WHEN ARE YOU GETTING MARRIED?

I was with my parents over the weekend. It was a great time with them. Our conversations especially when I am about leaving them after a visit will end with a prayer.
But this time a good part of the conversation centered on marriage and so was about 86% of the prayer on getting married from the right family and settling down well....Hmmmmm.
You see, we all have this almighty question to answer now and then. In fact life in Nigeria is ideally viewed in a particular cycle:
Birth - Go to School - Graduate from University - National Youth Service - Work or Business - Marriage and Children, and then Work Work, Business Business - Raise Children - Work Work, Business Business - Death
I hope you can relate with that cycle
When you are done, your children obviously will continue with the next cycle starting from where you started.
Sometimes the Question, "when are you getting Married?" put lots of people under pressure.
The second pressure after this is *the pressure to do a societal wedding or the best glamorous wedding people in your circle have ever seen
So,
1. Some guys are pressured to borrow and do the wedding to impress and afterwards the young family spend their early months or years settling debts
2. The guy hurries to marry a lady he is yet to really know. The question again is how much can you really know someone? At least to the extent that you will not need a new introduction to your wife or husband after two weeks. Like "hi, this is my real me, the real spouse you married - forget about all those drama you saw before the wedding" # Speachless
3. The lady lets him in into the part of her that was meant to be reserved in a bid to make sure that doesn't delay the wedding. *You know what I mean.
4. The lady starts moving from one prayer house to the other in search for marital breakthrough.
5. The lady stops attending weddings only if compulsory. Because she wants to avoid that question that will likely come from an acquaintance "ehhen... Bukky, when are we coming for your own?"
The list continues...
Marriage is a good thing, and marrying early with a peaceful home afterwards is a great blessing. But while under the pressure, remember:
1. After the wedding, you will likely struggle to settle the debts alone. Them go just chop the rice, and do selfie with your magnificent reception venue and carry their bag go house.
2. You will be the first to reap the fruits of any decision you make concerning your future spouse - whether good or bad.
All the people advising you to do do do, may not be there afterwards. Some of them will just go go go.
3. Do your wedding according to the resources God has made available. Impress your wife afterwards at home. Don't give everybody fried
Rice during the wedding and sip garri two weeks latter.
4. Your prospective marital relationship should not sabotage your values. Don't compromise your godly values because of the pressure of loosing him.
5. You see, enjoy your life every inch. Don't let anybody make mockery of your single life. Go to events if you have to. The question "When are your getting married?" will come, and when it does just smile and say "Very Soon" Is it not that simple? # Smiles
Avoiding public appearance is not a solution. Who knows if he or she will be found in your next public appearance.
Enjoy your life, and appreciate God for every phase.
Ermmmmmm....My parents are still expectant and I won't fall their hands.

5 Things Love Cannot Be Blind To

There's a popular saying in this part of the world that love is blind. Honestly, I don't know the philosopher behind this saying or the relationship guru that postulated it as a fact. But unfortunately, it's becoming a national anthem sung by ignorant singles.

Many people who knew nothing about love would just swallow this phrase hook, line and sinker. And when they get into marriage, their eyes would be open to lots of things they were blind to.

How can you fall in love at first sight or say love is blind when you no next to nothing about the person - past, dreams, shortcomings, pursuit and you're yet to agree on the major issues of life?

Know this, love cannot be blind to...
.
1. Character
.
No matter how much you're intoxicated by love, a bad character will be repulsive and can never be tolerated. Do not think love would make someone with a bad character change. They can only pretend for a while but not forever.
.
If he raises his voice at you or bangs the table when he's angry, be sure that in marriage, it'll graduate to verbal insult and domestic violence.
.
When she's keeping things as a secret from you, just know that you'd be in for surprises when you enter into the marriage on the premise that love is blind.
.
2. Place of worship
.
Love cannot be blind to the place where you both worship. If your church believes in orthodox practices, it'll be difficult to marry someone who's pentecostal in their own belief.
.
An unresolved issue of the place of worship would affect your union, whose religious practice the children follow and if care isn't taken, it'll pull the relationship in asunder. This is why you must ensure that you don't just choose someone you like, let God lead you to the one He has prepared for you.

