Is POS really soft work? I don't think sitting in a kiosk for hrs waiting for a customer to buy cash is softer than any other trading of goods that directly relates with consumers
Whichever may be the reason, we're still seeing more POS open up even with the fall in profit margin which means the demand is still there. If the demand has fallen, you'll begin to see a decline in POS shops. And I'm not talking of those using to receive payments for their goods
I'm talking of those using it as a business. That's a distortion in itself and it's still viable till now. POS is still a full time job for a lot of people I know. In my area, none of the POS have closed in the past 3 years. Instead more have joined
BDCs can't just close simply because people begin to prefer to transfer from their phones. If that were the case they shouldn't have remained all these years even through the period when IMTO was as easy as ABC
I just explained the reason behind the influx into POS business to you. Abeg I don tire to dey follow you argue. Have a nice day.

Demand is not the same as profit
Are you saying there are less pos centres now than they were in 2019?
Profit is about margin between cost and selling prices. It can be higher based on the interplay between demand and supply
Supply usually responds to demand. If demand falls, supply will begin to fall as well, if demand rises supply rises as well. I hope you can understand this enough to relate it appropriately with POS and BDCs
There is more POS centres today because the criteria required to get a terminal has been simplified unlike before, secondly, a lot of people moving into it see it as the simplest and easiest way to make some side money without necessarily sweating (Soft work), lastly, POS is now more of a mode of receiving payments hence why it is everywhere coz almost every small business have it coz of customers who will prefer to make transfer for goods purchased.

Do you even know POS used to be a full time job in the past? Just like BDC is full time job right now?

In the case of BDC, demand will fall beyond imagination if everybody should adopt transferring dollar from their phone.

So why is there still high demand for POS
What makes you think POS is still viable even with segregated demand but BDCs will not? Demand for currency is elastic just like its supply
2k 3k profit na hin be high demand?

As of 2018, 2019, POS attendants were making profit of 20k to 50k daily. Now they barely could make steady 5k profit and you are talking about demand? That is what BDC are afraid may happen to them.

Like I said, you have little to no knowledge of this.

You already answered the question
Why do we have POS selling cash when we should have ATMs
Demand has fallen due to the exacerbated rates. With time, demand will begin to mount. Emefiele's CBN restricted access to forex in order to restrict demand. It's obvious the alternative is to drive up rates with its attendant effect on inflation and exchange rate parity
You don't do POS business, just like I belive you're not a BDC agent.

Take for instance in POS business, the demand for bulk cash as of 2018, 2019 and 2020 were very high but after those years many people who go to POS to ask for bulk cash have adopted the transfer options. Even the labourers now have bank account and no need for bulk cash to pay them, don't bother arguing with me coz it is my field.
Same thing will happen to BDC should many of their customers adopt transferring from their phones instead of lookin for dollar upandan to use when they can swiftly send dollar from their phone

For one have you ever heard of politicians sourcing for forex?
What about those who want to change hard currency to naira and vice versa?
Except it's for money laundering, else I just told you they can make transfers. Infact, even the Naira debit cards can now handle international transactions.

Is just like going to POS people now to source Cash of 10 million, what exactly do you need cash of 10 million for when you can easily transfer it from your bank to the next person's bank?

Well I am not surprise you mentioned Yahoo boys and politicians

Yes until the demand rises sharply again
It is the demand that drives BDC up
That's what CBN countered with direct supply
If their demand goes up again, there will be a divergence
Or you think demand will remain this way?
Can you give some reasons why demand will suddenly go higher?

What were they using before?
BDCs have existed since the 70s
You still don't get it?

Bye bye to the middlemen (BDCs) coz customers now prefer to do their thing by themselves from the tap of their phones.

As if that's not enough, CBN has now cut them off from get dollar cash, meaning CBN is indirectly pushing customers to opt for the direct dollar transfer on their phone instead of looking for cash upandan.

What this means is that the cost if running BDCs will be too much and the profit will be extremely small since patronage will be low, and sourcing for dollar outside CBN will be higher

Cutting grass in winter with all your UK 15000 pounds degree at 38 year is degrading and humiliating couple with daily treats of Reform UK kicking the grass Cutter out of UK
So I rather be chopping Najia govt 200k with zero stress and use the 15000 pounds or 30m to do Business
Example if I order Dangote fertilizer 720 bags at 38k each
Will sell for 41k
720*3000=2.1m
This 720 bags sell out in a Month and repeat the cycle .
So you can see the UK grass Cutter is no better
Than the Civil servant with 30m capital and business knowledge in Nigeria
The Nigeria Civil servant with this Capital will come to UK with a 1000 pounds to 5 days holiday he will see his fellow Nigerian Mopping the Hotel Floor after spending 30m +UK MSC to Japa
Do you sell Fertiliser or this is just your imagination?

Look, business comes with several challenges than this your imagination o
