Hi, Hows the biz going |
hi op, pls note that some ppl out here are also looking for business, so dont fall prey to all this good will u think u seeing, if he is a professional then let him do his job, although as mentioned by the honest few, try and renegotiate the labour cost to 45%, its always expected... try and keep some extra change cause thing might come up, if u have trusted family members , well if the understand what is to be done yes, but if they don't jus live them, cause if he's gonna steal from you, he will do so in a very professional manner with stealth, so you can hire another engineer as your spy without letting the other know his designation, that way u learn what to lookout for...cheers... |

Hello builders Am a Fresh graduate of civil engineering serving in Taraba state, sarduana local goverment, gembu. Am from Lagos and so wasn't excepting what I got on reaching here. Here's the gist... They buildings here are built with.... My problem is not the technology but the techniques, and I itemize them below.... 1. There is no code to guard against substandard manufacturing (yeah I that's asking a lot) 2. They don't properly compact the bricks 3. They don't check for proper size distribution of soil, cos they jus mix what see the way they see it with out taking out the impurities. results from this action is a lot of walls are shearing all over the town and its really scary, plastering is another story entirely.... There are the few rich ones who can afford to build with cement jus for mortar but it still doesn't change the bad bricks/block used which can shear and kill residents. So pls am appealing to you fellow builders to help me with information that help me develop their technology a lil further with out making huge holes in their pocket by providing me with materials and experience of how to make better bricks through local production and local skills there's no PHCN here, so pls no high and lofty techniques DAT needs high energy consumption. The community has a power house that runs electricity for 2hr in the evening, average daily temperature is 25°c, so u don't need a fan or fridge. The weather and environment is nice but they just need a lil help so pls help me with the body of knowledge that u ve. Use to have an engineer that deals with this technology but I lost his contacts when my phone got stolen, his Name was Roland, we meet in kafancha, Kaduna when he was handling a similar project Pls send or contributions |
