The OP never said there was a caveat on the letter of administration. If there was one, the bank would have said so, and he would have been notified after checking with the probate registry. But that was NOT what happened in this case.

There is nothing like a Caveat on a LA. Again, I merely reacted to your response and not to the OP.

There are several reasons why a Bank my dishonor or delay in granting the instruction of the Administrators of an Estate. Unfortunately, the Bank here has not communicated there reason and all we are doing to speculate.

All they need is the letter of administration issued by the probate registry. All the names of the administrators are listed there.

Any name that is not included, does not concern the bank. If the family likes, let them have 100 other children that were borne by the deceased.

You are absolutely correct but law isn't technical. Once there is an objection against a valid LA, the Bank may be reluctant to release the money.

The reason is that it is better to hold the money while the family sort their differences rather than release the money and be directed by Court to pay to another party.

Mind you, once there is a protest letter against a Letter of Admin, it's safer to thread with caution as they may likely end up in court

whats the different between a busines name registration and incorporation?

Business name as it implies is a name under which you trade. There is no difference between you and your business name. Izbiz Ventures, Global Associates etc are all Business name and you can't sue the business name without joining the name of the owner of the business. The death of the business owner also brings the business name to an end.

Incorporation or Company on the other hand is different and distinct from its members. It's owned by the Shareholders. The death of the Shareholders doesn't effect it and it's not subject to probate.

I don't understand the number one question.

Share is the unit of ownership of a company. Your interest in a company is measured by the number of shares you have in it.

A company can be registered with 1M, 2M, 2.5M shares etc depending on your financial capacity and or the nature of business the company does.

If you have paid for the Registeration before the name expired, then the expiration is of no effect.

If you haven't paid for Registeration however, you will do a fresh search of the name. If it is denied, you can make a manual application attaching copy of the search report.
