sustaining commercial city with oil
and gas support services.

EBOLA WAS CREATED IN
THE LAB JUST TO MAKE
BIG MONEY.!!!
........................ ............................
Don't be deceived Africans wake up. They will go
into the lab, invent a disease they claim has no
cure, they will come to Africa infect one or two
persons with it because they know its faster to
spread it in Africa, then they will be the first to
tell us the name eg HIV EBOLA.
Governments across the
world will donate money to research which they
will pocket because there's no research they
know the in and out of
ït, making big money
from killing people. Ask yourself, how come
when a disease break in Africa they are they first
to tell us the precautionary measures to put in
place.
if its a new disease like they claim how come
they know so much about it including the
symptoms since when have they been carrying
out this research to have known all the
symptoms and preventive measures to put in
place if they are not the ones that invented and
injected it
into human.
just to make us believe they will say it came
from
monkeys, gorillas or ape,
is it today we've been
coming in contact with
monkeys and gorillas
how come they make us
believe that all the
disease that has no cure
come from these animals
don't they have monkeys and gorillas abroad if
they do then why is it that it is always because
Africans came in contact with these animals is
why they were infected with
diseases, even when we
fully know that they do
all sorts with these
animals even the way
we can't, they are the
ones that kiss monkeys
and even have sex with
them.
This disease are just like system virus where
someone will create a virus and anti virus just to
make big money from software companies
across the globe.. Don't be deceived EBOLA is
one of those virus created in the lab and infected
on people just to make big money inform of
research.
Let us even reason If Ebola first broke out in
the 70's how come they
know it is ebola, wouldn't it have meant that
someone has been studying the disease in the
lab is why he/she could immediately recognize it
when it first break or do you want to tell me that
when it first break was when they started
studying it and came up with the name ebola.
Let me reason like you
for once, when the first
ever victim fell sick, let's
assume like every other
sickness ofcourse the
family members will
think Its just a common
illness and so will probably try to take care
of the victim in their
own ways which means
they would have come
in contact with the
victim all the family
members would have at
one point touched the
victim when trying to
help him, how come
they were not infected?
Now when the sickness
got worse and they
decide to take him to the
hospital mind you in
taking him to the
hospital they would
probably have come in
contact with the victim
by carrying him into the
vehicle or whatever form
they use in taking him to
the hospital, doctors on
receiving the patience
since they don't know
what it is might have at
one point touched the
victim, even the nurses
too, so how come they
were not infected, how
come only the man that
was infected died of the
disease, what of
everyone that came in
contact with him? Stop
being foolish if ebola
was first discovered in
the 70's by now it would
have spread beyond
measures because no
one knows anything
about it and it would not
have been contained like
they made us believe it.
How come its suddenly spreading now that we
even have better information system.. I can
agree it was made known in the 70's that was
when they were still testing the
system and now they've
fully gotten it they decide to inflict it on Africans
just like they do with system virus. Ebola is a
lab virus aimed at killing Africans wake up.