3. Purpose
.
When God brought Eve to Adam, he wasn't blind to what her role was in his life. Adam was doing something and he knew what she was going to do in his life.
.
Love cannot be blind to what you are to do in his life or what she is to do in your life. If you don't know God's purpose for your lives, your marriage will be like every other marriages - sex, make babies, live together as husband and wife, become parents and then grandparents. No impact in the society.

Do you know if he knows God's purpose for his life? If he doesn't, you'll have no role to play in his life. And if you as a lady doesn't know where you fit-in in his life, he'll abuse your role in his life.
.
4. Roles and Obligations
.
Husbands and wives have their different roles and obligations to play in the making of a successful marriage. Love cannot be blind to this fact.
.
It's not the duty of the woman to lead the family to pray, make important decisions, take the largest part in the financial administration of the marriage. No, women weren't made to be breadwinner. If by situation it happens, the man needs to man up and own up to his responsibilitie

.
I heard a testimony of a man who at the time of marriage, his wife to be earns more than him. But since it was God that joined them together, He went back to Him for a miracle and He did.
.
But boys in men's appearance will sit back and push the whole financial weight of the relationship on the woman. So my dear, if this is the kind of man you perceive you're with, don't let your love be blind.
.
Ladies, if you're the only one adding to the table without him making signs or efforts to support or show willingness to make progress, you'll be the husband of the family.
.
More so, it is not the primary role of a man to make meals or build the home; it's a wise woman's obligation. If you discover that she doesn't have what it takes to build the home, look before you leap because love won't do it in marriage.

5. Religion
.
Can two walk together except they be agreed? Disagreement between your religion is an issue love cannot be blind to or solve, agreement does. If a believer of Christ marries an unbeliever, such relationship cannot stand the test of time and even if it does, it's a violation of divine laws.

Note, love cannot change an unbeliever, the highest he or she can do is to pretend to believe in what you practice and when you end up in marriage, what they believe in will influence their life and relationship.
.
An unbeliever is a no-go area in marriage. Don't think love will be blind to it. That it worked for others doesn't mean it'll work for you. It's better to do what is right than to do what is wrong that others are doing.

Do you believe love is blind? Don't let the aforementioned points ruin it in marriage.

Sir, I have a question to ask you about male virginity. I have observed that female virginity is accorded more attention or better put, more importance than that of males. We have heard countless reasons why a female must maintain and keep her virginity. Now my question is, what does a boy, man, or guy benefit from being chaste? Male virginity, I love this. I was a twenty-seven-ye
ar-old virgin when I got married. My wife was also a virgin. Does virginity, whether male or female, accord benefits? Yes. Let me share one. On my wedding night, I had sex for the first time. It was November 4, 2000. That night, I had nothing to compare the experience with. I couldn't say it was better than sex with Ngozi, or the same as sex with Ruth, or any other lady in the world. No conflict existed in my mind. My wife couldn’t compare me with some dude or playboy.
That night with Tonye, my one and only wife, was great sex not better sex and I didn’t have to compare our sex life with various pornography styles. This is the beauty of virginity––a clean heart and a clean mind. We are having even better sex after fifteen years of practise with one another and our bed, by God’s grace, remains undefiled. ( Yes! Fifteen years anniversary celebration is a few days time!!!)
My brother, There was no intruder into our temples before we consummated our marriage, and there has been none ever since. Like Adam and Eve, we have been naked and not ashamed.
This does not mean I didn't have my struggles with sex. I got born again at sixteen, attended university of Benin, was a leader on campus, and I had my fair share of exposures to very fine babes (in and out of church fellowships). I had narrow escapes and was only saved by grace and mercies of God. I struggled with masturbation, until Christ gave me victory. I battled with lust and thoughts of evil. I confronted fatal attractions and sometimes, I lost some battles.
Nevertheless, Christ gave me victory. He taught me the principles of sexual purity. I learnt the path and the power of God. Above all, I learnt, "NEVER TEMPT TEMPTATION." I have documented all these and more, in my book, SEXUAL PURITY, IS IT STILL POSSIBLE, and my courtship novel, BROKEN BONES.
But hear me, If guys are supposed to be sex experts on their wedding nights, who would they have practised with? If ladies are supposed to be virgins on their wedding nights, who gave practice sessions to the guys? If guys seek to marry only virgins, who will marry the ladies they had practised with earlier? The answers to these questions should guide the way we relate with each other. Therefore, young guy, please do not leave virginity to the ladies alone. Please, defend and keep your virginity.
Today, I give you a charge. Rise up to be a true man. Defend "our little" sister around you. Don't take advantage of her. If she seduces you, be a Joseph. If she bathes naked, tell her your name is not David. If she allures you like Delilah, tell her that a greater than Samson lives in you. My friend, no more excuses. Our ladies are tired of broken men with empty trousers!

