IPOB (aka UGM and aka ESN) are now killing Igbos, but will always say it is the military.
Perhaps sometimes it is the military.
However, to stop all the killings completely, Ndi Igbo must remove IPOB from our land. It is IPOB that is ALWAYS the reason that military are killing Igbos. Just check it. Whether at Emene or wherever.
Question we must ask, then MUST get answer is this one: IPOB, where is the EVIDENCE of all your "Biafra restoration" work? Give us the NAMES of people you have seen in EU, USA and UN. WE MUST see it!
Ndi Igbo, unless we want more dying for nothing, then IPOB must go! IPOB is a company Ltd, registered in UK, not even in Nigeria. So let them take their killing business to UK, their country of origin.[/s] |

Politics › Buhari’s Attorney General Malami Advocates For Freedom Of Movement For Animals by Emergingnation(op): 2:52pm On Oct 07, 2021 |
Buhari’s Attorney General Malami Advocates For Freedom Of Movement For Animals The position of the Office of the Attorney General is about freedom and liberty of movement among others. The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami has advocated for the movement of herders and animals, particularly cattle known for wreaking havoc on farmlands. Malami on Wednesday said his controversial position on open grazing was not outside the scope of the nation’s constitution. Malami stated this while answering questions from State House correspondents at Presidential Villa, Abuja. He said: “Well, on the issue of farmers/ herders clashes, no position was taken by the Office of the Attorney General outside the scope of constitutional provisions. "The position of the Office of the Attorney General is about freedom and liberty of movement among others. “And what the Office of the Attorney General has simply succeeded in doing is making a reference to relevant constitutional provisions and established a position that each and every Nigerian is entitled to freedom of movement simpliciter. “So, the issue is whether that freedom of movement is constitutionally guaranteed, or is not. And my answer to it is, the freedom of movement is indeed, constitutionally guaranteed.” While many other countries have been busy finding innovative ways to make lives easier for their citizens and prioritising technological advancement, Nigeria has been struggling with how best to graze its cattle. Many farmers have been recording low yields because of the activities of herders, who go about with their cattle and damage farm crops in the process finding food and water for them. This has contributed to hikes in prices of food items and rising inflation. The crisis has also led to the state of insecurity across the country as herders have taken to arms to forcibly graze their cattle and take over people's farms. In many cases, they kill or kidnap their victims for ransom. Meanwhile, the body language of the Muhammadu Buhari-led government has always supported herders against farmers. And even recently after 17 Southern governors resolved to pass anti-open grazing laws in their respective states to curb the crisis and criminal activities associated with herders, the Buhari regime was quick to lambast them for the move. In a recent interview on Channels TV, Malami even compared open grazing to the sale of spare parts by Igbo people in the North, forgetting that the activities of spare parts dealers have not been known to wreak havoc on host communities. Malami had said, “It is about constitutionality within the context of the freedoms expressed in our constitution. Can you deny the rights of a Nigerian? “For example, it is as good as saying, perhaps, maybe, the northern governors coming together to say they prohibit spare parts trading in the north. “Does it hold water? Does it hold water for a northern governor to come and state expressly that he now prohibits spare parts trading in the north?” Malami urged the governors to first amend the Constitution to prohibit open grazing before going ahead with their decision. “If you are talking of constitutionally guaranteed rights, the better approach to it is to, perhaps, go back to ensure the Constitution is amended,” he said. “Freedom and liberty of movement among others is established by the Constitution. If by an inch you want to have any compromise over it, the better approach is to go back to the National Assembly to say open grazing should be prohibited and see whether you can have the desired support for the constitutional amendment. “It is a dangerous provision for any governor in Nigeria to think he can bring any compromise on the freedom and liberty of individuals to move around." Chairman of the Southern Governors Forum, Rotimi Akeredolu, had explained that the decision is not new and most of the governors had placed a ban on open grazing in their states before the meeting where the resolution was made. “We felt that … this open grazing must stop. It is causing a lot of problems particularly between the herders and the farmers. Whether we like it or not, times have changed and this must change. We must adopt a modern system of animal husbandry. “In this day and age, they cannot continue taking cows by foot from Kano to Port Harcourt,” he had said. The governor said the Federal government needs to throw its weight behind state governments that want to set up ranches, noting that this will benefit the herders who are exposed to dangers as they roam with their cattle. http://saharareporters.com/2021/10/07/buhari%E2%80%99s-attorney-general-malami-advocates-freedom-movement-animals

Politics › Tolu Ogunlesi Suffers To Defend Buhari’s Twitter Ban on CNN by Emergingnation(op): 8:00am On Oct 07, 2021 |
Ahm well, so I, I, I, you know, I am not, you know, I am”: Tolu Ogunlesi suffers to defend Buhari’s Twitter ban
Mr Ogunlesi appeared on a CNN segment with Larry Madowo on Wednesday, where he was asked whether he was in support of the ban or not.
