Good morning All

My car is not speeding at all and electrician confirmed to be brainbox issue My electrician removed my car brain box and tried it in another car and same thing happened. That’s why he concluded that is the brain box and he’s saying brain box is 90k and has refused to give me the seller number to call and negotiate . Please how much for brain box in Lagos? How do I know the right one to buy?

If the electrician did what you stated above, then fo for replacement but buy it in your local part seller as advice. I can give support to cross check if the available ECU will be compatible and work with your vehicle

My Oga, I will advice you to go the BIG part seller and find out the price in your close area. Ensure you give the man your ECU part number and let him know that if he supply any one that is not the same he will give time to cross check if it will match and work for your vehicle. If it didn't work, it will be easier for you to meet the seller and get refund.
My worry now on this issue ; Is ECU the problem? because I work on an Issue related acceleration and ECU was changed but it didn't solve the issue and later root cause was traced improper sitting of O-ring in the fuel tank.

If gasket is bad, it will allow water to be mixing together with Oil, but my own don't and is still over heat when I Speed above 80km and when AC is on.

Once I applied pressure, the temperature will go up, but on a low pressure, the temperature will be static.

My fan is working perfect work and my radiator is neat.

What's the problem?

If you top up water that often, the likely culprit is your gasket.

N.b. I no be mechanic o

I only add water in the morning when am leaving for work and after close of work when am going home. It has Neva over heat when am driving far distance as long as I maintained 40/60km/h without AC.


If my gasket is bad, shaa oil will be mixing together with water. But my oil is good and engine sounds great

If you did all that, then your gasket is not burnt.
Kindly call 07089030689 for assistance as remote diagnosis would not be visible.

That's my issue, I thought when gasket is bad, it will allow water to mix with oil. But water and oil are not mixing together and the engine sounds normal.

If the gasket is that bad, e for don stop on top bridge as I go to work everyday with the car to VI.

Your fan may b working but not blowing at the right speed, check with a rewire or technician if it is working normally.
If your fan is working optimally then ur radiator must be clogged or bad. Take it for a flush. Both radiator and AC condenser should be flushed.
Secondly, do u need to top water in your radiator regularly or it never gets low on coolant?

What is happening is that when u speed, d system needs more cool water circulating, and more surface area to cool the hot water from the engine than when u are static or driving slowly.

You are right, when I give the engine more power by speeding and putting AC, it over heat quickly but when on static with low speed level, Everything will be normal

You can do the gasket test yourself....

Fill up your radiator and remove the cap...start the car, if the water pumps out while starting the car, your gasket is gone....and when gasket is bad, whether at 60-70 your car will always over heat ...

I think the problem is either your radiator is blocked, you can remove and find blacksmith...they will help your flush and check for any leakage...around 3k-4k..... After eliminating that, if the issue persist....then your radiator fan might be the culprit...it either not optimum again or it working in the reverse cooling...

Have washed the radiator, black smith washed it for me, secondly, how do I know if my fan is working in reverse/below optimum level.


Will do the gasket test when am leaving the office closing hour.

From what you described, your gasket is the likely culprit.

Does the water in your reservoir or radiator short? Meaning you have to top it up every time?

If so, it's either your gasket is bad or you have small leaks especially in your radiator.

I just worked on the Radiator on Saturday was doing before and mechanic recommend I wash the radiator which I did. Still no difference.

Once I put water for reservoir, it will dry up but radiator will still be having water.


I only top up when am leaving for work in the morning, til will carry me tll I reach office for VI and when am leaving office, I top water again and it will reach me till I got home ijegun

You said car does not overheat when idling for 2 hours and only overheats when moving at 80km/h and with AC on right?
So I assume you have a restriction in coolant flow possibly from the water pump.
If he has the kit for coolant leak down test, he's diagnosis would be better.

Like this morning, I left house by 5:40am from ijegun to VI through the 3rd mainland bridge, I maintained speed level of 40-60km/h. Even with all the traffic, e no still over heat till I reach office and park. It can stay more than 2hrs without over -heating as long as I no drive pass 60km and I no put on AC. I dey drive this car every day ( Monday to Friday to VI ) without over-heating.

Please recommend wia I can go for the test. Me don't want to change my gasket and still having same issue.

When things like this happen, there's problem with the radiator.
Is your radiator a single cell?
If yes, then it means it can not carry the work any longer, thus need to go upgrade it to a double cell.
Is the radiator leaking?
Check the radiator cover, it might have gone bad and must be changed.
If you can't do all the scrutinizing, meet a rewire/mechanic to help check for the problem and resolve it.
Just pity your gasket.

I just serviced my car on Saturday and I washed (not with pressure washer ohh) the radiator. But still over heating. Mechanic is saying I should change gasket. Want to be sure before doing it.


Moreover, today I left house around 5:40am from ijegun to VI through 3rd mainland bridge. Till I reach office e no over heat as I maintained speed level of 40-60km/h even on side traffic e no over heat. But once I drive pass 80km it will over heat.

Check if ur fan still works after putting on a.c or wen u notice an increase in temperature.

Both fans are working well.

Check all the cooling systems components from fan speed and direction, radiator cover, radiator fins for blockage and leaks, thermostat if present (if it's partially blocked or functioning abnormally), cooling pipes for leaks and rust blockage (seen this a lot with people who use water instead of coolant) to your water pump.

I use water, will check the pipe and my mech is saying I should change gasket.

My advice to you when you wanted to start was to stay with bolt, driving on Sundays should be guaranteed with enough sugre to boost your earnings. Try this and see the difference.

And by the way, why don't you want to use bolt?

Am yet to go for inspection.. Inspection na within the week and I do go to work...

Good morning guys, my experience as new bie to Indrive


My first ride was to Civic center is a church in ikotun idimu road na family members I carry go church,


After dropping them, Indrive refused to allow me get order till I make payment so had to use my ATM to mk payment.


My second order was to deliver a surprise birthday CAKE at ipaja road ( find it hard to locate the estate really spent more than an hour looking for the area ) finally delivered.


My second order was from ikotun to Ajao estate carry family members to swim ( the really delayed me had to stop over for them to eat at buka hut was thinking they are buying take away only for me to wait over 5mins and when I went inside, saw them eating was so annoyed, she apologize and said take away was expensive)

My third rider was from Ajao estate to oshodi family members coming back from church.


Fourth ride, from oshodi to ikotun ( stopped over for her to buy food at chicken Republic)

Cancelled a ride as I reach pick up point, I saw 4 XXL and 1 small girl ( 5 people) I told them am not going and cancel the order.


Next ride from LAISU to idimu ( stoped over to buy cake for birthday) when we got dia, she asked me to wait and paid me well off record.


My last rider was from NNPC Ejigbo to Okota, picked up her boyfriend and drop them at ShopRite ( off record too )



Got home by 11pm.

Expenses:
Bought fuel of 7500 and paid Indrive 2k


Total completed ride - 8

Cancelled - 1


But seriously all the ladies I carried wia all snapping picture and doing video, adjusting AC ( as in just can't sit and enjoy ride without acting drama )

Had a smooth ride no police wahala , no lastma wahala and was careful / my Riders even show me road too.

With time I will improve and know road


Next Sunday am thinking of going to ISLAND.


Seriously you can only enjoy This as side hustle and when the car is urs. D money I mk on Sunday really helped for this week.
