Sports / Kanu Reacts To Tammy Abraham And Fikayo England Call-Up by emjayyoungwiz12: 3:06am On Oct 04, 2019
Former Super eagles and Arsenal Forward Nwankwo Kanu had express his Opinion over the Saga surrounding the England National Call up handed to Chelsea's Abraham And Tomori.

Yesterday, England National Football Team, the three lions released their squad for the upcoming European championship qualifiers game against Czech Republic and Bulgaria. which included the Names of the two much anticipated Super eagles possible invitees, Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori.

Super Eagles Legend Kanu expressed his candid Opinion in interview saying that "Our problem is
whenever someone start doing well, we start chasing them which is not bad because other countries do that. I feel we don't need to force people to play for the country because Nigeria is Bigger than any player." The Former Arsenal striker who featured for the gunners fromm 1999-2004 scoring 37 goals in 119 Appearances further stated that ;" We have quality players everywhere, so we can't continue to beg one player to play for us.Nigeria cannot Beg, players have to beg Nigeria".

The call-up simply means that both Fikayo and Abraham would become Ineligible to play for Nigeria if they are to feature for the three Lions.

Early Last week FootyNaija.com.ng Reported That Former Arsenal Player Chuba Akpom has dumped England for Nigeria. According to the Forward, he wants to play where he is loved and sees Nigeria as a better Option. Akpom would hope he is called in Ernest to join the Super eagles team who are preparing For a friendly against a starstudded Brazilian side later this month.

Sports / INDEPENDENCE DAY: Nigeria Football Over The Years/ by emjayyoungwiz12: 8:28am On Oct 01, 2019
59 YEARS OF COLONIAL FREEDOM, 59 YEARS OF FOOTBALL BONDAGE.

The Nigeria Football league is the highest Tier of Nigeria Domestic football which officially started in the year 1972. The domestic league has since evolved ever since its inception but no noticeable upgrade in its mode of operation. The NPFL
is a subject of Ridicule compared to other African football leagues like the Absa premiership, Egyptian premier league and others.
The Governing body of the NPFL has over the years failed to proffer solutions to sensitive issues which has been a determining factor in the downfall of the league. Some of these factors includes

1. POOR PITCHES
The football pitches used in most NPFL matches can be compared to that of a farmland. In most cases, a farmland is even better.

2. INSECURITY:
Most at times you wonder if this is a professional league or a royal rumble match. The lives of the players and match officials are always at risk. Often times, players are at their mercy and you see them running for their lives. Insecurity is a major challenge in the NPFL which seems to be on the rise.

3.POOR OFFICIATING:

Talking about violence and Insecurity in the NPFL, well Poor officiating is the cause of most royal rumble matches (I guess you know what that means) .The refereeing is very poor and most referees have ..

Sports / Troost Ekong Faces Super Eagles Ban by emjayyoungwiz12: 5:25am On Sep 27, 2019
Udinese star William Troost-Ekong faces a ban from playing for the Super Eagles after falling out with top Nigeria Football Federation officials.

In a series of tweets by BBC journalist Osasu Obayiuwana, he revealed that Troost-Ekong's future with the Super Eagles is hanging in the balance and it has to do with his character which is upsetting the very top of the Nigerian Federation, who see him as a disruptive influence and has become increasing arrogant and disrespectful.

The Super Eagles were involved in a bonus row with the Nigerian Federation during the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations and the Udinese defender was one of the chief protagonists as the players strongly pressed for their demands.

"A lot of the problems that we had with the players, during the AFCON 2019, were not helped by his behaviour,'' the top NFF official said.

''He played a huge role in stirring up the players and upsetting the atmosphere in camp. If not careful, he could face a ban from the Super Eagles.''

Another top official added : ''He shows little respect to officials and exhibits no decorum at functions, where he is known to be...

Sports / Chuba Akpom Dumps England For Nigeria by emjayyoungwiz12: 7:59am On Sep 26, 2019

The 23-year-old striker who plays in Greece for PAOK is eligible to for the Super Eagles as he holds dual-nationality and has not represented England at senior level.

In March 2017, ex-Arsenal youth player Akpom trained with the Nigeria senior side at Barnet alongside then Chelsea defender Ola Aina and now hopes to line up with his life-long friend Alex Iwobi for the West African country.

"I've only just recently switched my allegiance, so I've signed the documents and hopefully in the next few weeks it will be approved to enable me play for Nigeria," Akpom told BBC Sport.

