After reading this thread, I must say I am really disappointed with the quality of graduates Nigeriaan schools churn out every year...- read the first post by the UBA guy and felt well its normal since the guy in question is an operations/back office person.(Back office staff are not regarded as core bankers in most banks infact they av a particular grade/level they cannot go beyond in most banks. Eg u cannot be d GMD of a bank except u are a market facing staff. Now, back to this FCMB thread, how cn sum1 work in the sales/marketing dept of a bank (FCMB 4 dat matter ooo) and still be complaining about salary. Its such a shame that Nigrian graduates have allowed salaries to destroy their value.we all (marketers)cannot think outside the box and create value but wait for pay day. Its a shame.as per the FCMB guy, pls u are not working 4 FCMB rather u are working 4 urself,FCMB has only provided a platform to display ur creativity. In a import dependent country like ours why can't u create a market around the chinese community for example and help them with their remitance considering that this guys source the fx thru d parrallel mkt and then make ur cut from them. Braduates shud not expect to be spoon feed. I laugh @ pples folly wen I hear them say they can neva take a marketing job in a bank. It amaze me how come graduates cannot see oportunities disguised as challenges. Bro, they are a whole lot of ways u can make money without resorting to fraud or oda unethical vice, all u need to do is think deep.

Hi all, I really intend to provide as much information on this exercise as I can but have been banned by one spambot or whatever for the responses I gave earlier. I really don't know which of the rules I broke. I was unbanned this morning and I will post responses as long as I'm convinced they aren't offensive. concerning the recruitment exercise, the positions advertised in the media are the ones with vacancies presently. However, if you go to the site you'll see many other positions there. You may apply but will be invited only when such positions become vacant. You may just limit your applications to the advertised for now. As I said earlier, existing outsourced staff are given priority when vacancies become available. Many of them are writing the test this weekend. External candidates' test will follow soon after. Wish all applicants the best.

Hi, you have been very helpfull. I wud like to know what stabc's Hr's policy is as per xperienced hire? I have abt 2 yrs 6 months sales and marketing experience in a commercial bank nd I applied 4 d position of personal banking. If employed am I coming in parallel or they'll give me a step up? So guys what's the update? Medicals, training and resumption since done abi? How's the job? What about the pending new recruits in your same position?

As in, I tire 4 guiness oooo....there has been no update since last year ooo nd to make things worse, those guys in H R won't pick there calls.

ok....all is well. just be expectant. many of the sales managers were transfered to diff locations. i knw a guy transfered to Owerri last month, he may be your batch too

NB: assessment center is diff from the fist aptitude test.

Hi gabcity, I applied for the position of Retail sales manager (RSM) and I did all four stage @ d assesment centre (test, role play, presentation nd interview) after which I was asked to go to aa rescue for my driving test. But its been over a month naw and there is no word from Guinness yet. I am just worried.

I was invited to the assesment centre for the position of RSM in sept and I did my driving test a week lata but was lata told to scan a cert of driving competence frm aa to them which I av done, but its been like 3 weeks naw and no feedback frm Guinness, I am getting a bit worried naw. Do u av a Guinness human resource's no? Tanks

I tink it depends on d role u applied 4...I applied for RSM, retail sales manager where we did all four stage same day, test, role play, presentation and interview den driving test @ a lata day. D woman who anchored d whole event shud tell u wat ur stage shud be.

Depends on d role u applied for...I applied for RSM position and I did all four stage same day. Test, role play, presentation and interview.

Hi, the job description shud be basically sales of guinness products nd relationship mgt. As per pay, I really don't know but some1 said on dis thread dt its reasonable and far above 100k. Wat stage of dd recruitment process are u naw?

Employers don't pay for the country of origin of ur certificate rather they pay for the value u can add to their org.

@ op, tell ur frnd to take the job and prove his worth in the org, then he can request for a pay rise...believe me no employer want to part with their best hand. Like my boss would say, if u are truly good, then ur first job shud be d only time u submit a CV,every oda job u get would come thru referals or competitors pouching u. So let ur frnd take the 40k salary job and prove to them dat his 4M rated UK master's is no beans.

You did your interview on Sept 16th, driving Sept 23rd and 4 weeks later still waiting for medicals?! I'm pursuing WDM and only one week gone since driving yet I'm feeling quite impatient. Na to spread mat for floor begin sleep be that. #LongThing!

Lol...if there is one lesson av learnt abt recruitment, then it is patience. Guess it's easier for me cos I av a job presently so I m really occupied while I chill 4 Guinness. So bro we are done with the most important part of d process, let's just chill for a while, they wud definately get in touch.

On a lighter note, I hope u eat enuf biscuit during ur assesment? The amala and egusi was splendid.

maxpayne90: If you don't hear from them 2 weeks after you have written a test or attended an interview, just assume they have decided not to put you through to the next stage.

Guys don't be discouraged, I tried gatecrashing uba test some 2 yrs ago only to be told the test was for corp members after I had sat down in d classroom on the second floor...the guy collected my cv and said they would get back to me and they actually did about a month later and here I am still working wwit uba...I know how it feels like but if the guys in uba hr says they are gonna get back to u, believe me they wud gt back to u...cheers

I seriouly think this is taking too long. I wrote the online test for the position of operations executive some 2 months ago and there has been no feedback from maersk since then.

Good day vo, my question is how true is the widely held notion that if one has never travelled out of nigeria before he cannot get a visa to go on vacation to the U.S.