As I write this post, guess what is in my mind: "The attitude of Children towards things". I'll just point to a few so that you can have a firm grip of where I am coming from: (1) To a child, what is new today becomes old the moment another better one shows up. He can abandon what he has to chase after whatever now catches his fancy. To a child, nothing is permanently for keeps. (2) Children know how to cry for things but they don't know how to keep/preserve/ maintain things when they eventually get them. You can tell by the number of broken toys around them. You can tell by the number of fanciful clothes that they end up soiling in ignorance. (3) Valuable treasures are not for children. Before your very eyes they can reduce golden treasures to meaningless items. Their goal is mainly to have fun with everything, dump them and then, cry for new ones. (4) To a child, nothing is good again when soiled. He rather wants a clean one but can't keep it clean. It takes the presence of an adult to clean up what a child has made a mess of and to restore value to what a child devalues. I know this is already ministering volumes to your relationship needs. Well, I can now talk to you. Many months ago, God dropped a striking word in my spirit as I walked down the street to catch a lift for church service in a latest trouser and Italian shoes I got two months earlier but reserved for a special day. He said: "it can only be a new shoes once...." Did someone get that? I love this second part: "... but it can be renewed everyday". I'll tell you what that means later. That's obviously what a child cannot see. He doesn't see renewal. He wants a new thing every time he is no longer comfortable with what he has. Could this be the picture of someone's love life today? Can you remember when you first tagged her "the angel of your life"? What has happened today? Could it be that love got cold for a day? It can only be a new experience once but it can be renewed everyday. That's the excitement of a growing relationship- "renewed experiences". If you are not ready to invest into showing and sustaining love with anybody, don't wake it up! I learnt this the hard way but all the same, thanks be to God. Bro, sometimes, you don't need a new relationship but a renewed relationship. You don't need a new commitment with a new person but a renewed commitment with the one God has sent your way. ( At this point, permit me to define who I'm talking to by this write up. I'm referring to that young believer who has found true love by divine leading. And if you are reading this post, still donating your body to immorality in the name of a relationship, please walk out of that destiny cage with boldness. Turn to the cross of Christ in repentance) I can now continue: The test of experience is not in how many relationships you've been into in life. It doesn't make you a better man than you are. We should question the spirituality of any man that makes it a duty point to walk in and out of a relationship as he likes. That's not maturity. Maturity here is actually proven by the weight of positive investment you can put into loving one person to get love glowing. Falling in love is not always the difficult part but deciding to stay in love. Even Jss 3 boys now fall in love. I just laugh whenever I see them near the mango tree. This is an abnormality. Guys, don't threaten to dump any girl that has laboured so much to keep your relationship beautiful simply because a Delilah somewhere is smiling at you. Who told you Delilah's were marriage products? Value what you have. She is the same sweet lady of yesterday, Polish it out in her. She is more valuable than Delilah. Delilah can't stand by you when your eyes are gone but she can. Wake up the man in you! The fan is in your hand. Don't wait till love gets cold. Fan the flames everyday. Keep it burning. Get creative guys! Value communication. If there is nothing new to gist about, recycle old moments and discussions in new ways. Just make sure that you are increasing the fire. If love dies, the two adults were not talking. They were not communicating. Love dies when the fire of communication goes down. You can't take your eyes off things of value and still enjoy the value it gives. No lady outside is better than your wife or the future spouse God has just brought your way. Give her that exalted benefit/honour and build out the queen in her. Find true love. Maintain true love at your level. Send healthy constant communication down the roots. You don't need another relationship. Make this one in your hands an adventure. Yes, she likes it hot and sweeter.