"I've been wanting to do that for many years now but not many people know this. It's just been a matter of sorting it out, which is now in a process. I'm looking forward to it.

"It was a personal decision. I'm Nigerian and my whole family feel very Nigerian and it will be nice to represent Nigeria.

"It will also be nice to link up with Alex [Iwobi] again and play for the national team. We started playing when we was younger together and to make that step to play for the national team together will be amazing."

Read: How Nigeria Battles England for Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori.

London-born Akpom scored 18 goals in 41 youth caps for England from under-16 to under-21 level.

He joined Arsenal at the age of six and spent time on loan with Brentford, Coventry, Nottingham Forest, Hull and Brighton, but failed to break into the Gunners' first team.

A final loan spell at Belgian side Sint-Truiden resulted in six goals in 16 games and after six different clubs over five seasons.

The academy graduate managed just 12 appearances for his boyhood club before heading out to Greece on a permanent deal in August 2018.

He provided six goals and four assists as PAOK went unbeaten to seal the 2018/19 Greek title as well as the only goal in the FA Cup win against AEK Athens to complete a dream double

Barcelona Back To winning Ways as messi Gets Injured

Messi, making his first start this season, received lengthy treatment before being replaced at half-time by Ousmane Dembélé in what the coach, Ernesto Valverde, insisted was a precautionary measure.
Valverde said of Messi, who was named Fifa’s male player of the year on Monday: “He noticed a little bit of an issue with his adductor and we preferred for him not to stay on the pitch, but it was just a precaution. I don’t think it’s any more than just a niggle but we’ll need to wait for tomorrow to confirm.”

Antoine Griezmann and Arthur got the first-half goals at the Camp Nou as Barcelona moved to within a point of the top trio Granada, Athletic Bilbao and Real Madrid. The former Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla pulled a goal back for Villarreal just before half-time. Barcelona claimed the lead after 10 minutes as Griezmann applied a deft flick to Messi’s near-post corner to guide the ball over the Villarreal goalkeeper, Sergio Asenjo, and into the net.
The home side doubled their lead five minutes later as the midfielder...

Back in August 2018, Business Insider UK compiled data from Forbes and Goal.com to reveal the net worth of the top 10 richest football players in the world.

It was Cristiano Ronaldo who came out on top with a net worth of £250 million, followed closely by Lionel Messi in second with £230 million.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic then came in at third with £110 million, while Wayne Rooney (£93 million) and Eden Hazard (£77 million) placed fourth and fifth respectively. The remainder of the top 10 reads as follows, from sixth to tenth:

Gareth Bale (£56 million), Neymar (£49 million), Yaya Toure (£43 million), Sergio Aguero (£40 million), John Terry (£39 million).

It's no surprise that Ronaldo and Messi top the charts given they both earn in excess of £350,000-per-week, though Messi recently signed a new contract worth £500,000-per-week.

However, it turns out Ronaldo isn't technically the world's richest football player, because somewhere in the Premier League, there's a 19-year-old worth...

Osimhen was bought by the French side as replacement for the Gunners' £72m acquisition and is already repaying the decision to snap him up from Belgian Pro League outfit Sporting Charleroi.

Osimhen was speaking at the press conference on Saturday evening where he expressed gratitude for the trust in him.

"Nicolas Pepe and Victor Osimhen are quite different players, so it's OK if ever some people try to compare me and him.

"I feel good to be compared to such a great player.

Lille are placed seventh in the table with nine points but could rise to second place with an emphatic win away at fourth placed Rennes.

Interestingly Pepe, who is yet to score a goal for Arsenal after five league and one Europa League games, albeit is expected to start in Sunday's match against Aston Villa.

Osimhen is under contract until the summer of 2024 at the French club

Tammy Abraham has been valued at 60 million pounds (€67.9 million) by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp ahead of his side's trip to Stamford Bridge, where they face Chelsea on matchday six in the Premier League on Sunday.

According to the latest market values published by Transfermarkt.com, the Chelsea number nine will become the eleventh most expensive striker in the world based on Klopp's valuation.

Speaking to reporters, Klopp said : ''People talked about how young they were but they only played because they were that good, not because they were that young.

"They brought in Christian Pulisic in the summer for 50-or-60million and all the players around him have the same value.

"Tammy Abraham is now a 60million player, Mason Mount for sure 60million - if not more, Hudson-Odoi was that already."

Abraham, Fikayo Tomori and Mason Mount have all impressed after they were brought into the first team fold by manager Frank Lampard following the transfer ban slammed on The Blues for breaching rules about signing minors.
