i blame the woman. for cry at loud you have why hugging another person in the presence of your hubby? lack of self respect. grin
QueenDeborah:
A woman lose her marriage after hugging a policeman she regarded as her course mate long ago in the University in the presence of her husband..... This happened at a police checking point..
As usual, a police man stopped a car and started demanding for the drivers license, the duration of the argument made the wife of the man to come out of the car, at least to know what was wrong.
One of the policemen who was at the other lane of the road also came to know what was wrong .
But immediately he crossed the road, the woman shouted his name and they hugged each other..
According to them, it has been long they graduated from the University, and during the time in school, they were very close friends.
The police man immediately settled the argument between the man and his colleague ..But the husband to the woman in anger told his wife that their marriage is over since she can have the audacity to hug a man in his presence...

The woman in tears tried to explain but the man told her to enter the car and they left......
On this issue now, who is to blame?.... The man, the police officer or the woman.

Politics / Re: Fayose Has Been A Cog In The Wheel Of Progress In Ekiti - MFR by emmalord(m): 1:25pm On May 08, 2018
hmmm. well said Mr MFR.But to me Fayose might not be well performing governor as expecting from him but better than fayemi in different ways in term of infrastructure and education in is state. grin grin grin
mfrspeaks:
When we look around for performing Governors, I’m not very sure if Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State can fall between 1 - 5 but some will place their life on a bet to argue in support of him as one of the best performing Governors in Nigeria.

John Wesley MFR has a different opinion about Governor Fayose and his performance in Ekiti State in this close up interview with him:

How Will You Describe The Present State Of Ekiti Under Governor Fayose’s Watch?

Thank you very much! In fairness to Governor Peter Ayodele Fayose, he’s a very rugged and grassroot politician who is likeable but doesn’t carry the aura of true leadership and administrative prowess.

When You Say Aura of True Leadership and Administrative Prowess; What Do You Mean?

It is not enough to be likeable and be a grassrooter. So much more is required in the area of service delivery to the people who must have built high hopes and expectations having expressed so much love and likeness for you. It becomes extremely disappointing and unworthy of note when all the people get in return in the place of sincere leadership and service delivery is dramatic felicitations and empathetic rascality.

Dramatic Felicitations and Empathetic Rascality?

That’s just what it is my brother. It is a show of I know what the people want and I give it to them to the best of my ability because it’s new to them unlike past leaders who they don’t see on the streets of Ajilosun with Okada riders taking Ogogoro or seen at the Amala spot eating abula right in the face of the public, or pricing Pomo at the Oba’s market and buying of Christmas biscuits and sweets for children whose parents you have not paid their salaries for above five months (5Months). It is crystal clear like the Babylonian men-mene tekel yufasin that Governor Fayose has done nothing in the interest of the Ekiti people than being a cog in the wheel of progress in the state.
I am heartbroken that none of the gracious resources of the state have been harnessed by the Governor to ensure better life for the people beyond his agenda of stomach infrastructure. The people of Ekiti are born elites who deserve so much more from any leader who professes love for the state.

What Do You Think Can Be Done?

Engage more in capacity building, throw government doors open for business activations and consolidation within the state which will in turn create job opportunities and increase the state’s IGR. It is also very germane to invest in agriculture sincerely in order to increase the food bank of the state and attract trade of farm produce which will also create jobs.

Finally, place a clarion call on all technocrat sons of the soil to come home for a way forward rubbing-minds in the interest of the state.

Thank You Very Much For Your Time Sir.

You are welcome and God Bless The Federal Republic of Nigeria!

The heartbreaking pictures below shows the damages a very deep gully erosion has caused and about to do more in a community behind Ogah Memorial Grammar School in Idah Kogi state. This is happening even after the state government received ecological funds in billions of naira from the federal government about a year ago.

Overtime, the people have called on the state government to come to aid as tens of people keep loosing their homes to erosion every year. So far, the government have done absolutely nothing to help the citizens.

The rainy season is here again and more house will go if nothing is done about this menace.

Recall that the state government earlier received ecological funds from the state government about a year ago? still nothing was done to arrest this situation.

madman talk.
ceoreportnaija:

President Muhammadu Buhari says many Nigerian youths just want to sit down and do nothing, banking on the notion that Nigerian is an oil-rich nation.

Speaking at the Commonwealth Business Forum in Westminster on Wednesday, the president said a lot of Nigerian youths have not been to school and they want everything free.

“About the economy, we have a very young population, our population is estimated conservatively to be 180 million. This is a very conservative one,” Buhari said.

“More than 60 percent of the population is below 30, a lot of them haven’t been to school and they are claiming that Nigeria is an oil producing country, therefore, they should sit and do nothing, and get housing, healthcare, education free.”

The President said he has done well on the three cardinal points of his campaign, including economy and security.

“Recently, my minister for information was constrained to answer a question on people accusing this administration of doing nothing, he said ‘let Nigerians be reminded what position we were before May 2015, what condition we are now, and what we have achieved between then and now and I think people were impressed with the answer.

