The yet to be fully accredited departments include: Education Igbo, Optometry and Medicine. All other programs are accredited. “We have 64 programmes, we have applied for public health department, they’ve been here and we’re waiting for their result. Out of these 64 programmes, we have accreditation in 61; because we had back-to-back interim accreditation in the other 3, they were denied full accreditation.”

Education / IMSU Best Comedian Wins 300k In Another State-wide Comedy Contest by Elijah107(m): 8:21am On Sep 24, 2018
Imsu Elijah

Just one year after winning the IMSU best comedian Award, Augustine Egu popularly known as Mc ChinekeBoy a student of Imo State University has already won yet another statewide comedy contest. Mc ChinekeBoy is clearly on a winning streak having also won the 2018 Aba got talent competition with a whooping sum of Three Hundred Thousand Naira.

Mc ChinekeBoy topped a list of over 300 jokes, compiled by a panel of comedy critics, and then voted on by members of the public, who did not know the identity of the comedians

During an interview, the 300L statistics student and I discussed what he plans to do with the 300k, how he felt about his championship and more.

Enjoy the interview and don’t forget Imo Media and Entertainers Summit is slated Oct. 4th.

As regards to your landslide victory.. Were you surprised that you won?

I didn't see it coming but I think its part of God's Promises in my life.

I guess it's kind of hard for you to judge how you did compared to the other comedians, right?

Well, yes.... Because I saw and met good comedians there... But I was prepared knowing that all of them did. As well.

A lot of the comedians I know, as soon as they finish a set, they immediately think of a word they missed or a botched transition from one joke to the next or something else they think went wrong. Did you have that in your head or were you pretty pleased with your set in the finals?

I was shocked, their performances were better than other days because it started since Feb./March.... so i was tensed... But I was so confident... mm yeah

That's so interesting... On a final note, what do you intend doing with the cash prize?

Getting my video camera which I already booked 2 weeks ago with faith.... A little give away to my fans and buckle up with business and my Comedy skit shooting..

Education / IMSU SUG Update: “we Have Not Given Any Date For Election” - Electoral Committee by Elijah107(m): 8:31pm On May 19, 2018
The protracted SUG election of Imo state university have taken a new dimension following the dissociation of the electoral commission from an alleged date being circulated online for the re-run of the election.

It has been alleged in a section of the social media that the SUG election which went inconclusive on January 26th has been re-scheduled to hold on Friday 25th May. Following this back drop, the 17th republic electoral committee under the chairmanship of Mr. Clinton Uzoukwu has come out to say that it has absolutely nothing to do with the purported date.

In a chat with the wireless team recently in the campus, the chairman, Mr. Clinton maintained that a dully signed Memo is always dispersed to faculty representatives once there is a recent happening, but in this instance, none have been sent.

He said “We have not given a date, if UNECO gives a date, a dully signed Memo by the electoral chairman would be sent across to all faculty representatives, informing them of the development”.

He maintained that issuing a memo has always been the culture, recalling that when the election time-table was uttered, a dully signed memo was dispersed to faculty representatives informing them of the blooming incident.

Answering to who was to be held responsible for the outcome of the election on January 26th, the electoral chairman said “the election that was cancelled is nobody’s fault; I will always take the blame because I am at the helm of affairs and answerable officially, but when you scrutinize it properly, you will discover it doesn’t fall to me”.

He continued “I really want the election to come, the school management is in support that it comes, my team (electoral members) are also in support; the election will come but it will take a little rigorous process and we are on it” he voiced.
He furthered that the School Management has not called the UNECO to brief them pertaining to any proposed election date but advised all aspirants who are still in the aluta-struggle to be very ready as the real election date will be officially announced soon, he concluded.
