Joagbaje: You ought to pay the tithe in the place where you worship. That doesn't take the place of giving to the poor . We must all remember the poor. If you dedicate a tenth or 20% of your income to the poor its good and acceptable but it does not take the place of your offerings to God and the place of tithes to God.There are several givings in Gods kingdom , one giving should not take the place of another .

Jesus even said that anyone who denies the parents their honorarium claiming since he had given to God he doesn't need to give to his parents again that such a one is not free.

blaksmith: If this law is ever passed, it will be declared unconstitutional when challenged in court. You can't visit the sins of the Father on the son. What is the correlation between being a public official and having your children school abroad? Bear in mind the phrase public official is very generic and all-encompassing. By my understanding it would mean ANY employee or representative of ANY government institution...so if your father or mother works in NTA or Radio Nigeria or LASTMA or FRSC...you would not be allowed to improve your academic qualifications outside the shores of the country. Absolutely ridiculous!!!

RATHER THAN PASS SUCH A LAW WHY NOT PASS A LAW THAT OBLIGATES AT LEAST 10% OF ANNUAL BUDGET BE SPENT ON EDUCATION...

And for the bunch of you hailing it as a welcome development, can you honestly say you've have considered the true ramifications of such a law? No would be your obvious answer!

Nonnyz: The law to prohibit Public Official's children from studying abroad at whatever level is indeed a welcome one. Then, what happens to the children of Non-Public Officials? Will they be an exception to this law? Will the curbing of this abnormality cause for the upgrading of our Institutions (Federal and State owned)? Or will more exorbitant privately owned Institutions evolve, to cushion the bar to going abroad for papers? I strongly buy the idea to placing a bar to studying abroad but it should not be directed to Public Officials only, it should cut accros all and sundries.
