Victor Osimhen has revealed the reason why he chose to wear Lille's number seven jersey shortly after he signed a deal with the French Ligue 1 club.

Before the Nigerian joined Lille, the number was last used by Portugal U21 star Rafael Leão, who has been dubbed the Portuguese Mbappe, and it was also previously worn by Anwar El Ghazi and Sofiane Boufal who are currently on the books of Aston Villa and Southampton respectively.




"When they first presented the numbers that they had, I went for the seven because the player (Rafael Leão) is a very good player and he has a lot of talent," Osimhen said in an interview with the Super Eagles Media Team via YouTube.

"They asked me why I chose the number and I said I really wanted it because that's what my mind chose.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has offered Super Eagles boss, Gernot Rohr a brand new contract, but under tough conditions.

Rohr on his own part is open to listening to offers from other football associations (FA) from January 1, 2020, but the NFF wants to retain the German until after the World Cup in 2022.




According to Complete Sports, the terms and conditions gathered will require that the former Bordeaux player and chief coach “must” live in the country (Lagos or Abuja).

He will also be allowed to travel on vacation only 3 times in a year. Also, the coach will not get an improved pay from his $55,000 per month deal.
The NFF will also ensure, unlike in the past three years where he earned wages tax free, that his income will be levied.

All his selections must be approved by the NFF Technical Committee.

Donatus Edafe, the Nigerian Footballer Accused of pregnating His Slovenian Club President Daughter has claimed that the story is totally false.

Footynaija recently reported that the Nigerian who ply his trade in slovenia had his contract terminated after getting the Club's president daughter pregnant which according to him was a mutual agreement between him and the Lady. The Accused by Name Donatus Edafe has come out to say that the story making wave in the internet is never true.




According to him, he was never sacked by the club(Nove Gorica). He only left at the end of his contract to return back to Nigeria. He further claimed that the Club's President has no Daughter according to him, all is fine between him and the club owner.

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr says players in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) must show consistency in their club career before they could get an invitation to the senior national team.
Rohr insisted that he will not be forced to include NPFL players in his team just for the sake of it.
“They need to be consistent first and show me that they are good enough to compete with the players already in the team else it will be difficult as I won’t just invite a player to the team for just the cause,” Rohr revealed.

“We must try to find a perfect balance to ensure that we have the right blend and strength for every game. We invited one player recently for the game against Benin and Lesotho and hopefully, he maintains his form and also we are scouting for players who will add quality.”


Rohr has kick-started his 2021 Africa Cup Of Nations qualifiers on an impressive note winning his opening two games against Benin and Lesotho.

His team will await their opponent for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers on January 7, 2020, when the draw will take place in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.

Nigerian striker Obafemi Martins has denied turning down an offer from a club in Saudi Arabia.

There was a report in November that the former Newcastle United player rejected an offer from a Saudi Arabi club because there is no night club in the city.


“How on earth will I even reject an offer because of the absence of night clubs in a place? Fortunately, there is no even a deal for me in Saudi Arabia that I will reject,” Martins explained.