Tolu Ogunlesi, a new media aide to PresidentMuhammadu Buhari, tried unsuccessfully to defend the regime’s illegal and indefinite suspension of Twitter in Nigeria.
Mr Ogunlesi appeared on a CNN segment with Larry Madowo on Wednesday, where he was asked whether he was in support of the ban or not.
“Ahm well, so I, I, I, you know, I’m not, you know, the government of Nigeria has made a decision.
You know aah.. and for me, no it’s so, I’m not sure that’s the question you should be asking me,” Mr Ogunlesi said as the host pushed him to give a yes or no response.
“I think it’s a win-win actually for both twitter and the government of Nigeria.
That’s certainly the view I get out of the um negotiations. It’s a win-win for both parties and ehm, I’m happy about that?”
Mr Madowo quickly pushed back that the unconstitutional and repressive measure could not have been a win-win as Mr Ogunlesi suggested because Nigerians have already deployed VPNs to bypass the restriction and continue to use Twitter to carry out their businesses and comment on state policies.
Following the ban in Nigeria on June 4, Mr Ogunlesi and fellow supporters of the Buhari-led regime, including Bashir Ahmad, Ajuri Ngelale, Philip Obin, Abubakar Sidiq Usman, stopped using Twitter to engage online.
They moved to Koo, an Indian social networking platform used by less than 200,000 of Nigeria’s over 200 million population.
Information minister Lai Mohammed, while announcing the suspension in a press statement on June 4, said Twitter activities were capable of undermining Nigeria’s national security and corporate existence.
The ban was ordered days after Twitter removed Mr Buhari’s tweet for threatening genocide against Nigerians of Igbo ethnic group who have long oppossed his sectional and exclusive government.
Attorney-General Abubakar Malami also said the ban was ordered because using Twitter in Nigeria was seditious, a claim that has been condemned by rights activists.
Since the ban in June, Nigerian government officials had been in a series of meetings with Twitter, but neither party would disclose the details of ongoing discussions.
Twitter, however, assured repeatedly to Peoples Gazette that the talks have been cordial and fruitful.
Mr Ogunlesi, an opinion writer and former critic of the political elite, quickly switched sides when he was asked to be one of the president’s dozens of new media assistants in 2016.
He has continued to defend the government’s actions, even when they conflict with his previously-held positions.
Following the murder of at least nine #EndSARS protesters in Lagos on October 20, 2020, Mr Ogunlesi disappeared from social media.
He, however, returned a few weeks later to continue his service to the Buhari regime, beginning first with a Medium article that many readers criticised as a show of support for the soldiers’ brutality. https://gazettengr.com/ahm-well-so-i-i-i-you-know-i-am-not-you-know-i-am-tolu-ogunlesi-suffers-to-defend-buharis-twitter-ban/?utm_source=ReviveOldPost&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=ReviveOldPost

Crime › Bandits On Camels & Horses Kill 18 In Zamfara, 10 Massacred In Katsina by Emergingnation(op): 7:21am On Oct 07, 2021 |
Revealed! How Horse-riding bandits killed 18 in Zamfara, 10 massacred in KatsinaNo fewer than 18 people including women and children have been killed by a group of suspected bandits in a fresh attack at Kurya Madaro town of Kaura Namoda local government area of Zamfara state.
