The traditional ruler of Owo town, in the Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State, Oba Patrick Fasinu, who was on his way back from a meeting of traditional rulers in the state which held at Ilaro, was reportedly ambushed by assassins, who dragged him out of his car, axed him to death and then burnt his corpse alongside his car. 

The incident which happened last Wednesday, July 26th, was confirmed by the state's Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who further said investigation into the incident has commenced.

It was gathered that the driver of the late monarch has been arrested, as the axe used in the killing the deceased has also been recovered.

Nnamdi Kanu's visit to Imo State yesterday was a blessing to some people, while to some Imolites it caused them unexpected difficulties. 

Some Imolites who were interviewed by a Vanguard correspondent, said they had to take the decision of spending the rest of the day celebrating the visit of Nnamdi Kanu, while some motorists said that it was not a savoury experience for them as they were trapped in a hold up for more than eight hours.

Also the street hawkers said that they had never experience the kind of patronage they had during the visit of IPOB leader.

Even those selling Biafra insignias, asked Kanu to come for second missionary journey and that his coming brought blessings and food on their table. Also 28-year-old Chima Mbata from Nkwerre Local Government Area, Imo state, said he got healed of his two days headache after sighting Kanu from the crowd.

Iheme said: “I was in the House and my mother called me to come out and see Nnamdi Kanu, at Orlu road roundabout, I told her that I can’t come because I was not feeling fine.

“But she insisted, then I managed to come out immediately I saw Kanu, I was healed. I become stronger and joined other young men in the struggle.”

Also, speaking to Vanguard, a sachet water seller, who preferred the name, Juliana Ugo, from Ebonyi state, said:

"I made up to 11, 500, I have never realised this type of money before as a pure water seller, to the extent that there was no where you can get pure water. Some of us who still have it in their stock started selling it for N20 each while some sold a sachet for N30.”

A 7-year-old boy identified as Solomon, abandoned for allegedly being a wizard by his family have been rescued by members of PACT, Reach Out Life International Foundation (Rolif) and PACT Akwa Ibom Coalition, and is now receiving treatment at Uniuyo teaching hospital after being hit by a driver who ran after the incident.



Here’s PACT’s statement;

“This little boy of about 7 years is dying on the street of Uyo by Udi Street. We encountered him yesterday night during our regular outreach. He is one of the abandoned kids. He was nocked down by a vehicle who never cared about him since nobody really cares about kids like this. As at the time we met him, he couldn’t use his body and hands. The wounds are decaying and his ears filled up with flies. We are pleading for help from any corner so as to deposit him at the hospital for cures before any other step could be taken about him.”
In an update:
“The child Solomon is now receiving treatment at Uniuyo teaching hospital. Thanks to the kind attention and support of David Emmanuel Umem who has assisted PACT and Reach Out Life International Foundation (Rolif) a member of PACT Akwa Ibom Coalition to help this child”

3 consignments containing 140 species of snakes and 660 other animals imported into Nigeria from Cameroon, was intercepted on Wednesday by Nigeria's Customs Service. 


The other animals which inlcude geckos, millipedes, hairy frogs and spiders said to be worth about N6.9m, were brought in aboard a Cameroonian vessel, MV Flesh, through the Calabar waterways to the National Inland Waterways Authority jetty in Calabar, Cross River State.

The Customs Area Comptroller in charge of Calabar Free Trade Zone, Mrs. Nanbyen Burromvyat, said the consignments were intercepted by vigilant officers on July 24, 2017. 

She said the consignments, which were Lagos-bound, were prohibited items under the Schedule 3 of the Revised Import Prohibition List (Trade) in the Common External Tariff.

She said: “These containers have animals of different sizes. They were brought in on July 24, 2017, through this Calabar waterway. The consignment was spotted by our vigilant officers and they contain live animals.
“There is no provision for permit to bring them in. We are seizing them and handing the containers over to the Nigerian Quarantine Services for further necessary action.
“I do not know what they want to do with it, but I think it will be dangerous for us because it contains snake, spiders, geckos and other creatures. We have enough snakes around Nigeria already and it will be suspicious importing this. I do not know what to think because I do not know what they can be used for.”

Two armed robbers met their waterloo in Egbeda area of Lagos, after they snatched a bag containing money a lady withdrew from Zenith Bank.

It was gathered that the two guys riding an okada bike came from nowhere, to snatch the money from the woman after she withdrew from a Zenith Bank branch situated at Faith Bustop along Egbeda-Ikotun Road, Thursday around 8:30 am. However while trying to get away,  a mobile Policeman shot at one of them and he died instantly.

Nollywood actress, Stella Damasus who has been in United States for her movie, has reacted to a post her husband, Daniel Ademinokan, made on Instagram telling her how much he missed her and why she should hurry back home, while also hinting that he suffered mental abuse from his ex-wife, Doris Simeon.

