first and foremost dis awoof/ofè no dey purge cos it is legit and u do direct buiness with the family not third party secondly i cud easily ave said 150k and take pple to interior areas were no good acess roads to their farm, deal with very thick vegetation the likes of a forest, were at the end of d day u spend tripple more dan wat u bargined for.
So Mr. Invincible name one place in the whole. From owode down to idi-iroko that sales at far lower my price dat dont ave dis problem and i wud b glad to visit there and put it on my sales

I agree with all u said. I used d rainy season to raise ugu for client solely for d seeds in prep for dry season farming and wud b starting d dry season farming soon. Will b following u closely

I am replying the thread this morning because I took the morning hours off but will resume on the farm when the sun is down. So Lets get started

Seed Spacing:

This is a big factor when it comes to yield. The textbook and ideal recommendation is 1m * 0.5m Spacing. Ideally, this spacing is recommended so as to help plant root get the required nutrients without much fight.

Demerit of this spacing method:
- Much land is required
- Weed control is more pronounced compared to small spacing
- More laborous

Merit
- Better yield when compared to tight spacing

So Let me talk about the other spacing which is usually adopted by most farmers I have come across. Let's call this "Management Spacing".

The Management spacing is roughly 1.5ft by 1ft. I am adopting this for my planting. As you already know, we have demerit and merit for this.

Merit
- Easy and better management of Land
- Easy control of weed compared to the "ideal" spacing
- Less labour

Demerit
- High competition for soil nutrients between plant roots

This demerit can be effectively managed by making sure there's no lack of nutrients in the soil by the effective application of organic or inorganic fertilizer.

I prefer organic because of longer shelf live for ugu leaves. More on this later.

Food for thought:

4000 seeds is needed to fully cover an acre of Land using the ideal spacing method

But it is good to note that 4000 seeds can be effectively managed in just two plots by employing the management spacing technique. And the same yield will be achieved if you reduce the competition for soil nutrients by plant roots.

no other charges. Just 10k and dats all u must start land prep immidiately

renting of an acre over here is hard what u get here is hectares and a hectare goes for 10k/year

U must note dis, in farming there is no room for absentee farmer.

Know d type of crop u want to plant, do a thorough research on market value, target market, add value etc (in dis case real time update/survey of the crop). Meaning ''U" personally ave to b involved

Safe ur money till nxt year rainy season, then go into cassava farming. Or beta yet garri processing

Herds men and farmers- a major pain in d behind for farmers. If u complain of destruction, they offer meager amount as compensation. If u retaliate by siezing their cow they retaliate by killing farmers. So what is solution?

fencing ur 50 ha farm with nearly 20million only for u to wake up one day n c d handwork of cows on ur farm(u go find cry tire) for d strong heart.(heart attack/high B.P) for d weak heart

hiring nite watch with local hunters gun vs fulani herds men with AK47- well, may d best man win


coming together as a group of farmers in the community + community leaders n holding talks with the herds men on peaceful coexistence as well as tactically threatening them there by passing ur msg across- now thats an idea

Internet farming- its good doing research using internet. But d moment u start real practical farming u find out find out dat dere is more to farming dan meets d eyes

4. U cant b a farm manager and not b ready to sweat it out. Note dat ur workers follow by example and will only b motivated wen dey c u working

5. Farming is fun wen d right steps are taking at the right time

1. B ready to shout, get angry and even provoked but most especially, be flexible in ur dealings with workers

2. Neva take any infection/infestation for granted as dey my destroy ur farm

I ve bin receiving calls on dis topic and want to make certain points clear
1. Dis farming is for btw novemba to march
2. U must ave a source of water supply
3. I restricted it to this 4 crops as they are very easy to manage without stress
4. Once u knw what to do there is nothing special abt their cultivation.

5. Once matured, these crops are guarranteed to give u continous income till dey fade

6. Dont even think of starting if u dont have a standby labour. Yes i said it. If u go against this singla most important rule, then prepare to weep

Intended crops for d dry season farming includes 1. Ewedu 2. Tete 3. Ugwu 4. Shoko

Also note dat though i dont charge for dis particular service, my transport to and fro the farm will b footed by the farmer. Little cash gratltude can also b included though nt compulsory.