A resident of the area, Malam Mohammed Lawali Kurya, who narrowly escaped the attack, told Blueprint in Gusau Wednesday that the hoodlums stormed the town Tuesday around 11:30pm.
He said the bandits comprising men and women, rode on camels and horses with dangerous weapons during the invasion of their town.
Kurya also said the bandits set ablaze police operational vehicle, one trailer, four other vehicles belonging to the community and many shops during the attack.
“Immediately they started the attack, even our district head informed the military and other security personnel but we didn’t see them until the following early morning of today (Wednesday),” he added
“I suspect that these people were not Nigerians but from Niger Republic because their mode of dressing and language intonation indicated that they are not Nigerians,” he further said.
While calling for the deployment of more troops, he said all those killed in the mayhem had been buried according to Islamic rites.
“We have buried 18 of our people who were gruesomely killed by the bandits last night, in line with Islamic tenets today,” the source added.
However, all efforts to reach the image maker of the state Police Command, SP Muhammd Shehu on the development proved abortive.
Similar move to also reach the Commissioner of Police Ayuba N. Elkana by our reporter also failed as he was said to be holding a crucial security meeting as at the time of this report.
Katsina
And in yet another attack, bandits Tuesday morning killed 10 people and injured several others, burning shops and houses in Yasore community of Katsina state.
Yasore is less than two kilometres from Batsari, the headquarter of the local government area by the same name.
Batsari is among the LGAs witnessing incessant bandits’ attacks in Katsina.
It shares boundaries with Rugu forest, Jibia local government area in Katsina and Zurmi in Zamfara state.
The state government has cut mobile telecommunications network in Batsari and 13 other local government areas in the state as part of efforts to tackle insecurity.
A resident of the area, Harisu Hamza, told Premium Times newspaper that the attackers came on motorcycles and started shooting sporadically.
“They came around Magrib prayers. Some people had concluded prayers by then. They rode on more than 20 motorcycles. It was during the sporadically shooting that they killed 10 people and wounded others,” he said.
He added that they left some minutes after 10 a.m. when a combined team of the police, vigilantes and soldiers arrived at the community.
Hamza, who has been living in Katsina metropolis, said the bandits “carted away food commodities and other things they needed during the attack.”
It was further gathered that some of the wounded have been admitted at the General Hospital in Katsina.
The police spokesperson in the state, Gambo Isa, said he was in a meeting when Premium Times reporter called him.
He, however, did not respond to SMS sent to him.
Varsity student abducted
In a related development, a 23-year-old student of Bayero University Kano, Sakina Bello, has been kidnapped. For some time now, Kano, a North-west state has remained unaffected by rising security challenges bedevilling the region.
The student, it was gathered, was kidnapped Tuesday along Janbulo and Rijiyar Zaki in the Kano metropolis.
The 300-level Botany student was reportedly abducted in a tricycle commonly called Adai Daita Sahu by her captors. “She left home around 3pm on Tuesday and could not come back until this moment. She was supposed to go to Janbulo from our house in Rjiyar Zaki. “They called her elder brother around 9pm and informed him that she is their den and that they will call back on Wednesday. And the next thing they did was to demand for N100 million ransom,” said a family source. The state Police command confirmed the development and said efforts were on to trace her whereabouts.
“We received a report of a missing person from Rjiyar Zaki and we immediately swung into action to trace her whereabouts. The command is putting more effort to ensure she is traced and reunited with her family,” he said. https://www.blueprint.ng/revealed-how-horse-riding-bandits-killed-18-in-zamfara-10-massacred-in-katsina/
