After asking them to enact policies that shaft us everyday? Bloody w**kers! |
Ironfaceman:It's called Statutory Rape. In case you are still confused, switch the genders and check again if you see nothing wrong. |
Allison man of the tournament. What a performance!! |
Maybe the post should say PBAT influenced the return because if we are saying FG is reinstating a sacked Speaker (state or federal), then our democracy is in trouble |
Are we gonna blame govt for this one too? Until we start instituting death penalty or life imprisonment for some of these offences, people won't stop. |
happney65:If God forbid the same happened today, the same conclusions will be drawn. The optics were very bad for the Ibo people. Why? The killing patterns – only Arthur Unegbe of the 22 casualties is of Igbo origin, while notable Igbo politicians like the Premier of Eastern region, the senate president Nwafor Orizu(which was convicted for corruption years before) and high ranking military personnel like Aguiyi Ironsi were unharmed. The handing over of the government to Ironsi by Nwafor Orizu (the acting president and the senate president who could have called for the formation of another civilian government) made it look like it was planned out all along.[21] The unification decree of May 1966 promulgated by Ironsi, leading to the abolition of regional power and the unification of the regional civil service into a federal civil service [22] – Historically speaking, the West and North have always believed in the regional system of government as the best form of government for a multi-ethnic country like Nigeria, however this was taken away by Ironsi, leading to a massive outrage and pogrom in the North in May 1966. This happened a few months before the counter coup by Northern soldiers, which lead to the death of Ironsi, Fajuyi and many officers of Igbo origin. The coup plotters, though kept in jail, were never court-martialled and punished according to military procedure. On other occasions unsuccessful bloody coups meant death of the coup plotters, we can see the example in the coup attempts under Obasanjo(where Diya and other mutineers were killed by firing squad) and Babangida( where he had to kill Mamman Vatsa, his old time friend) While the whole mess may have been a product of incompetence, miscalculations, and sheer ignorance, it looks like one big conspiracy especially if you are of Northern origin. If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck. |
Touchy subject. Only those who get all their news from social media believed social media. From what I have read, Northerners then believed it was an ethnic coup. And if you want to blame them, take a look at the facts. Top Northern politicians were killed and their killing was bragged about on national TV by an office of Igbo descent. The Igbo president was not in the country. Excerpt from Wikipedia: "The killing patterns – only Arthur Unegbe of the 22 casualties is of Igbo origin, while notable Igbo politicians like the Premier of Eastern region, the senate president Nwafor Orizu(which was convicted for corruption years before) and high ranking military personnel like Aguiyi Ironsi were unharmed" Following which Aguiyi Ironsi, an Igbo man became Military head of state. And he went ahead to sign the Unitary decree which took power from the regions. And also failed to execute any of the coup plotters. This was 1966 when news traveled slower and we had lower education and literacy rates. If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck. If God forbid, a similar thing happened today, people will still draw the same conclusion. I hope we can all heal and move past these or go our separate ways if that will remove the distrust and suspicions because it's becoming sickening at this point. Most people spew hate online and have friends from the same ethnic group they hate so much. |
Who killed Giwa, na Baban, If you put Gida, na you sabi... |
Here we go again. Salary doesn't make people rich yet CEOs of big companies earn more than a state in Nigeria. Athletes own the club's that pay them 500k a week abi? This post reeks of shallow opinions |
He was never Annie's, it was just her turn ![]() |
Both Democrats and Republicans, different parts of the same seven-headed demon |
Whiteman committing genocide and stealing land....In other news, water is wet.. |
White men committing genocide and stealing land...In other news, water is wet |
For those asking, last I know, adultery is a crime under the penal code of justice which the Northern part of Nigeria practices. The south practices a criminal code of justice. Lawyers please help confirm.. |
Kindly mind your business up north please...SW has said no and no means no. |
I hope they take him to the cleaners. Awon plenty |
Giving this more media attention than it deserves. Most people don't care really. We hear of MURIC online more than we hear of them offline. |
IvarTheBoneless:FBI will get a warrant before tossing your house especially if you are not an immediate threat to anyone. The anyhowness is what is pulling us back in this country. 1dqzzqa |
After the prosecution, I hope civil lawsuits ensue. Until we start making example of people and companies, our unruly behavior won't stop. I fault the airline on the part where they had to verbally communicate about this. Ask everyone to sign a form and those that don't will wait for next flight. |
People regularly fall into those exposed man holes at night. There should be jail term for these vandals |
There is a breed that grows big. You have to rear it for long though. Last one I saw was reared locally for more than 6 months. |
Hard to take the OP (A known Zionist paid Hasbara troll) seriously again. They have consistently tried to manufacture consent for genocide here on Nairaland so we know their disinformation agenda. May the perpetrators be caught and dealt with. All terrorists in whatever nation either as non-state (ISIS) or state (IDF) actors must be condemned. |
200,000 dead Russians. 0 dead Ukranians. And they wonder why we don't trust MSM. Hypocrites |
pixel704:Except Hamas is a Political party and in charge of govt. Totally different from the the Qassam brigade which it the military wing. It's like saying all member of PDP or APC are guilty of the crimes committed by IPOB. See the difference?? |
Even the most Zionist newspapers are saying it was medical staff that were detained but the trash-heap that is Nairaland will allow anything to pass. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cx26v70n5z4o |
The organisers are to partly to blame. Did they not hear about the Oyo one a few days ago? We are also impatient as a people. The effect of wanting to jump line in small crowd is fatal in large crowds. The govt is wholly to blame here. This is an annual programme and we didn't hear of fatalities before, so govt policies that are making Nigerians poorer are wholly to blame. May the souls of all departed rest in peace. |
Even worn torn countries are not as bad as this. |
Kindly f*ck off sir. You and your principal |
temmyyem:It's insane how under-reported that interview is. MSM are all compromised and complicit. |
Agenda to sell that visit?? |
It's why they never feel the pain of the masses. Enacting policies that will cause pain because as he said, it don't affect them. What a very callous mindset to have for the people you are administering. In other countries, the leaders see the issues, they hear and listen to the complaints of the citizens, and they talk to the people, and with the people to offer solution, reassurances and empathy. But nah, every politician in Nigerian wants to form Idi Amin. |
Macphenson:Under the previous model, the state where companies have their headquarters will be the one to collect the tax. In this new one, the state where the product is consumed will collect it. Don't see how it benefits Lagos that much. |
