Firstly, I would like to describe what resolution means. Well, it is very Simple and quite comprehensible enough.
Resolution means a Decision or determination to do or not to do something and being firm about it.
Over the years, we have heard people say, I will stop doing this, I will stop doing that, I want to start doing and behaving in this Manner. I want to act in this new way going forward. However, such decision is most prominent during the start of a New year especially during the crossover Night when most people go to church to promise and make vows to God that they would deviate and desist from some unwholesome acts by turning a new leaf in the coming year.
Smokers will say they will stop smoking.
Drunkards will resolve to stop drinking
Womanizers and Manizers would vow to stop.
And so on.
I observed closely and noticed that, after these multiple resolutions are being made, some keep up with it for the first two weeks of the new month of January, some, till the end of January, then In February, they are unable to continue and they relapse. Sometimes even worse. Regardless of all these, there are a few who keep up to their new year's resolutions for life. But such amount of people is only in the minority. It is not enough making new year resolutions, it's about standing firm by it and implementing same.
My question is, what do you have to wait till the new year before making these resolutions? A bad habit and poor lifestyle would need to fixed before the turn of a new year so it doesn't kill you. The new year could be late.
I pray God helps you to keep to your new year resolutions cos I can understand how difficult it is. Change is never easy, it is gradual and painful especially when changing from bad to good.
