Funke is 9-Months pregnant and her husband Bode cannot wait to be a father, if you do not know Bode before now, you will think his love for his life started when she got pregnant. Far from it, Bode has been like this since the day she said YES to his proposal. She can remember how he prepared breakfast a day after their wedding, she loved it but she thought it will not last. Ever since that day, He has always woken up before her to prepare breakfast. No matter how busy he was a day before, or how busy the day will be, he always finds time to prepare breakfast before leaving for office. The aroma of the soup awakens a heavily pregnant Funke from the bed, she walks to the kitchen to find her man returning the pot of egusi to its place. "I am just making sure the taste is perfect for my baby", he said as he moves towards his wife who only smiles at him. Before the smile goes off her face, her lips were met with a warm kiss ! "Good morning darling" he said to her ,as he rubs her stomach gently. "Good morning champion," he says to the pointed stomach, without getting a response, he smiles and said to the stomach again, "Do not disturb my darling ok, I love you,but I loved her first so I do not want disturbance, Ok?". He rose up, kissed his wife again and then picked his suit which has been hanging at a corner in the parlor. I am late already, I will call you when I get to the office ok? Your food is in the dining, please eat on time today o!, he said as he makes for the door. "Oh, I forgot to tell you that I love you so so much," he said as he rushes out of the house. Funke watched through the kitchen window as he raced to his car, "I know you are watching me!" Bode scream as he opens the door, "I will miss you too!" he concluded,before jumping into the car. "I cannot wait for you to return!" Funke raised her voice in response, she smiled and waved him bye as the car drove off the gate. She is indeed blessed with a loving husband, she remembered how they met. Bode was a quiet person, yet, a lot of girls flock around him, she liked him too but she never let it show. Despite all the girls, he chose her and she has been his only one, till date. She cannot wait to have his first child. She sighed, she found herself still waving the car which by now might have gotten to its destination, she was lost in her thoughts! Do not blame her, blame it on the love. I'll update you guys soon... Cc: Divepen1 Cc: Obinnau |
dbos11:Does this shit still exist? |
Every day, except on Sundays, the energetic Mrs.
Chinelo Ogbonna comes to work at Mechanic
Village, dons her work wear and sets out many
types and sizes of vehicle tyres one atop the
other in front of her husband’s vulcanizing
workshop. She rushes at stopping vehicles, wheel
spanner in one hand, ever ready to begin the
loosening of a deflated tyre for repair. Her
husband, a wiry fair youth, does not stand
akimbo watching in front of his number 40, New
Parts Section shop. He does not assume the
pride of a man whose wife is at work with him.
No, Mr. Ifeanyi Ogbonna is busy already working
on a flat tyre, determined to patch it by fire, not
with a cold sealant. He makes as if it is a
common virtue in women, to behave like his wife.
Don’t be fooled. He knows he has a unique wife,
and he asks me to soften my wonder at this rare
form of feminism, and to make-belief she were an
ordinary apprentice, else it will get into her gait
and slow the turn of work! But not me. I step out
of my SUV, looking to quietly observe the whole
drama, scratching my eyebrows in measured
curiosity. I buy a fairly-used tyre and sit like other
clients to await my turn for service, if only to
catch this out-of-the-box situation. A big tyre
rolls at her command of hand. She stops it beside
the press. And I think the man of the shop will
take over to excavate the wheel from the tyre. My
eyes almost bulge to see her sit the large ring on
the tyre flange and jump upon the big handle of
the press to free the wheel. I want to remonstrate
by reflex. But something stops me. It is her
deftness, like one just tearing apart a paper. She
does not care that men are watching. The
reflexive but pretentious effeminacy that shows up
in some ladies whenever they are in the presence
of men, knows no place in her life. It is not that
she is not well-endowed as to mesmerize the
world if she wants. But she has packaged all the
voluptuousness of her body into that work wear.
The matter at hand is money. The money to feed
her family of a hardworking husband and four
children must be fought for. Yes, she has four
children and she is still in the side of youth. But
here she is, vulcanizing, for the good of the
society. Her way of life is a decision she made
herself. She is not forced by her husband. There
are moments of disagreements between the two.
But the quickness with which they settle their
differences is beyond public comprehension. I go
on in my mind about the standing values we
peddle around and which of them affects us
negatively or positively, until she calls my
attention to tell me she is through… I reveal to
them that they are news. I educate them how this
is so. They consent to a public view such as this
you see. It may bring more clients, who knows.

