MaxInDHouse: Since the highlighted is what you believe about my posts don't you think it's better if i should save my time chatting with someone else?
I've shown you what Moses asked the God who sent him to the Israelites right from the start, if this God is giving him over 600 laws to set before the Israelites when no nation has ever heard such before would they have believed it's from a God and not Moses himself fabricating things? A people thought the God of their forefathers has delivered them out of slavery and gone His own way so for Moses to bring laws never had before telling them it's this same God who never gave their forefathers such rules. Well God wrote the first ten on stone tablets which no one has ever heard or seen before then so they won't doubt Moses.
But since you think this discussion is just a waste of time it's better you keep your ten commandments case. Farewell! Nah! You are still trying to cover up. The Israelites heard the Ten Commandments with their own ears. Deut 5: 22 These are the commandments YHVH proclaimed in a loud voice to your whole assembly there on the mountain from out of the fire, the cloud and the deep darkness; and he added nothing more. Then he wrote them on two stone tablets and gave them to me. |

MaxInDHouse: You're not ready to learn nah!
All these your Yahushua, Yesrael and what have you is nothing but shambles.
Moses questions the God sending him to the Israelites over BELIEVE (TRUST) asking:
"perhaps they don't believe me" Exodus 4:1
If you're working with such a person won't you prepare everything to the point where it will be difficult to harbour doubts?
God is setting over 600 laws to establish a nation as their constitution, so God wrote the first ten on stone tablets so when the Israelites see the first ten on stone tablets and the over 600 including the first ten in scrolls they will believe that all the laws are from the same God.
That's the wisdom behind writing ten on stones not that the first ten are more important than the rest! Mtcheeeeew! You are wasting your time. You are just trying to cover up your blunder. Look at what you said: MaxInDHouse: Why are you laying undue emphasis on this ten commandments?
Guy, God has about 600 laws for the nation of Israel but because Moses asked Him questions regarding these laws which no nation has anything familiar that's why God wrote the first 10 on stone tablets. All the laws are equally commandments and important since they are laws from the same person: GOD! Maxindhouse, state from the Scriptures where the emboldened part of what you said above happened. It should not be difficult. |

MaxInDHouse: "Yes, according to the Law nearly all things are cleansed with blood, and unless blood is poured out no forgiveness takes place"
The wages of sin is death {Romans 6:23} so if the sinner will not pay with his/her life then another life must suffice that's why blood is required. Just as through one (perfect) man all humans because sinners the same is applicable to redemption that through the blood one (perfect) man all will be cleansed! Romans 5:11-12
He is the perfect description of God's attributes {John 14:9} so we don't need laws to become God's children, all we need is a role model CHRIST! John 1:11-12 Hebrews 9:22 - the entire chapter, in fact - marks the clear distinction between the Old Covenant and the New Covenant. Maxindhouse, I need a straight answer: do you or do you not accept that Yahushua the Messiah, as the Word of YHVH Almighty, is the embodiment of the Ten Commandments of YHVH Almighty? |

MaxInDHouse: The book (Bible) has all the details but as you can see i'm only summarizing it in just one or two sentences. OT~How we got here, how trouble began, how God dealt with a chosen nation and how God promised through the chosen nation to redeem mankind. NT~How the means of mankind's redemption came, how he lived like all other men before he got baptized, his ministry, teachings, disciples, how he faced fierce opposition among his own race, accusation, arrest, charged, arraigned, judged, sentenced, his execution, resurrection and ascension back to heaven. You can add what else you remember.
God's word means what God said but if you're referring to John 1:1 that is another thing entirely. In heaven God passes information to all his angelic sons through the firstborn just as God intended to pass information to all mankind through Adam His firstborn human Son {Luke 3:38} so even though all the angels knew God, it's their elder brother who is the firstborn that always speak to them as God's mouthpiece {1Thessalonians 4:16} everything including all the angels are like his properties inherited from his father. Colossians 1:15-16 So they all know the person whose voice they always heard as God's chiefspokeperson back in heaven {Mark 1:24} that's why he is rightly called "the word of God" Most misinformed people often misconstrue that and spewing nonsense about Jesus but from his own expression it's clear that he differs from the person who sent him {Matthew 24:36; Luke 22:42} both of them have their individual mindset the son only love doing whatever pleases his father {John 8:28} that's all! What about along the line of Hebrews 9:22? Do you accept that Yahushua the Messiah is embodiment of the Ten Commandments? |

NNTR: Habakkuk 2:4 '“Look at the proud one, his soul is not right within him, But the righteous will live by his faith [in the true God].'
2 Corinthians 5:21 'He made Christ who knew no sin to [judicially] be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we would become the righteousness of God [that is, we would be made acceptable to Him and placed in a right relationship with Him by His gracious lovingkindness]'
Romans 3:22 'This righteousness of God comes through faith in Jesus Christ for all those [Jew or Gentile] who believe [and trust in Him and acknowledge Him as God’s Son]. There is no distinction,'
Righteousness by faith, simply means, a righteousness of God in Christ (i.e. the privilege of having a right standing with God by proxy Christ) that we accept and receive from God by and through faith (i.e. the currency of the Kingdom)
'Righteousness by faith' is optimised from having 100% faith in Jesus Christ and believing everything that Jesus Christ means, represents and/or stands for.