“For security, we have done quite well. Economy, we are doing very well, especially with agriculture; we are providing soft loans, and guarantee is that you have to belong to a certain locality and you have got land, you don’t have to go to the bank and need a physical collateral. I think a lot is being done.”

The president is expected to meet with business leaders and other heads of state as the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting progress through the week

Politics / Re: Adebayo Shittu To Omoyele Sowore: "Inconsequential, Go Contest For Councillor" by emmalord(m): 10:52am On Apr 09, 2018
Mr shittu is old school brain like pmb. am not surprise he is despite youth presidential aspirant.
ivandragon:
There was heated exchange between Nigeria’s communication minister, Adebayo Shittu, and a presidential aspirant, Omoyele Sowore, on a public affairs radio programme in Ibadan on Saturday.

Mr Sowore, publisher of Sahara Reporters, was in Ibadan in continuation of his campaign efforts. He arrived Lagos from the UK earlier in the week.

The programme, monitored by PREMIUM TIMES’ correspondent, held on Fresh FM, Ibadan, owned by foremost broadcaster and musician, Yinka Ayefele.
The interview had barely kicked off when the debate became heated.

“Minister, it is great to see you. This is the minister of an outgoing regime; the Buhari regime will be kicked off power by 2019,” Mr Sowore said shortly after the programme began.

He had barely concluded his introductory statement when Mr Shittu fired back, saying the Sahara Reporters’ publisher is a dreamer.

“By your wish or by God’s wish? You are just dreaming. You are a day dreamer” he said in response to Mr Sowore’s claim to which the presidential hopeful replied saying, “By the wish of the people of Nigeria, Sir. It is not a dream. It is the realisation you’d wake up to on February 15.”

Mr Shittu retorted: “Sowore, what’s your electoral worth? Whether in your Ife (sic), home or any part of this country.” Mr Sowore replied: “My electoral worth brought you to power in 2015. Nobody even heard about many of you in 2014.”

The minister thereafter said the Sahara Reporters publisher didn’t know about him because he was inconsequential in politics. “You are inconsequential…” he said.
In defence, Mr Sowore said he was consequential because Mr Shittu and others came to power by the efforts of young Nigerians like him.

He said, “I am consequential because you came to power on my back, on our back… on the back of young people who invested a lot of hope.”

In response, the minister described the publisher as a mere noise-maker. “What did you invest? Did you invest more than me, No? I will not sit here and allow someone make noise…You are just a noisemaker. You are just a noisemaker.”

The Sahara Reporters publisher thereafter warned that the minster’s conduct was typical of the same way handlers of former President Goodluck Jonathan treated Nigerians before they were defeated at the polls in 2015.

“This was the same way Jonathan people were sounding in 2014… you are gonna be shocked in 2019,” Mr Sowore said. On accusations by the minister that he was a dreamer and that his statements were politically motivated, he said: “The Nigeria of the future is for dreamers like me.”

Apparently angered by Mr. Sowore’s statements, Mr. Shittu said: “You think the presidency is for people like you? Go and start from being a councillor. I have been a member of the House of Assembly, I was a commissioner twice, I was already a lawyer… you wouldn’t know, you were too small.

How old are you? How old are you? This is not a platform for minions like you to come… you think the presidency is something you can just buy in a market place? You are a giant in university politics (and) by the grace of God you will be put to shame.”

The anchor of the programme, Isaac Brown, momentarily brought the situation under control but the coordinated conversation didn’t last long before it turned into a shouting match yet again.

When asked to explain the rationale for vying for the presidency, the 47-year-old publisher said he had been around for thirty years fighting for the betterment of the country. He also said he had built a media platform whose reportage help bring the present government into power.
“That’s rubbish!” Mr Shittu fired back. “I have been in politics since you were born. For forty years, I have been in politics and I was already a lawyer before I joined politics forty years ago. You can’t be here and talk rubbish.

“This is rubbish! You want to become president? You are a day dreamer. Who will make you president? You will be president of your Ife… not Nigeria. Go and be president in Ife. You think it is cheap as that? We will see…”

On the #NotTooYoungToRun initiative, Mr Sowore said it was not enough for the youth to simply contest on the basis of their being young.

“You have to take power because we are responsible and should be responsible for it. That’s why we are having a heated argument here. I have been doing this for thirty years; by next year, it will be thirty years. We are the ones that fought for the democracy they are enjoying today,” he said.

Few weeks back, an ex-aide to Mr Shittu had in an open letter accused the minister of gross abuse of power, accumulation of ill-gotten wealth and refusal to pay his aides’ allowances. The long letter, which was circulated widely online, was also published by Sahara Reporters. The minister would later refute the allegations and challenge the aide to publish evidences of his alleged ill-gotten wealth.

In the course of the programme on Saturday, Mr Shittu accused the publisher of publishing falsehood against him without contacting him to verify the fact, an accusation to which Mr. Sowore replied by saying the minister barely picked his calls and reply messages.

“We do (contact affected parties in a story for reaction) but they don’t react until they get into trouble,” he said. “I have your (Mr. Shittu) telephone number… I called you. I had sent you text messages even before now but because you think I am inconsequential, you ignored me.”

