I cant wait to see how that republic will be ran. Again, all Nigerians are wholly responsible for the plight of the nation today. No exception. We all killed a country endowed in milk and honey. We are seeing the reasons why a section of the country gave 99% of their votes to the buffoon and reasons the agitation for IPOB was rekindled after the loss of the election. Do these people actually want the birth of "there was a country" from the ruins of Nigeria? The agitation was muted during the wasteful years of Joe's tenure and resuscitated during the second coming of our own messiah. At least every sane Nigeria can see that there are sincere efforts to address this menacing problem. Any group of people or organisation that only thrives in chaotic anomaly cannot be classified as resourceful and hardworking. Nothing can justify the injustice meted to poor and the deprived by the activities of these savages. |
Politics / Sacked NNPC MD, Esther Nnamdi-ogbue Owns The $50m Found By EFCC – Source by ejakpovi2: 8:15am On Apr 13, 2017 |
Sources on Wednesday told SaharaReporters that the $50 million uncovered in a residential building located at Osborne Towers, Ikoyi, by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) belongs to the sacked Managing Director, Operations at the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Esther Nnamdi-Ogbue. Nnamdi-Ogbue, was sacked alongside other three top Managing Directors at the NNPC over the ‘missing’ petrol scandal involving Capital Oil & Gas Nigeria Limited owned by businessman, Ifeanyi Ubah. SaharaReporters reports that the cook who served Esther Nnamdi-Ogbue, absconded with cash and pieces of jewelry worth $6million in 2016. The cook, Mr. Gabel Segbedji, a national of Benin Republic, took off with the loot in a Toyota Camry car, which also belonged to her boss. The operation leading to the discovery was followed by a whistle blower's confidential alert received by the anti-graft agency in the early hours of Wednesday. The breakdown of the money found in the house is $43.4million, £27,800 and N23.2million. According to the source, the movers of the bags made believe that they were bringing in bags of clothes. Another source who is conversant with the apartment of interest indicated that a woman usually appears on a different occasion with Ghana-Must-Go bags. "She comes looking haggard, with dirty clothes but her skin didn't quite match her outward appearance, perhaps a disguise," the source said. On getting to the building, operatives met the entrance door locked. Guards at the gate explained that nobody resides in the apartment, but some persons come in and out once in a while. In compliance with the magisterial order contained in the warrant, the EFCC used minimum force to gain entrance into the apartment, the agency said. Monies were found in two of the four-bedroom apartment. A further search of the wardrobe by operatives in one of the rooms was found to be warehousing three fireproof cabinets disguisedly hidden behind wooden panels of the wardrobe. Upon assessing the content of the cabinets, neatly arranged were US dollars, British pound sterling, and some naira notes in sealed wrappers. Preliminary findings indicate that the funds are suspected to be proceeds of unlawful activity. Investigations are ongoing. The facility is said to be owned by a former PDP Chairman, Adamu Mu’azu.

Politics / Senate On Vengeance After Nigerian Customs Seized Senator Saraki’s Bulletproof by ejakpovi2: 7:26pm On Mar 18, 2017 |
haraReporters has learned that the Nigerian Senate’s current war against the leadership of the Nigerian Customs Service has its roots in the fact that Customs officials seized a bulletproof Range Rover Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) owned by Senate President Bukola Saraki. Our investigators discovered that Nigerian Customs officers in Lagos had on January 11, 2017 intercepted and impounded a Range Rover SUV which carried documents that claimed its chassis number was “SALGV3TF3EA190243.” Customs sources told our correspondent that the value of the car was N298 million, which meant that customs duty of N74 million should have been paid on the car. At the interception of the car, its driver claimed that the vehicle belonged to the Senate President and presented a letter from the National Assembly liaison office in Lagos, indicating that the driver of the luxury vehicle was authorized to drive the Senate President’s official Range Rover bulletproof car. Our sources disclosed that when asked to show evidence of duty payment and an end-user certificate from the office of the National Security Adviser—a document required for bulletproof vehicles—the driver presented documents that were found to be fake. The reportedly fake documents provided by the driver indicated that a measly customs duty of N8 million was paid on the car. Customs officials said that, apart from the fact the customs duty was extremely low, they also determined that the presented document itself was fake. They consequently seized the vehicle. Later the same day, January 17, 2017, the Senate sent a letter signed by one Architect O.A. Ojo acting as the Secretary of Procurement, Estate and Works of the national Assembly, requesting the release of the vehicle, which he claimed belonged to the convoy of the Senate President. In its response, the Nigerian Customs sent a letter signed by its Othman, A.S. Comptroller, Import and Export, the letter dated January 24 2017, again requested for the end user certificate as well as evidence of proper clearance before the vehicle could be released. Neither Mr. Saraki nor the National Assembly provided the required documents. Investigations by SaharaReporters showed that the documents used by Mr. Saraki and the National Assembly to clear the car impounded by the Nigerian Customs did not belong to the vehicle. In addition, Senator Saraki and the National Assembly apparently undervalued the car by more than 50% to enable them to avoid paying proper customs duty. When our investigators checked on the website of Range Rover, they discovered that the vehicle whose paperwork was being used to drive the impounded car from Lagos to Abuja was a grey-colored car manufactured in the UK in 2014. The price tag on that car was $142,000, but the importer gave the value as $64,516. The exchange rate at the time of car importation was N155 to $1. Shortly after the seizure of the car, the Nigerian Senate mounted a vigorous attack on the Nigerian Customs Service, demanding that the agency stops any further efforts to confiscate vehicles found to have evaded payment of duties. The senators also summoned the Comptroller-General of Customs, Hameed Ali, to appear before the Senate. In the letter of invitation, the senators specified that Mr. Ali, a retired Army Colonel, must wear the official Customs uniform when he appeared before them. Mr. Ali has so far refused to heed the order to wear the Customs uniform.

Politics / BREAKING: Former Enugu Governor, Sullivan Chime Defects To APC by ejakpovi2: 9:03am On Mar 17, 2017 |
The immediate past Governor of Enugu State, Barr. Sullivan Chime has reportedly dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. DAILY POST learnt Thursday night that Chime defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC His reported defection is seen to be a preparatory ground for an imminent political war between him and the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu. Both politicians had before the 2015 general elections engaged in one of the heaviest political battles in the State as Chime planned to unseat Ekweremadu in the Senate. The ex-governor later withdrew as Ekweremadu gained the upper hand. However, latest developments indicate that the former governor has not given up on the Enugu West Senatorial seat.Late Thursday night, spokesman of the APC in the South-East, Mr. Hyacinth Ngwu announced that Chime had joined the ruling party. He wrote in his timeline: “Breaking News: Today, His Excellency Barr. Sullivan Iheanacho Chime, immediate past governor of Enugu State joined APC.” His post, however, did not go down well with some Nigerians who felt Chime’s defection was to evade prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, over his alleged involvement in the 2015 election money shared by former petroleum minister, Diezani Alison Madueke. But Ngwu swiftly fired back at Chime’s critics with another post.It read: ”I wonder how some of the opposite politicians talk. If their member is questioned by EFCC or ICPC or invited by the Police, they will shout to the heavens, ‘victimisation, oppression of political opponents’. “But when the same person defects to (APC), a better party with vision for Nigeria, they roar that the same defected to avoid interrogation by EFCC, ICPC or the Police. Haba, which way my people?”As of the time of filling this report, a text message sent to his then Chief Press Secretary, Barr. Chukwudi Achife has not been responded to. |
