Greetings OkadaBooks Riders,

About 2 months ago OkadaBooks released her first referral program. The goal of the program was to help authors get additional revenue to stimulate their book sales, by giving users free credit to buy their books.

But what ended up happening was a serial abuse of the referral program.

So this weekend OkadaBooks will be looking to suspend the referral program indefinitely, till we create proper systems in place to eliminate such abuses.

We would also be reviewing pending withdrawal requests to identify users who may have abused the system by "creating multiple email addresses from the same location" and "then buying N3000 to N6000 books with the receiving referral account so that another account that they also created can be used to withdraw."

Each account will be reviewed, and as with everything OkadaBooks, things are open to dispute. If you feel you deserve to still be credited and not blocked do let us know.

NOTE: OkadaBooks has an entire log of all transactions, including who referred who, and who bought whose book, just so you are aware of this before disputing. Thanks for riding with us.

To be able to publish on Okadabooks, your document must change from PDF or Word or TXT or RTF to Epub.

Epub is the accepted document format. If you upload any other format, you'll get all kinds of error messages.


Now What is Epub?

Epub for short simply means Electronic Publication. This type of document ends with .epub extension, as against .doc, .docx, .rtf, .txt or .pdf extensions.

E.g
Nonso and the Fat Hen.epub is an epub file.

But

Nonso and the Fat Hen.pdf is strictly a PDF file. Same goes with the other formats.

So you have to ensure your document has a .epub extension before uploading it.

Epub is the format used by almost all online digital publishing platforms. Amazon, Kobo books, Barnes and Noble, Smashwords, amongst others.

Although the last two like their epub documents to be wired specifically to certain styles, so as to ensure it comes out well and people can read it without complains on their devices.

With Okadabooks, you have two options to convert your document(s) to epub.

Convert it on other eBook conversion platforms or app.

Building your Audience (2)

People are making money, money and more money just from writing and blogging. But how? Why is my own blog not making money as much as the others are? What I'm I doing wrong?

I have asked that question several times, and I'm sure you have too.

Let me tell you about my ex. Yes. My ex. I still wonder what he did to get me hooked in the first place.

You see. He was so pissed with my passion and hard decision to face writing.

"You want to be a writer? Are you serious? Because of what now? What sort of laziness is this?"

He told me to go take professional courses, brush up my CV and get a bomb of a job with companies like Shell, Oando, etc... Heck! If I could even get a job at Skynet that would have made him more happy than a stupid, good for nothing, poor paying job. Writing? He cringed.

My ex didn't directly say it, but he subtly made it clear, "no good paying job, no marriage".
