With Mbeumo confirmed, what position or player would you want the club to sign next?
According to Ornstine the club want 3 more players. A striker, a DM and a GK.

So it's between Sesko and Watkins.

Who looks like the striker solution in your opinion?
There seems to be a dearth of top strikers in football now but Watkins will be at best a stop gap. He's not a world class striker.

Seems Watkins is the most likely at this point. It depends on Villa’s evaluation.
He might be the cheapest available
Watkins to me doesn't look like the striker solution we are looking for.

You only do so much. The current crop of players have always flattered to deceive, you can choose to tell yourself otherwise but look at Antony, Garnacho, Rashford, Hojlund, Mount, Maguire, Shaw, Dalot and others to numerous to mention, have they done enough to make you think it's Amorim that is the problem?
The players aren’t as bad as people make them out to be. We’ve seen some of them leave and suddenly start balling elsewhere. So yes, while the squad has flaws, the real issue is underperformance and that falls squarely on the manager.

If one or two players are off-form, fine. But when an entire squad turns to passengers week in, week out, it ceases to be a player problem, it becomes a coaching one. That’s exactly why ETH was sacked and everyone here agrees. Which begs the question, how did you guys go from sweating inside the frying pan… to now pretending fire is comfortable?

People are now making excuses for the kind of things thought impossible under previous managers.... Was Eth sacked so we could actually go lower? If that was the plan, then it's working perfectly.

LooL. I’ve always been a major shareholder in Operation back-the-manager, especially after Mourinho was sacked. Realized a long time ago that managers alone aren’t the problem. If we want to keep up, we have to keep strengthening our squad.

You’re anti Amorim because the ETH you stuck with was sacked. You’ll only keep getting bitter because of that hate. Cos after Amorim is sacked and his replacement doesn’t get a good squad, there’s little chance he will make it.

We go all out in one window and fall flat in the next instead of building up on the previous one. It’s a recurring theme. I just hope the same mistakes are not repeated this window.

Cos once the window closes and the season starts, everyone will disregard how bad the TW was and be on the neck of the manager to perform magic.

Rinse and repeat.
I am anti Amorim because he's the worst manager I have ever seen manage us since I started supporting this club and it's not even close. The person he was sacked for kept us from being relegated. Now get that into your thick skuurrrs.

I can understand backing a manager who has shown promise, but what promise have you seen from Amorim so far?

Tunde Bakare on Buhari: "Truth be told, I had the opportunity to speak to him privately many times, and I will not go public against anyone who I had close relationship with. Normally, I will first present it behind the scene. One of the few occasions that I spoke loud outside of private discussion was what happened in Sunday Igboho's house. I was really livid and remembered saying, 'you'll never see me again.' And then he sent for me and said, 'do you know I know nothing about it'." — Tunde Bakare
So what exactly was he commanding as the GCFR? Imagine the level of cluelessness and incompetence at the top level

I actually share most of those agbado guys' sentiments. Bayo Onanuga is not the model presidential spokesperson, he's best fit for a party's spokesperson. He can attack, fight member of opposition party dirty online and on the media, but he's not a top quality material for a presidential spokesperson.

There's some level of decorum that's expected of a presidential spokesperson, there's some level of cool headed expected to address issues and put forward the reaction of the president to critical issues ; he lacks all of that and more.

He just wants to sound like a "banger boy" (or man) and that doesn't make a good presidential spokesperson. He doesn't write like one who has any idea of what public relations is at all. He's always confrontational in his approach to issues ; sometimes I think he forgets he speaks for the president of a country that has over 200 million people who may or may nkt always agree with the president. He just writes like it's "them vs us" which is how a spokesperson of a political party thinks.
100 percent.

LooL. We all know you’re anti Amorim because your darling ETH was sacked.

Amorim hasn’t had one proper transfer window but you want to throw him away.

How much did your ETH spend in his first season? How many of the players he met on ground did your ETH improve?

Better chill.
See this one forming like he wasn't a major shareholder in the Eth-Trust Holdings. You that was proudly waving the Eth flag till the last minute is trying to shame another person about Eth 😭

And yes I’m Amorim out with my full chest because nothing I’ve seen from him suggests he’s taking us forward. In fact, we only escaped relegation thanks to the points the man he replaced left behind.

Someone that banished arguably our best attacker, signed two defenders in a January where we desperately needed goals and you want me to be patient because of what? Vibes and training pictures?
And lastly managers are judged by what happens on the pitch, not fantasy transfer windows.

Standards? Is that not what Amorim is trying to set?

The likes of Rashford and Garnacho who feel they're too big to play for the team have been shown the door but the problem here is that the management won't back the manager in the market. The majority of the current crop of players don't not possess the right mentality and have refused to step up.
You and I don't see the standards behind the scenes. We can only see the standards on the pitch and judging by what we've seen so far, Amorim is setting a pretty low standard for everyone involved.

I no just understand. We be Everton?

A club like Manchester United should be aspiring for the title every season. The management should provide the manager with the needed tools to achieve that. And if the manager fails in delivering a reasonable result, he should be sacked.
Lol so you just discovered Jesus or was it some third-eye enlightenment that finally opened your mind? Now it’s dawning on you that we’re not Everton after spending last season defending disaster while we were collecting b2b Ls like souvenir packs?

When we were screaming for standards, you were handing out excuses, now that your eyes have been opened, welcome to the truth. We’ve been here.

Same mentality I addressed. Finish top half of the table and win back to back games. Hehehe

Don't replenish your team. Be looking for a coach that will manage the resources and set up to their strength so you can finish top half of the table.
This is wildly ironic. You and your fellow Amorim-sexuals that defended our worst league finish in years and backed the manager responsible are now claiming to have elite mentality 🤣

Meanwhile, those of us who demanded better, who said this squad is capable of more than what the results showed are somehow the ones pushing mediocrity?

The mental gymnastics here is astounding. You can’t defend failure and then wear ambition like a badge. Pick a struggle Mr mentality monster.

You see where the problem is. You people want us to be a team that stays at 8th place. You guys don't see us challenging for anything meaningful.

We say we shouldn't buy players that will just suit 343. Okay buy players to suit the team's aspirations, no.

Every other coach that came before Amorim got players but you guys want Amorim to perform magic without strengthening his team?
Since when did winning back to back games and at least finishing in the top half of the table became performing magic?

Buhari restored Nigeria’s global standing... Please, how? The only thing that hit global headlines under his watch was the record breaking wave of Nigerians fleeing the country like never before since the history of the nation. Maybe operation japa was his foreign policy.