budaatum: I don't mind using my own forebears as a case in point, elated. As I wrote if you could bother to read, my great-grandfather left Ifa for Islam because they had a book with words in it that impressed him so much that he encouraged his own children to learn to read. Then thankfully, a book in his own language arrived so he abandoned the Qur'an for Bibeli Mimo and sent his grandchildren to Saint John's Anglican Primary School.
His grandchild, my father then read and found that humans who live by bread alone would become malnourished, so he read more books, and when he could not find enough to read where he was he migrated to where there are libraries in every borough with lots of books to borrow and read. And now there is me. A reader of books instead of a worshipper of books.
Only children and fools read books without using their minds to analyse and critique what they read. Smart people will ask and knock and seek for understanding instead. That's what Jesus did instead of merely believing the ignorant Pharisees who thought they too like you were righteous, and to whom he is written to have said give serpents instead of bread and "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to". So, your grandfather left Islam because the Akwụkwọ Nsọ that he given was in Yoruba language? Budaatum, as much as it will sadden you to hear, I am righteous. |

TenQ: The commands of Christ are His teachings all hinged on
Mar 12:30-31: "And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is none other commandment greater than these."
TenQ: Which of the ten commandments represent this?
Mar 16:15-16: "And he said to them, Go you into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believes and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believes not shall be damned." TenQ: Which of the ten commandments represent this?
Mat 6:12: "And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors." TenQ: Which of the ten commandments represent this?
Mat 5:44: "But I say to you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which spitefully use you, and persecute you;"
TenQ: Which of the ten commandments represent this?
I wish you can just humble yourself to learn from Christ!
Mat 12:5-7: "Or have you not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless? But I say to you, That in this place is one greater than the temple. But if you had known what this means, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, you would not have condemned the guiltless." YHVH forbid! I will not join you in pitting the Ten Commandments against any part of what Yahushua the Messiah said while he was on earth. The Messiah himself never did such. That would be tantamount to fighting against himself. Yahushua the Messiah cannot fight himself. He is the embodiment of the Ten Commandments of YHVH Almighty. Satan and his forces know what the teaching and obedience to the Ten Commandments do to their kingdom. |

KnownUnknown: Fine, I’ll answer first. I think it is abhorrent and is an example of the depravity that mankind is capable of if not instructed otherwise. If it relates a true story, it is akin to Boko Haram, Chibok girls et al. It shows that people can be made to commit atrocities in the name of god and still consider themselves the moral and ethical party. I consider the chapter to be an example of evil and wickedness with YHVH Almighty used as justification.

budaatum: Did you not read how my forebears abandoned Ifa for the Qur'an and eventually for the Bible? Do you not think that's because they accepted what seemed superior to them? You tell me, budaatum. You are the one who pitted your Ifa against Islam and Islam against Christianity. So, budaatum, you tell me. As for me, elated177, I am all for the Scriptures of my Father in heaven, YHVH Almighty, and strict and absolute obedience to his Ten Commandments. These constitute the premise of this thread. Budaatum, I don't know what Ifa is all about. There is a reason I chose to focus on your assertions bordering on your grandfather and not your great-grandfather. I am not a Muslim. I don't know what is written in the Quran. I can't say to any Muslim that he/she is not following what is written in his/her Quran because I don't know what it says. So, this thread is purely on the Scriptures of YHVH Almighty and those who claim to follow him. On the other hand, I am saint, servant and messenger of Yahushua the Messiah, I know what is written in his Scriptures and I accept and follow them. I have looked around me, assessed the lives of those who carry the Scriptures all over the place and claim to be the followers of the Owner of the same Scriptures and I have realized that they have nothing whatsoever to do with his Instructions. It is a foundation issue. How many parents today teach their children the Ten Commandments and the importance of obeying them? How many of such parents were taught same by their own parents? I will teach my children the Ten Commandments of YHVH Almighty and the importance of strict obedience to them. The message of the Scriptures is simple: obedience to the Commandments of the Owner of the Scriptures. Anyone who reads the Scriptures, which you, budaatum, call "book" and doesn't grasp this simple message has failed. Anyone who taught you the Scriptures and didn't teach you this simple message has deluded you. Isaiah 8:20.Consult God’s instruction and the testimony of warning. If anyone does not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn. Jeremiah 6: 16 This is what YHVH says: “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But you said, ‘We will not walk in it.’ Jeremiah 16: 19 YHVH, my strength and my fortress, my refuge in time of distress, to you the nations will come from the ends of the earth and say, “Our ancestors possessed nothing but false gods, worthless idols that did them no good. 20 Do people make their own gods? Yes, but they are not gods!” 21 “Therefore I will teach them— this time I will teach them my power and might. Then they will know that my name is YHVH.If our forefathers accepted this message, they would have taught the same to their children, who would have taught the same to their own children, who would have taught the same to their own children and so it would have continued to this day. If that had been the case, the society we live today would be a different one. Genesis 18: 18 Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and all nations on earth will be blessed through him. 19 For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of YHVH by doing what is right and just, so that YHVH will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him.”budaatum: But how the hell do you not see that accept never meant "worshipped" to them? Anyone who accepts what is written in the Scriptures of YHVH Almighty is a follower/worshipper of YHVH Almighty. It is that simple. budaatum: It's why I challenged your definition of "accept" all along as you implied blind acceptance instead of taking the book from who gives it you and reading it for yourself and using your own brain and mind to analyse what you read instead of ignorantly believing what you read. The message of the Scriptures is clear. Check above. budaatum: You learn from Ifa to be critical so no one's Gods can't blind you, and only fools throw their minds away and believe what others tell them even if they first write it in a book. Again, I don't know what Ifa is all about. Thank you, budaatum. You have successfully confirmed the premise of this thread that our forefathers never accepted what the Scriptures they were given relayed. It means, therefore, budaatum, that your great-grandfather - even with the book presented to him, according to you - never actually left the religion/beliefs/practices of his own ancestors. Don't you agree? I need to know what you think. It also means that your grandfather never left the ways/practices/religion/beliefs of the ancestors of his own father. Don't you agree? This is what I have been saying all along. Remember, budaatum, you were the one who made this about you great-grandfather, grandfather and father. We are only using that as a case in point. |
