Where in Port Harcourt can one buy the fresh leaves of coriander, parsley, basil and some other spicy herbs? |
I need to forward a petition to the IGP over some issue. Please how do I do that? What address, including email address, do I use. And what's the IGP phone number? |
neonet:While the cost remains stable in dollars, exchange rate hikes it in naira |
florinodlan:There a number of international based interventions in stammering. I don't know of any in Nigeria, no doubt they exist and someone had given a number above. Soon the university of California will establish a stuttering treatment center at Ibadan university based on medical approach and drug treatments. The other one is the McGuire program that holds in South Africa. So check your options |
ptoall1000:Thanks. Quite high for one exam |
Please does anyone know the current exam fee for CCNP courses? |
Hi all, I am readying to go into large scale farming of avocados and walnuts. Can I read from anybody similarly engaged with any of those produce on a large scale, about requirements for harvesting all year round, seed varieties, cost, farm maintenance and so on. |
rareman:I would rather crayfish and other marine edibles are not farmed. Those fish that are farmed don't have the same nutritional content as the ones fished from their natural wild sea environment, simply because of what they it. So those of you farming any type of fish, stop immediately, you are deceiving people with fake promise of fish nutrients like Omega 3 fats, protein etc. Let nature take it's course. |
Brigadier7:Certainly. Speech is a very crucial part of human social life. So speech impediments impact negatively on quality of life. |
Brigadier7:I don't know yet when they're starting, and will find out. |
Brigadier7:They're establishing a stuttering treatment centre at the university of Ibadan in collaboration with a US varsity. They'll use drugs to treat stammering. |
Brigadier7:Well "the McGuire program" that holds in South Africa teaches stammerers to overcome blocks. It's pretty expensive. |
Brigadier7:I would think that the slow talking approach technically called "easy onset technique" made famous by Dr Martin Swartz will be more suited for stammering types that are repetitive. That indicates the person is trying to force the words out. But for silent blocks I doubt this would be effective |
Loisemm:By you saying "don't think too much about it" I suppose you mean "don't have emotional attachment on the outcome, whether you stammered or not. Good. But some situations are too critical not to have that outcome in mind. Think of job interviews. Can you tell a cripple to "get up and walk" unless you are spiritually anointed? A strategy I have chosen is to shout out words by force. But this has social consequences as people would not understand and think you're going crazy |
Brigadier7:No I don't stutter when alone. But it's not anxiety. I think they've begun to identity genes that predispose people to stutter, and even the differences between a stammerer's brain and a fluent one in the brain regions responsible for speech. Certainly not anxiety but there may be some fear of stammering which increases the likelihood one would stammer. I'm looking for any techniques someone has used to successfully control their stutter. |
Brigadier7:I am of the blocking type. That's silent blocks. |
