Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode otherwise known as FFK on Thursday reacted to statement credited to Professor Umar Labdo Muhammad of the Faculty of Humanities, Northwest University, Kano that Benue State belongs to the Fulanis by right of conquest.

Chief Kayode, who berated the University lecturer noted that every land Fulani herdsmen took from the Indigenous people in the past will be “reclaimed and retaken.

In FFK's words;

“Benue state belongs to the Fulani by right of conquest -Umar Muhammed. “Those whom the gods wish to destroy they first drive mad. Every inch of land that was taken by the Fulani invaders from the indigenous people Nigeria over the last 200 years shall be reclaimed and retaken.”

Prof. Muhammad had based his claim on the fact that half of Benue State is part of the Bauchi Emirate and also half of the Adamawa Emirate. In a post on his Facebook, Muhammad stressed that by extension, Benue is “part and parcel of Sokoto Caliphate” as such nobody has the right to expel Fulani from the state.

He also stated that Fulani are the largest single nation in the African continent and they have “remained unbeatable throughout their history.”

Former Cross River state governor, Donald Duke, on Sunday night, January 14 in Abuja has said that he will contest to become Nigeria next president in the 2019 general elections, Vanguard reports.
African Entertainment gathered that Duke, who declared his interest at the 3rd Mike Omotosho Annual Lecture titled, “Mellinials as Protagonists in Nation Building,” promised to kick-start the process at the right circumstances.

He said: “I am entitled to run for the presidency of this country. I am entitled to it. Only on right circumstances I will aspire for it. I don’t shy away from responsibility, only the right circumstance, I will aspire for presidency of this country. I have what it takes to be president of this country."

However the former governor, challenged the youths to fully participate in the electoral process by getting their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) and sensitising others ahead of 2019 general election.
Duke said, “I hear young people say to me that why would there spend hours queuing and casting their votes when at the end their votes won’t count. And I tell that if their parents conceived them they never gave up on them considering the high mortality rate so why would there not take a chance in building this nation?
“We had young leadership at one stage or the other. Even in our first republic, besides the likes of Awolowo, Tafawa Balewa, M. T. Mbu was in his twenties when he became a minister.

“Gowon was 30 when he became the head of state. It comes back to the disaster therein because most of them didn’t have experience in governance, which led us into war. We need the combination of both.
“What I think we should be doing is to a government that is youth friendly to provide opportunities because we need to groom the next set of leadership.”
The former governor, while rating the activities of the present administration, said, there was disconnection between President Muhammadu Buhari and his cabinet members, adding that: “The challenge we have today is the disconnect. That is the challenge of the governance today. Because if you speak with the folks in government, and I am been candid here.
I think we should stop to deceive ourselves here and stop all these political correctness. There is disconnecting between the president and even the ministers.”

He attributed the failure of governance on the lack of consequences for erring leaders which has given room for incompetence.
African Entertainment previously reported that Former Cross River state governor, Donald Duke, on Thursday, November 2, 2017, criticised President Muhammadu Buhari-led government for rejoicing over Nigeria’s ‘exit’ from recession.

This Day reports that Duke, who said he was broke, also advised the administration to work harder, stating that the masses were yet to feel the development.
Duke sounded a bleak warning that all is not well in Nigeria, despite the September news that the country was out of recession.

The abducted Taraba lawmaker Hosea Ibi has been found dead. The lifeless body of the lawmaker representing Takum I constituency in the Taraba State House of Assembly, was found on the road in Takum local government on Tuesday.

Hon. Ibi was kidnapped by unknown gunmen two weeks ago back in his hometown, Takum.

Ibi was kidnapped on Saturday, December 30th at about 10 pm in his hometown Takum was killed by his abductors after an undisclosed sum of money was paid as ransom for his release.

APC governors and the National working committee of the party will be meeting on Wednesday, January 17th to marshal out plans for the upcoming general elections and pick a date for its much anticipated national convention.

This meeting is the first strategic meeting held by the party this year and it will be at the party's headquarters in Abuja. PoliticsNGR gathered that parties in the consultative meeting will discuss and deliberate on the 2019 general elections timetable recently released by INEC.

A source disclosed; "As you know, this will be the first consultative meeting and, therefore, it is not clear whether the National Assembly members will be in attendance. But, the meeting will be attended by the governors as other strategic issues regarding the APC winning the 2019 general elections would be discussed," he said.

Ezeanyaeche told Independent that he is not speaking as an ordinary Nigerian, or a Buhari supporter but as a prophet who had revelations from God.

The cleric vowed that Atiku will never be president, adding that Buhari will complete his eight-year tenure.

He also said that God told him there will be plans to eliminate President Buhari, who, according to him, would hand over to someone who is more decisive.

He said, “What I am saying is what God had revealed to me about this country and about Buhari and what Nigeria is going to be. Everything is working according to God’s plan. God brought this man in to strengthen issues.

“Atiku defeating Buhari in an election is like having a carmel passing through the eye of a needle. It cannot be possible. He cannot. Atiku has lost the key to the presidency since 2006. There is no way he can be the president of Nigeria, even if he contests for 10, 20 times, he will not be the president of this country.

“God revealed it to me. In 2006, I warned him. You finished the 8 years as a Vice President, stay away let another person contribute his quota. But he hardened his heart and that was when God took away that blessing from him.

“So whether he contests against Buhari or he contests against another person, Atiku will not be the president of this country because God has taken the key from him.

“Atiku is not going anywhere. God revealed to me that Buhari will rule this country for 8 years and there will be an attempt to eliminate him and that has already happened.

“God saved him because he has to fulfil his mandate. So anybody that will come after Buhari will have to wait till he finishes the work God wanted him to do.

“I want Nigerians to be very watchful or very careful because the man that will succeed Buhari will be more decisive than Buhari and Nigerians will cry for the return of Buhari.

“Nigerians will clamour for Buhari to come back to power. Buhari is very soft compared to the man that will come after him. APC will still be in power.

“I am telling you is what God revealed to me. You can hardly know that Buhari is a military general because of his humility, his courage and the way he relates with people. He is different from someone who would promise what he can’t fulfil. Buhari is a silent achiever.

“I prefer Buhari to Atiku because God revealed these things to me. God revealed Atiku to me in 2006 when he was working as Vice President under Obasanjo.”