As a minimum requirement in nigerian institutions to obtain a Bs.c in most discipline, qualified students are expected to go for a six months student industrial work experience scheme(SIWEs) in a firm of their area of specialization to get the experience and also constitute their course for the semester. Where can you guys recommend a computer science student to do the training in abuja? I need a firm that base on either of the following programming,networking,camera installation, etc and a little pay if possible. #This thread is open to all prospective IT students especially computer science students. #Only people with experience and reasonable contribution should comment please, Thank. |

Mathematics as a subject is feared

Mathematics as a subject is feared
globally, not just in Nigeria says
Professor Sam Ale, a former
Director-General of the National
Mathematical Centre.
Ale said this in a recent interview
with Daily Trust in Abuja.
According to him, the fear of the
subject is not a Nigerian problem
because students all over the world
fear it..
“All over the world, there is apathy
towards mathematics because
people think the subject is
difficult,” Ale said.
“That’s a problem faced all over the
globe, not only in Nigeria.” Immediately you mention that you
are a mathematician, people will
refer to you as a terror.
“Majority of people don’t like the
subject and are scared of it.”
The Professor noted that only with
advancement in Mathematics can
the world progress.
“The advancement in the world is
together. I can make bold to say
that the world cannot advance
without advancement in
mathematics,” he added.
“Yes, it is a disease of many
students and people generally; but
truly, we need it to advance.”
He called on the government to pay
special attention to rural education,
noting that, “until educational
facilities are improved upon,
mathematics as a subject will not
thrive.” |

Egusi Soup is a Nigerian Soup which
is made with melon seeds and
enriched with spices and vegetables.
It can be prepared with leafy
vegetables, such as ugwu( fluted
pumpkin leaves), bitter leaf, spinach
and the likes.
Below is my grandma's favorite, a
recipe prepared with bitter leaf.
Ingredients for the Egusi Soup (a.k.a
Ofe Egusi / Obe Efo Elegusi)
* 3 medium cups Egusi Seeds(melon
seeds)
* Assorted meat (shaki, cow meat, goat
meat , turkey meat, chicken, pork meat
etc )
* Assorted dry fish of choice
(stockfish etc)
* Dried Prawns ( optional )
* Red Palm Oil: 2 cooking spoons
* 1 tablespoonful ground Crayfish
* Bitter leaf( as desired)
* Ugu/Spinach( 3 handful)
* 2 seasoning cubes
* Pepper (to taste)
* Salt (to taste)
Cooking directions for Egusi soup
Preps:
a. Boil the assorted meat and stock
fish, with chopped onions, one
seasoning cube and salt to taste.
Cook until tender and set aside for
later use.
b. Clean the dried prawns by
separating the heads&tails from the
center.
Grind the heads&tails and set aside
to use in the soup. Then soak the
center in hot water , to soften and
clean it.
c. Grind the egusi seeds until smooth
and then dissolve with lukewarm
water to form a paste.
Now to cook the Egusi Soup
1. Heat up the palm oil until hot, add
diced onions and the dissolved egusi.
Fry for about 20 minutes, stirring
constantly until it thickens.
2. Add the bitter leaf and a little water
or the meat stock. Add the prawns
and leave to simmer for 5 minutes
3. Now add the cooked meat and
stock fish. Add the ground prawns(or
crayfish), ground pepper and
seasoning cubes. Boil for 15 minutes.
4. Add the sliced spinach leaves and
simmer for 5 minutes and the soup is
ready. |
