We Nigerians place too much importance to religion. |
Nothing shall stop him i know that for sure. |
100Cents:Not really. But of course, they are also entitled to their personal opinions which their followers would always want to adopt. |
We're right behind you sir. But i sense some conflict somewhere. A certain redeem pastor seems to be in support of GEJ. |
President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday said his administration has fought corruption more than other past administrations in the country, asking the opposition All progressives Congress, APC, to tell Nigerians how it would tackle corruption if voted into power in the country. Jonathan spoke in Enugu while flagging off his second term re-election and governorship campaign at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium. The South East flag- off rally attracted a large crowd of party supporters from the five south east states of Anambra, Abia, Imo, Enugu and Ebonyi States. The President, however, tongue lashed the presidential candidate of the APC, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, saying that the former head of state wanted power to throw people into jail as was the case in 1983, when he threw into jail, Igbo politicians like the former Vice President, Alex Ekwueme, the former governors of old Anambra and Imo States, Chief Jim Nwobodo and late Chief Sam Mbakwe respectively among others out of sheer wickedness. His words, ‘’Chief Alex Ekwueme; Sam Mbakwe were all thrown to jail by Buhari. Chief Jim Nwobodo was jailed 301 years before the successive administration released him. Corruption is fought by blocking loop h***s where public funds are looted from. “We are fighting corruption through Information Commun-ication Technology,ICT. Our method is technology driven. We have changed the way we do government businesses. The fertiliser distribution scheme, which go directly to farmers is a key example. “We have also modernised the system of salary disbursement through technology. This is one of the ways we are fighting corruption in the system. You do not fight it by locking people in Kirikiri and closing down their businesses. That is why the economy collapsed under Buhari’s watch. GENDER FRIENDLY: Jonathan urged women in the country to vote for his re-election, saying that Buhari never appointed a woman in his cabinet as military head of state. He however, commended the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP, governorship candidate in Enugu State Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for towing his line by being a gender friendly governorship candidate. Cecelia Ezeilo is the running mate of Ugwuanyi. “Buhari never appointed any woman into his cabinet. Our women had all the qualifications and experience at that time. If you make the mistake of voting him, you will not be liberated. You will remain in the kitchen and die,’’ he said. INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT: Jonathan enumerated the achievements of his administration in the south-east geopolitical zone especially Enugu State to include the upgrading of the Akanu-Ibiam Airport to an international status saying that the airport would commence full international operations in 18 months. “I visited the international terminal as I landed. I told the contractor handling the project to shorten the completion time so that our people who are commerce driven can fly to any part of the world from Enugu. We have flagged off the Enugu-Port Harcourt inter-city passenger mass transit train quiet recently. “We have completed over 2,000 kilometres of roads in the region and built irrigation dams that will boost agriculture in the area. Our auto-mobile policies have been friendly that is why Innosson and ANAMMCO are now rearing up their heads; assembling cars in the state. PVCs: The President assured Nigerians that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had been directed to issue Permanent Voters’ Cards, PVCs, to all registered voters nationwide to enable all voters exercise their franchise during the forthcoming election. There's only one left to deliver. Sai Buhari.. |
Ewuro4:Modified. Sorry for my previous post. |
alexlee50:Calm down. If i had said anything wrong, why not pinpoint it rather than wishing me evil. You claim to be matured but your post say nothing about it. None of your wishes for me would come to pass. Anything you wish for me, is indirectly returning to me. Take your time to read what you wrote. I agree that my previous statement was wrong but it still doesn't warrant an insult from you. |
hyfr:Not really. The change is within ourselves. |
We need change in Nigeria! This is a serious issue of unemployment. |
December 2, 2014 was a sad day for Mrs. Bilikis Balogun. That day, she learnt that her innocent nine-year-old girl, Nofisat, had been sexually assaulted by their 30-year-old neighbour, Ikechukwu Obasi, while she was in the market.
|
Everyone knows what he is. |
Is that he can make out of Sai Buhari? If yes, he still doesn't know what's ahead of him. |
Is that the only flaw he can think of? Well, it doesn't matter! Buhari all the way! |
These are just trials. He'll surely triumph. |
THE son of kung fu star Jackie Chan was sentenced to six months in prison on Friday after admitting drugs offences, a Beijing court said. Jaycee Chan, who like his father has worked as an actor and singer, will be released in mid-February, having already spent five months in jail. State broadcaster China Central Television showed Chan pleading guilty in court, wearing a black jumper and blue trousers, flanked by two policemen. "I broke the law," he said, appearing attentive and respectful of the proceedings. "I deserve to be punished. When I return to society, I definitely won't do it again." Chan was detained in August and charged with providing a venue for others to use drugs after police said they found 100 grams (3.5 ounces) of marijuana at his home in the Chinese capital. An hour and 22 minutes after proceedings began, the Dongcheng District People's Court posted on a verified social media account: "He was convicted. He has been sentenced to six months in jail and fined 2,000 RMB," or renminbi ($320). The court also said that his "detention" will end on February 13. Chan and Ko Chen-tung, a Taiwanese actor also known as Kai Ko, both tested positive for marijuana according to state media, and Kai made tearful televised confessions. At least 10 locally known stars were detained on drug-related charges last year, state-run media have said. The arrests have been seen by observers as part of a wider campaign on morals by Beijing, which has also targeted prostitution and the wider drugs trade. Around 200 mainly domestic journalists at the Dongcheng court were allowed to set up their equipment outside the building as the defendant arrived, and reporters were invited to wait in a conference room in the court building, where staff gave updates while handing out bottled water and tea. The scene was far removed from trials of Chinese dissidents, which domestic journalists generally do not attend except for a select few from state-run outlets. Foreign journalists at sensitive hearings are often aggressively targeted by plain clothes police if they go within even a few blocks of the courthouse. Jaycee Chan has featured in several films but has not so far won the acclaim earned by his father, one of Asia's best-known actors with a string of Hollywood hits to his name. Shortly after his son's detention, Jackie Chan said in a post on China's Twitter-like Sina Weibo that he was "extremely angry and extremely shocked". "As a public figure, I am ashamed. As a father I feel terrible," he said in August. A total of 7,800 people were arrested for drugs offences in Beijing between January and August last year, state media reported, an increase of almost 72 percent on the same period in 2013. There were 26,000 "registered cases" of drug use in Beijing in 2014, up 10 percent year-on-year, according to police, who claim "singers, actors and film directors" comprise 0.15 percent of drug users in the city. Use of recreational drugs has risen in recent years in China as an economic boom has boosted the middle classes' disposable income. GEJ has lost it already. |
Well, he's making a point. But GEJ isn't a saint either. |
Story for the gods. |
Lol. That's only a fraction of your tv set. |
Politicians are like nappies. They should be changed often - and for the same reasons. |
This is funny. |
I even got tired of reading your post. |
True facts though |
