Fighting fire is just 1/10 or so of what they do.
Soon their name will be changed from Federal Fire service to Federal Fire and Rescue service.

Some other things they do outside fire fighting are:

1)Quarterly Inspection of all industries, gas and fuel stations, public buildings like hotels and fed government houses/agencies


2) Issuing Fire safety compliance certificates to new gas and fuel stations, organisations and companies, banks ,etc(every new gas or fuel station must get Certificate of fire compliance from fed fire before they can get licence for operation from FG)

3) Training and retraining of safety personnels from different organizations on fire safety and rescue operations

4)Rescue and Disaster management generally like flood,etc

5)work hand in hand with insurance companies on fire insurance

6) Protection of all federal government infrastructures and assets against fire that is why they have Offices in most big FG agencies or buildings like Stadium, CBN, national assembly, etc

These are many other things they do...

As for the recruitment........ I still believe it will happen soon(this year), the change of CG delayed it..their training schools are almost ready for training of new recruits....so all eyes are on the CG and the board to give go ahead order for the recruitment/replacement.

because fire incidents hardly occur and when it occurs most times, this FFS is not always available.
Some ppl said they used to sell water for household use. How true is this?

Please fam, between a Paramilitary job that pay 125k without any allowance for a start and an FMCG company with 165k + other bonuses and allowance for a start which is better for someone who is planing to leave the country soon(1-2years time)?

Don't put your mind but something would happen there early Next year, we expected it this December but it was shifted

Mind u ,he only applied during the application and have forgotten about the recruitment only to get this this afternoon

This stuff has not been implemented in upto 70% of the FG agencies let alone state Offices
If you doubt ask those that just got immigration, custom,fire service, prison, etc

Even when top officials of COREN are heading some of these mentioned agencies.

A good number of people that filled this last form must have be employed in other organizations, hence won't come again(I know about 1 or 2 already...)

As far as you did biometric before, you were selected in stream 1!

That you were asked doesn't mean majority were asked.

I was never asked such

And 2weeks-30days notice is like a standard every good organization gives the new employees for resumption or training because they understand that the new employees have to put many things together before resumption (some might need to resign from their current work, some might need to travel inter-country, etc)

Cos all i know is that majority of us were asked hw many days notice would we need before we resume, and I'm guessing nobody mentioned 30days...

I am also told that this exams has nothing to do with our interview that, state quota were not filled that's the reason for this exams, candidate have already been shortlisted from the previous interview, the reason for this is to fille the remaining gaps in state quotas.


I said that my friend was interviewed before and still shortlisted for this current exams he said, it's either the message was sent in error to him or he was not successful at the interview but is given another chance, since he had passed the previous test

Any update from those at Plot 802 today?

1. BMI test( Body mass index) 18.5-24.5

2. Blood pressure which be not be more (139)

3. ECG (Polygraph test) to test your heart

4. RBS test ( Ransom Blood sugar)

5. Hepatitis A,B,C test

6. Diabetes & HIV

7. Eye test ( short sight,long sight, colour blindness

8. BMI will cover the height aspect

9. Pile

I was just informed about this and the list those not guarantee employment but squarely rest on this medicals. So guys prepare another exams is around the corner.