Now every one has been asking why the Fshaw was unmasked yesterday. However we dug deep and got to know that, Fshaw had been with the EFCC for the past year as a corp member.

His stay as a corp member with the agency ended yesterday, and Fshaw has decided to move on from the job to pursue his carrer in music. In just a few hours after his identity was unvelied, his twitter followers increased from barely 2,000 to over 17,000.

Fraudsters are already setting up a fake account with his name, and he has tweeted a disclaimer.

Blackface who was recently interviewed by HipTV, alleged that he wrote African Queen and Tuface is yet to acknowledge him for that.

On fellow bandmate Faze's move to reconcile them, he said;

“Faze is my friend and he is going to do his own bit. But, one thing that he does not know is that who feels it, knows it. He didn’t write the song, I did. So he does not know what I am talking about.It is easy for him to call for peace. But then, it is the duty of the offender to apologise for his action. He also disclosed that why artistes steal songs in Nigeria, is because the Nigeria Government is yet to institute an appropriate punishment for such individuals;

“Had the Federal Government introduced an appropriate punishment for stealing other people’s songs, many music artistes would be in trouble today. If the penalty required offenders to spend some years in jail, many so-called big artistes would be in prison by now.

Some of them steal songs from fellow musicians based in the country or abroad and pass them off as their own. This is very bad for culture and the creative sector. It is also bad enough for the honest and hardworking Nigerian artiste who goes through a lot of trouble to survive.“Whatever the government decides, the courts are there to ensure that justice prevails. Superstar footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo, who just welcomed his twins through a surrogate mother, has confirmed that he's expecting his 4th child child with his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez. 

According to El Mundo, the 32-year-old Portuguese confirmed Georgina Rodriguez’s pregnancy in their conversation with him.

This is coming after Georgina Rodriguez was spotted with a  growing baby bump while on holiday with the Cristiano Ronaldo in Ibiza.

Ace comedian, Okey Bakassi has raised an alarm at the rate Nigerian celebrities consume drugs. The veteran Nigerian actor who a guest on Emma Ugolee’s 'The Gist' alongside African China and Sound Sultan, said;

“Conservatively 70% of Nigerian Celebrities are on some sort of substance today. They have gone ballistic. You hear a lot of names- SK, Kush, Loud, etc. the names come everyday and you’re struggling to keep up with the nomenclature of it.”

However the entertainer who also revealed that he took he tried out illicit drugs when he was much younger, noted that entertainers often take drugs to boost their creativity.

“I did some of it too. Creativity is part of it. [It enhances creativity] in the short term,” he said.

A mental health expert who was also on the show;

“[Drugs and] alcohol [today] is the to-go guy and yet the most commonly abused substance.”

21-year-old Jocelyn Savage whose family claimed was held hostage by R&B singer R. Kelly has debunked her family’s sensational claim, insisting she’s safe and well.

This is following the press conference her mother, father and sister held on Monday in Atlanta, claiming their daughter and sister was one of many young women who the 50-year-old singer, had targeted in recent years and that they hadn’t spoken to her for months.

However Jocelyn, who threw out their claim that she was ‘in a happy place’ with had been R. Kelly who has been plagued by accusations of child sex abuse in the past.

‘I’m 21, I’m about to be 22 in a few days and I just mainly want to say that I am in a happy place with my life and I’m not being brainwashed or anything like that.
‘It just came to a point where it definitely has got out of hand. I’m totally fine. I’m happy where I’m at and everything is OK with me.’
Asked if she was being held involuntarily, she said:

‘Oh no, nothing like that. I’ve never felt like a hostage or anything like that.’
Addressing her parents’ concern, she said:

‘I don’t really know what’s going on with that,’ she said of their fears on Monday. ‘I’m very heartbroken over what’s going on with this situation because it’s getting to a point where it’s getting too much.
‘It’s just not right.’
TMZ reports that though she insisted she was ‘fine’, she refused to answer when asked if she was free to come and go from the house. She also refused to answer when asked if she was still in Atlanta, Georgia.

A Nigerian Pastor, Bishop Dr. Sam Zuga, has taken to Facebook to advertise his anointed water, which he says killed an evil owl recently which has been tormenting a young man every night, for the past two weeks.

A Nigerian girl, Ada, who who featured in Nigerian porn king Kingtblakhoc sex video and who he calls 'HOC Smallie' has repented and has taken to Snapchat to reveal what she's been going through lately.

Ada who sobered up after some of her friends reached out to her wrote;

Temi Otedola's boyfriend and 'Skin Tight' crooner, Mr. Eazi has cleared up the controversy his attachment to Wizkid's StarBoy Records brought with it.

Mr. Eazi who debunked rumours of his signing in an interview with Star FM Ghana yesterday, said his deal with the record label is as an associate or ‘business partner’.

This is coming after Wizkid announced at the 2016 Ghana Music Awards that he signed Eazi, Efya and singing duo R2bees to his Starboy Worldwide Record Label.