Yakubu Gowon, former Military Head of State, has asserted that the current composition of Nigeria makes it impossible for the country to be restructured. Gowon explained that Nigeria is made up of over 500 ethnic groups and equal number of ideas about restructuring; therefore, instead of agitating for restructuring, the people must have faith in the indivisibility of the country . Speaking in Minna, Niger State; Gowon further noted that most states will frown at the option of merging with other states for the proposed restructuring into regions to occur. He said, “Nigeria is made up of over 500 ethnic groups, languages and dialects and so many various groups called nationalities and they want restructuring. This restructuring everybody is asking for, we will have about 500 different ideas of restructuring. “There is call for restructuring to reduce the number of states to only a few either back to the old region or to the zones. “Those are some of the ideas that I do not know whether it will be possible for any state today to wish to be merged with another state. Let us see whether our politicians will see guidelines to be able to achieve what they want. “But I have my problem whether the states will be financially capable to they will be able to run there states properly.”

There is serious tension in Delta State as unknown gunmen today attacked the Gbaramatu Traditional Council’s speed boat on official assignment and dispossessed its occupants including two prominent chiefs of their money and other personal effects along the Batan Creeks in Warri South-West Local Government Area.
Never Miss Out gathered that the speed boat was conveying the two respected Gbaramatu chiefs detailed to execute an official assignment when the gunmen, numbering about six, with sophisticated weapons hijacked the speed boat and sailed to an isolated area in the mangrove where occupants were robbed of their belongings with their eyes closed. It was also gathered that the gunmen later dropped the occupants at another mangrove forest and made away with the speed boat leaving them stranded. It took the intervention of a commercial speed boat plying the route from Warri to get those at the palace of the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Oporoza informed of the incident. Meanwhile, another boat was sent to ferry the victims back home. The Acting Secretary of Gbaramatu Traditional Council of Chiefs, Chief Godspower Gbenekama, confirmed the report in chat to Never Miss Out saying,”The bandits used a speedboat to ambush the Gbaramatu Traditional Council boat and hijacked it before sailing to an isolated place in the mangrove where occupants were robbed of their belongings.” Gbenekama complained that Gbaramatu people have continued to suffer in the hands of hoodlums unabated without any form of intervention from the security agencies. He appealed to the government to station some JTF gun-boats at strategic positions on the creeks route to Escravos to forestall further future occurrences.

The 18-year-old suspect yesterday led policemen to the forest where he and four members of the cult group he belongs to allegedly killed and buried the 24-year-old motorcyclist in a shallow grave. The state’s Police Public Relation Officer, Andrew Enwerem, a Superintendent of Police said John and four others who belonged to the Iceland cult, lured the victim to the forest on October 5. He said John was arrested on October 24 for stealing an amplifier from a church in Awara, upon interrogation, he confessed that his gang murdered and buried Eluwa in the forest. He also said the family of Eluwa had earlier reported to Ohaji Police Division, when he did not return home. “This is a case of robbery and murder. This man, who claims to be 18 years old and his gang members, robbed and murdered one Stanley Eluwa on October 5. “He was arrested on October 24 for stealing an amplifier from the New Life Bible Church. During interrogation, he confessed to the murder case. Today, (Thursday) he led the police and the family members of the slain man to the forest where they killed and buried the victim in a shallow grave. “The Commissioner of Police, Chris Ezike, has declared war on cultism. The CP believes that cultism is the mother of all crimes. We are getting the results and the CP is bringing new ideas to the table to make sure that cultism is thrown out of the state. “The suspect and others on the run belong to the Iceland Confraternity, which has been wrecking havoc on the state. “We are trailing the fleeing gang members. There is an ongoing operation in the state against cultism,” Enwerem added.

