Popular comic actor, John Okafor better known as Mr Ibu, has reacted to a statement posted on Instagram by a female fan claiming that he had a one-night stand with her.

The Nollywood actor said although he posed for a photo shot with the fan in question, he never had sexual intercourse with her. Recounting what happened, he said:

“The woman approached me to take a picture with me alongside her husband. She said she happily posted those pictures she took with me without any write-up. It was when a blog carried the picture that a write-up appeared from nowhere.

“I initially called police to arrest the woman, but she came to my house with her family to apologise that she would not have posted the picture had she known it would cause trouble. She swore that she would not have a child, if she ever wrote anything evil about me. I believed her. I told her that she did nothing wrong by posting the picture.”

The actor described the offensive statement as the handiwork of unknown enemies who were planning to tarnish his image. Pleading with members of the public not to believe everything they read online, Ibu also claimed that some people, in an attempt to rubbish his name, had hacked into his social media accounts and impersonated him. He said:

“I know that I have enemies. They were the ones who put that write-up to tarnish my image, but they can never succeed because I have never stepped on anybody’s toes and I will never do it. I only want to upgrade people and make them happy.

“Some people are trying to pull me down. I’ve witnessed instances where hackers used my account to defraud other people and upload all sorts of nonsense about me. But I always tell people that I am not the owner of those accounts.”

On his ongoing movie project, Ibu described it as the biggest he had done till date, while disclosing that a major Hollywood actor had been billed to appear in the movie.

Residents of Lagos State have urged the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to eschew political sentiments and support Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for a second term.

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has filed charges against Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in the upcoming Osun state election, Senator Ademola Adeleke, at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The charges against the Senator include examination malpractice, aiding and abetting, impersonation, and criminal conspiracy.

The School Principal of Ojo-Aro Community High School, Egbedore Local Government Area, Osun State, and three others are also to be arraigned for what the police describes as conspiracy with the Senator.

Police spokesperson, Jimoh Moshood, told journalists on Wednesday that investigations revealed that Senator Adeleke and his brother Sikiru Adeleke registered and sat for the National Examination Council Examination (NECO) 2017 as internal candidates, impersonating students of the school at the ages of 57 and 42 years respectively.

Reprieve appears to have come the way of embattled Sen. Ademola Adeleke as the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has confirmed that the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State, sat for its examination in 1981.

The sub-regional examinations body made the confirmation in its response to an order made on September 11 by a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), in Bwari, Abuja, directing it to produce Adeleke’s result.

In its affidavit sworn to by Henry Sunday Adewunmi Osindeinde, a Deputy Registrar Head of School Examination Department, WAEC, said Adeleke sat for the May/April 1981 at Ede Muslim High School, Yidi Road, Ede, with Centre Number: 19645 and Candidate Number 149.

Former basketball player Jason Maxiell has said that he had slept with 341 women before and during his marriage.

He made this revelation on Iyanla Fix My Life TV show, a revelation which left his wife Brandi shocked.

Bet.com reported that she was shocked because she didn’t know her husband cheated up to that extent until he made the confession during the interview.

Maxiell gave the exact number of women he cheated with after the show host, Iyanla Vanzant probed if they exceeded 50, he agreed and said that they were, “341 women. But I did do it.”
He said he cheated that much, “Just to stay away.”

On how he managed to bed that number of women, he said, “Before it was easy to do. It was a pleasure. But when I found my wife it became difficult.”

In the video of the show available online, his wife was visibly upset but didn’t say much other than “that’s disgusting.”

When Brandi was asked why she thinks it is disgusting for her husband to sleep with 50 women as opposed to sleeping with the initial 10 her mentioned, she said even “8 was a lot for me.” She stood up and walked away from the whole interview.

Brandi and Jayson tied the knot in 2010 and will be marking their 18th anniversary soon, a source said.

A former governor and senator representing Kebbi Central constituency, Alhaji Adamu Aliero, has on Sunday made known his intention to represent his constituency for the third time in the Senate.

The two-term governor submitted his nomination form to seek re-election at the State APC Secretariat in Birnin Kebbi in company with hundreds of his supporters.

On the occasion, the former FCT minister pledged to continue to provide dividends of democracy to his constituents, the state, and Nigeria.

“I thank you for the confidence reposed in me, I promise to offer selfless service to humanity, ” he said.

He urged the people to collect their Permanent Voter Cards to re-elect President Muhammad Buhari and the state governor in the 2019 elections.

The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige has said that would have been in ruins if President Buhari was not elected to pilot the affairs of the country in 2015.

Ngige made this known when he spoke with journalists in Onitsha, Anambra State on Sunday/ According to him, the All Progressives Congress met the country in tatters when it took over from the Peoples Democratic Party about three years ago.

He expressed surprised that Nigerians were not “clapping” for Buhari for reviving the economy of the country from what he called a state of comatose. He said:

“Don’t just talk about that. We are wonderful with the economy; nobody, I mean no person would have done better than this present government in those two areas. I want you to take something away and that thing is that any other person handling this situation; economy, security, it would have been worse.

We came in and oil nosedived to 37 dollars a barrel with a production of 600,000 per day, a drop from 2.2 million and yet we managed the economy out of recession. Nigerians should be clapping for us on daily basis, and after thanking God, they should thank us. Yes, because God has used Buhari and some of us to make Nigeria work”.

The Minister added that the Buhari government had created over eight million jobs through agriculture and allied industries, stressing that previous governments had depended on oil money and failed to diversify the economy.

“We’ve encouraged people and said there is dignity in labour with the hand. Today, we are second to America in world production of sorghum; today, we are importing about four per cent of the rice needs of the country. Prior to that, this country was spending $5m daily on rice and about $1.8b annually on rice importation. And you don’t want to clap for us”

He described those complaining against the Buhari government as”loafers looking for appointments and air-conditioned jobs.”
