To say I am impressed is a highly exaggerated understatement.

Wow! This is really great.

If you can open source, it would be a really great motivation for Nigerian developers in particular and African in general.

Kudos and thumbs up.

PS: I better no let my people see this post, before them begin ask me wetin I go learn for school.

I don't know about Java, but I would suggest uploading the files to a folder rather than saving to a database.
Programming / Re: Help On This Code by elfico(m): 1:56pm On Jan 12, 2017
@OP, first of all, what Compiler or IDE are you using?

Because as I understand, what you doing currently is illegal in C++ except of course you are using C99 (a version of C that could be used as an extension in C++)

You cannot declare an array without a constant value at compile time. That is,

int numOfCourse;
int scores[numOfCourse]; //illegal.

You can solve this by using a dynamic array i.e, by using new and delete operators

a. int numOfCourse;
cin >> numOfCourse
int *scores = new int[numOfCourse];
//all other codes here
delete[] scores //very important

b.
int numOfCourse = 5; // declare the size of the vector
vector<int> scores(size, 0); // create a vector to hold "size" ints all initialized to zero
scores[0] = 1234; // assign values like a c++ array
Investment / Re: She Lost Her Money In A Ponzi Scheme Now She Is Threatening Me by elfico(m): 1:22pm On Jan 12, 2017
It has come to the stage where now find every opportunity to scam our neighbors and consider ourselves smart. Everybody who joins a ponzi scheme knows fully well that they are taking someone's money and that in the end some people would definitely lose. But not a typical Nigerian, so long as he is not affected, then its fair game. You might as well rob people at gun point because to be honest, I dont see the difference. The sad part is that they sell the idea to people who are ignorant of how it works just so that they can make quick cash and claim that they are "sharp".

These kids that have turned a once reputable forum like nairaland into some joke are always using zombie or afonja as their defense line in any argument.

I don't even know if am the only person here that think mr seun have to do something about this kids. Honestly, I'm beginning to find this forum very detasteful.

You can't make any comment without getting some silly lashbacks from dumb kids. Smh
Just use the "Report" feature. I do it all the time irrespective of whether the post is aimed at me or not. If everybody "Reports" offensive posts, the forum would become better.

I don't think Seun can do much about. Even giants like Facebook are trying very hard to stop things like these from taking place. And it does take place a lot.

For Andorid users, Android 6.0 comes with a feature called adaptive lightning. The feature automatically adjusts the screen brightness depending on the amount of light and it also reduces the color tone when Night falls.

Programming / Re: How Do I Use An Email Service In MVC5 by elfico(m): 8:23am On Dec 27, 2016
I would suggest that

1. You can use SMTP client class to send the email in the same code that is creating complaints.

e.g
CreatComplaint();
SendMailNotification();

2. Alternatively, if you have access to virtual machine, you could make the EmailNotifcations a window service that runs every 10 seconds (or how you want it). Then, whenever you creat a complaint, a notification is also created and stored in the database and after a few seconds, the windows service retrieves the notification from the database and sends it.

This is my 2 kobo. There may be other ways.

In my opinion, even if they were to use voting method, they could have handled it differently. For example, instead of putting all the stories on the website and sending the writers the link, I would have loved that they put a few of the stories on the website each day (without giving the authors the link) and ask people to read those and vote. That way you get to read a lot of good stories and vote whether you know the author or not. My story was not approved but I went there to read and vote other stories but the sheer volume of it made me stop.

Young exploited girl. . What a pity. Her mates are shopping in shop rite with their parents for Christmas
Wish she had a different childhood nd background.
But life ain't fair. cry

Most of this girls should be given up for adoption at a younger age. Their parents can't obviously care for them..

The said Mohammed does not approve Contraceptives (I remember when I was on a field assignment in a Muslim community, an Iman clearly told me that the don't subscribe to family planning or contraceptives, that Allah will take care of the children no matter how many).
We can see how Allah is taking care of them, the keep begging up and down dressed in Chelsea nd Barcelona Jersey..
Most are exploited, raped... So sad..

I'm not a bigot or tribalist.. I'm simply pointing out a defect in a Religious beliefs and culture
The Prophet (PBUH) never discouraged withdrawal method of birth control that was present during his time. you can google it. The same incomplete knowledge that the imam had is what you also have. you heard him say something and you took it as the norm without bothering to research.

O boy see the traffic for this thread.... shocked shocked

I would have loved to say "we told you" but no use kicking someone who is down.

Ponzi schemes never last for long. It would last as long as you have a large number of greedy people (which we have in Nigeria grin), but the supply will run out one day and you would have millions of greedy individuals who are thirsty for more.

It might not be the end but it really looks bleak.

If it resumes again by January, many people would quickly take their cash and become skeptical about it. The result is that supply dwindles and the whole thing implodes.

I just hope you PH'ers and GH'er (whatever that means) come out of it alright. I know its a long shot but.....

PS: Not a hater o.