BME promoters explained that Davido breached their contract and accused him of lying about his unavailability on that day. The singer had on September 2 apologised to his fans, claiming he would have been arrested for credit card fraud like fellow musician, Dammy Krane, had he gone for the show. In a snapchat message, he wrote: “Damn they almost Dammy Kraned me smh! Can’t make the show in Colorado tonight! “We were at the airport for five hours. I’m so sorry! It was out of our hands and there was nothing we could do. “I will do all I can to make it up to you guys…God bless.” However, Davido’s apology did little to convince the organisers as they slammed the musician, stating that he deliberately missed the show. According to BME, three flights had been booked for Davido consecutively but he failed to honour any of them under the guise of a photo shoot. “We attempted to book a fourth flight for Davido but Davido failed to accept the fourth flight arrangement, stating that he wanted a direct flight into Denver. “We could not get him a direct flight to Denver, as there were none; all that was available was connecting flights. “Davido, who bluntly refused to make his flight three times, then posted on his snapchat that he was not going to make it to Colorado! We don’t owe Davido. He breached his contract!” BME said. A fan of Davido based in Colorado, Ayodele Akindele disappointed said “It is obvious that Davido is not telling the truth. That he was arrested is probably an excuse just to get off the hook. “We all came out and bought tickets for his show only for him to abandon us; it is so sad.”

She is now threatening to sue both the police and her husband and had contacted her lawyer to that effect. Two persons were reported killed at the weekend following a clash that ensued between the police and a vehicle driver at Tarzan junction, Nkpor, along the Enugu-Onitsha expressway in Onitsha, Anambra state. It was gathered that the police patrol team on stop-and-search duties at the Dennis Memorial Grammar School (DMGS) roundabout, had at about 6pm, flagged down the deceased with a Camry car for routine check. An eyewitness told newsmen that the driver’s refusal to stop as directed, led to his being pursued by the police team and was later accosted at Tarzan Junction, Nkpor amidst traffic build-up. “In a bid to search the vehicle properly, a melee ensued and the driver was shot by police, who unfortunately died on the spot,” the eyewitness said said. According to the source, fifteen bags of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp were recovered from the vehicle after a thorough search. Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State police Command, Nkeiru Nwode, said some miscreants, ignorant of the true facts behind the incident, took advantage of the situation for a mob action. She said all the police officers involved in the unfortunate incident are currently in custody where they are undergoing interrogation. “The Command wishes to use this medium to warn against spreading false rumors targeted at heating up the polity as the incident has no connection with any political party or its activities. “We wish to also appeal to members of the public especially those who witnessed the incident to feel free to provide useful information to the police in arresting the fleeing hit-and-run driver,” she said.

A 24-year-old housewife, Basira Sagiru, has been arrested by operatives of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) for pushing her sister-in-law into a pot of boiling water.

This was confirmed to newsmen in Abuja, on Saturday, by the Head, Press and Public Relations Unit of the agency, Josiah Emerole.
According to him, “Sagiru pushed her sister-in-law, who is living with her, into a pot of boiling water over a minor disagreement in the house.

“The victim, who is identified as Hasiya Ibrahim, suffered high degree burns before some good Samaritans rescued and brought her to our headquarters in Abuja.”

Emerole said that the victim was under the custody of NAPTIP for medical attention.

He said that after the suspect was picked up, the agency launched further investigation; adding that the agency would decide the next line of action when investigations were concluded.
Part of NAPTIP’s mission is to prevent all forms of human degradation and exploitation through law enforcement agents thereby uplifting the vulnerable, especially women and children.

Manchester United legend Denis Irwin is expecting the Red Devils to finally challenge for the Premier League title again this season following another productive summer transfer window.

The signing of Nemanja Matic from Chelsea, confirmed on Monday, took United’s summer spending to around £145million, with Jose Mourinho strengthening his squad in key places ahead of the new campaign.

Matic’s arrival – alongside fellow summer signings Romelu Lukaku and defender Victor Lindelof – is a big boost for Mourinho’s plans at Old Trafford, having enjoyed success with the midfielder during his second spell as Chelsea.

But Irwin admitted his astonishment that Chelsea allowed one of their main first-team players to join a direct rival.

Speaking to talkSPORT host Jim White, Irwin – winner of seven Premier League titles with the Red Devils – said: “I was a little bit surprised by the fact Chelsea are selling to their rivals who will be challenging for the Premier league next year.

“But Matic has done a fantastic job for Chelsea over the last few years and I suppose it was a bit of a thank you [to let him join United].

“Manchester United have got a tremendous player, a tremendous holding player, and they’ve needed somebody of that ilk.

“I think it’s a very good signing.”
