Aventures: if you can run this section thru external an some major foundation wall within. you are saved from cracks. cos it is diffrential settlement that causes crack in most cases. since block can only resist compressional force so it gives way at any slight tensional force. with this u will have a uniform settlement.

Am about to build 5 bedroom b/galow and some of the houses beside my site has a craking wall and is not a swanpy land. What can some one do to prevent this

I am also building a 4BR bungalow in Ibadan.
From what i learnt  from this thread,i will advice you to
do the german floor.
The price of cement should be 1850 naira per bag.
Sand is 13k per trip.
Instead of gravel i will advice you to go for granite.
Its just 2,200 naira per tonne,it is more economical compared to gravel.
Labour is not all that expensive,i paid 40k for every 1000 blocks laid.
Anyway am not an expert,but make sure you get the best hands to do the job for you.
