Earn N200 per review of not more than 200 words submitted for any of the following topics (You only review what you have experience personally)

1. Movies - Here you review the movie based on the following headings
Story-line - Does the story even make sense? Is it original? Or just a Cliche?
Consistency - (called continuity otherwise) is the consistency of the characteristics of people, plot, objects, and places seen by the reader or viewer over some period of time.
Video Quality - Just compare the video quality it to the best quality movie you have ever watch.
Editing and Directing - Were there errors? Are there corrections that should have been made but was ignored? etc.
Recommended or Not - Would you recommend this movie to someone else? Or would you watch it again if you were opportune? A simple yes or no answer.

In each case give a rating between 1 and 5.

2. Music.
Talk about your likes and dislikes. Give a recommendation, for people to listen to it or not. Then rate between 1 and 5.

3. A government office you have been to:
Mention the office, if possible give more details. Talk about your likes and dislikes. Then rate between 1 and 5.

4. Hotels
Talk about your likes and dislikes. Give a recommendation, for people to choose it or not. Then rate between 1 and 5 for each of Cleanliness, Staff politeness and Professionalism, and Maintenance Culture.

5. Law Enforcement Agencies:
Review your experience with any of the law enforcement agencies, could be police, military, road safety, or any other. Rate their professionalism with respect to the situation.

6. Banks
Talk about your likes and dislikes. Give a recommendation, for people to choose it or not. Then rate between 1 and 5 for each of Time Taken to attend to you, Staff politeness and Professionalism, and Charges on your account.

7. Telecom Service Providers
Talk about your likes and dislikes. Give a recommendation, for people to choose it or not. Then rate between 1 and 5.


A minimum of 5 reviews in a word document will be required to qualify for payment. This implies that the minimum payment is N1,000 (5 reviews).

You can submit as many reviews as you like and it will be calculated at N200 per review, noting that you can't submit less than 5 reviews.

Note however that your reviews will be reviewed before publishing and that we will sign each of these review as a guest reviews, so you should be able to defend anything you review.

Okadabooks is hosting a short story competition. This competition is channeled at supporting and encouraging writers as well as helping to build our reading culture.

How to Participate

1. Write a short story of at most, 2000 words (It could be less, but not more). Your story can be in any genre of your choice but, you are not allowed to publish more than one story for this competition.

2. Publish the short story on okadabooks publishing platform. Beside your short story title, write ‪#‎OKBsCom‬ in bracket. E.g

Title: The Girl From Mars (#OKBsCom)

If your title is NOT saved like this, it won't be recognized as an entry for the competition.

Note: The number of downloads for a story is equal to the number of votes for that story. When your friends and readers download your story, rate it and leave a review, they are actually voting for you. Splendid! Right?

How Winners will be determined

We have two stages. First stage and final stage.

For the first stage, winners will be picked based on number of downloads + rating. To beat the first round, your story must have at least 300 downloads and at least a rating of 4.5

After the finalists are selected, the judges will now read the works of the finalists as well as reviews left by readers. Your works will be judged based on "Writing style, grammatical errors, spelling errors and most importantly, structure. When the judges are through, the winners will emerge.

Question: Who can participate?
Answer: Anybody who can write.

Question: Is the competition open to only Nigerians?
Answer: No. Writers from other countries can participate.

Question: How many winners do we need?
Answer: Three. We need First, second and third

Question: What prizes will these winners get?
Answer: The prizes are as follows

* First position- 50,000.

* Second position- An infinix phone

* Third position- An infinix phone

October 6th - 26th (12:00 PM)---Write your story, publish it on our platform and start inviting your friends and social media acquaintances to download, rate and review it. Please note that you are allowed to publish only one story.

October 27th - November 8th: Downloads(voting continues). The earlier you submit your entry, the better.

November 9th 16th: Screening for stage one.

November 17th: Finalists would be announced.

November 19th - 29th: Screening of finalists.

30th November: Winners will be announced and told how to collect their prize.
