It really baffles me to see the way decisions are taken in the country. In an article I read on the PTDF fund. It was to be used also to start up a College of Petroleum Technology in Kaduna. I don't see for any reason why the federal Government would want to site a Petroleum Institute in the North. It is quite clear that the Oil Producing States of Nigeria are been denied to a very great extent what is theirs. If the government is to site a Petroleum institute of any kind it is very logical to site it, in the Oil producing states of the country. Our leaders should be very careful in the kind of decisions they take. lets remove the politics and face the reality of moving our nation forward. The Militants in the south south may not actually be fighting because they love their people but the government only give them reasons to cover for their selfish needs.

The just release 2006 census result is no doubt a mess.
I would not want to say much on this issue now but I think this calls for Southern Nigerians to advocate more for true federalism.

Atiku standing against third term does not make him the President Nigeria needs. When we are talking about a President for the country please let's reason we need men with character and men that are not flowing with the usual way things are done now in the country we need a total change.

Our problem before this government came to power in 1999 was a depressed economy, fear, insecurity, food scarcity and unemployment. Poor health system, failed education, etc. No one ever heard corruption

But that's not true even before 1999 Nigeria was already known as the second most corrupt Nation in the world. it is very clear that  corruption is one of Nigeria's greatest problem. Our Steel Plants ( Ajaokuta , DSC) which has the capacity of employing Thousands of workers are not fully working now because someone eat money that was to be used for the plants. the truth is that most of our infrastructures are not in order because someone eat the money for it. up till today we have bad roads dilapidated structures because people only collect the cash without doing anything about them. this is very bad it is wickedness and we must agree that it is a major problem in this country let's not be sentimental. let's face the fact.

If you know you have a case write to EFCC or ICPC maybe they can do something about it.

Buhari, yes has credential as someone with courage to fight corruption but I wonder how far he would go in a democratic setting. all the same maybe he has a high score on this subject.

With events unfolding day by day we keep seeing the transition process taking new dimension. It is becoming difficult for one to make a clear choice on whom to vote or support. Most of these aspirants are people we only know from reports we hear about them  and we can't really say whether they are who we see them to be.

Corruption stands as Nigerian greatest problem and Apart from having good ideas, it would be best for Nigeria to have a President that has the courage and character to fight corruption. Please help me which aspirant has more of what it would take to fight corruption in Nigeria. Is it Atiku, buhari, Utomi, Okotie, Yar'aua. or someone I have not mentioned

In few weeks from now Nigerians would be knowing who becomes the country’s next President. I have been following the political trend for some time and it is interesting to see how things are unfolding day by day. For now we can say that the stage is set for four political Party: PDP, ANPP, ADC and The Fresh . These four parties have four men. Two Two from the same State. Apart from the ANPP aspirant the others are men who have never tested  power at such level. All these men think they have what it takes to make Nigeria better. So what happens next let’s wait and see maybe there would be a merger with other Parties or someone new would still join the race from another Party. Well time would tell.

There is need for us to understand that the popularity of a candidate should not be our yardstick in casting our vote in this transition period. I don't also thick it is right for one to cast his vote on someone only because he has the chance of winning either by the godfathers or otherwise. We should be able to vote and support people we believe in, People with a vision, people with character and people we can trust. What really makes a man is when he makes decision because he believes on it even if the majority dose not sees it so.

Someone may say our votes does not really count but I think it' is very important for us to do what is necessary. You can’t just tell PDP might not win this 50%, and someone you are thinking does not have a chance can be the next President of this country. WHO EVER THOUGHT GOODLUCK JONATHAN WOULD BE THE RUNNING MATE TO YAR' ADUA.

In my own opinion I think an aspirant has the chance of becoming the next President if has the following. Vision,. Integrity, honesty, a good track record and if he is trustworthy

With all going on in the politics of this country, i just wonder when this country would hold a free and fair election. Pls I really appreciate contributions on this topic. I believe if we can see the possibilities we can get there. It is so unfortunate that 90% of Nigerians don't see it. So everyone takes it that the country is bad so there is no need doing any good so just play along and get it worst. Can we help ourself and begin to see that truly if every one individual begins to change his or her mind about this country it would really make a difference. If we begin to see the possibilities of a free and fair election then I think we will get there.

I quite agree with Loverbwoy but it's not so in all cases. It depends on the company, what they pay and the kind of environment they are operating. for instance in the Niger Delta region communites are involved in employment opportunities in companies.

Some Companies like Construction companies are more concerned with what you can offer, your experience. so in most cases they don,t employ you as a full time staff but as a contract staff so if you are not measuring up they can easily kick you out. so majority of Nigerian workforce in the oil and gas Sector are working as contract staff.

If we are to look at it critically from this angle we can say that technical experience really counts, having confidence in yourself, humility and courtesy. All these attributes could really be of help to anyone seeking a job in Nigerian and has no Body to look up to for help except God.