Mr Shittu, who said Mr Sowore needs ‘mentoring’, thereafter threatened to sue the Sahara Reporters publisher over the said publication.

“Minister, you know what Fela said: take me to court and I will open book for you,” Mr Sowore said amidst laughter.

done sir. wisdom is rare grin
owoicho13:
Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state yesterday barred Fulani herdsmen from entering Enyanwu Igwe village, Igbeagu community in Izzi local government area of the state where the last incident of Herdsmen/farmers clash took place pending the conclusion of investigation into the incident by the state government.

The Governor stated this during an enlarged security meeting at the government House, Abakaliki Both the Governor and the National Chairman of Myetti Allah, Alhaji Bello Bodejo warned that the incessant killings by herdsmen might spark-off national war if not properly addressed even as they called for caution in handling the herdsmen menace in the state.

The last incident left four persons dead with two still in critical conditions. Leaders of cattle herders in south east and south south states, stakeholders of the troubled community as well as all the security chiefs in the state were in attendance during the enlarged security meeting.

Addressing the gathering, Umahi who described the killings in Enyanwu Igwe village as unprovoked killings, ordered herdsmen around the area to leave the place until he calm the embittered villagers down to avoid reprisal attack. ”It is unprovoked killings, life is so sacred.

You can’t kill people as if they are fowls. Izzi people are warriors, I physically held them not to go for retaliation. The herdsmen there in Izzi have to leave the place for now until I can calm everybody down. The way we are going, it can provoke national war and it will not help anybody. If there is reprisal attack, I will hold all the leaders squarely responsible, I will charge all of you for any reprisal attack. ”The lives of every Ebonyian is very dear to me.

God forbid, I can’t withstand where 76 people were killed like in Benue, I can’t withstand it. Some people may be fighting to die but we fight to live, lets use wisdom and handle the matter. “This is a National problem; we don’t want our people to continue killed. We must use wisdom to handle this problem. It is very easy to say I want all the herdsmen to leave Ebonyi but there are lots of implication”, he said.

He regretted that agreement reached between the state and herdsmen in the area for peaceful co-existence have been destroyed. “We banned under aged herders, we banned night grazing in the state. We have no grazing routes in Ebonyi which means that nobody has the right to carry cattle by route to Ebonyi state and we agreed on that.

We also agreed with the Herdsmen that the first offender must be prosecuted. We also said that no farmer should go to farm with gun and no herdsmen should rear cattle with gun or matchete, it is stick. We must abide by these rules”. While addressing Umahi, National Chairman of Myetti Allah, Bello Bodejo corroborated with the Governor that incident killings in the country can cause chaos in the country.

He said the state has been very accommodative to the herdsmen, warning that it should not be abused. “Ebonyi state is very peaceful and it is accommodating to our members. It has been so accommodating to our members even more than some Northern states of the federation and we condemn these killings in this state .

There are minors and migrants who are causing these lots of problems. There are also criminals moving as cattle herders who are causing these havocs. The Chairman of Myetti Allah of various states in the south east and south are all here and we are not happy with what happened, we condemn these killings in totality.

“Nigeria is confronted with so many security challenges and one of them is the unfortunate farmer/herder conflict. If this conflict is not resolved, it has the potential of throwing this country into unnecessary chaos”, he said. Meanwhile, the National Chairman and the leaders of the herders across south east and south south will meet with the herdsmen in the state for two days over the crisis.

Politics / Re: Ambode Pays His Land Use Charge At GTBank (Photos) by emmalord(m): 3:25pm On Feb 19, 2018
well done sir. good example
londonrivals:
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode on Monday paid his Land Use Charge, with an announcement that the State Government will no longer accept cash payment in revenue collection effective from March 1, 2018.

Speaking shortly after paying at Opebi branch of Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) in the presence of top management staff of the bank, Governor Ambode said the measure was aimed at improving on service delivery to residents of the State and as well block all revenue leakages.

He said the transaction process in revenue collection has now been made easy for the people who, according to the Governor, can now pay every day, any time and online.

“In order to ensure that the government improves on the quality of service delivery to our people, effective from 1st March, 2018, no payment or taxes will be made by cash henceforth across the State.

“Tax payers should be able to pay all legitimate bills through all payment channels at their own time and convenience. The transaction process is now going to be every day, anytime and no weekends.

“We should be able to pay our taxes from any bank, any branch using webpay, paypoint and USSD, thereby encouraging mobile money without any contact with government officials. I repeat, every kobo counts; do not pay into wrong hands anymore,” Governor Ambode said.

He said in partnership with Interswitch Limited, all the multi-layer platforms would henceforth be deployed and used by all government Ministries, Agencies, Parastatals, Associated Companies and Units.

While explaining the rationale behind his decision to lead the payment of Land Use Charge, Governor Ambode said the State Government could not preach and promise prosperity without leading by example, just as he urged residents and all taxable adults to be faithful to their civic obligations.

He said: “Today, what we are doing is to back up our talk with our work. The State Government cannot be promising prosperity in the future without investing in the future. I have just invested my quota by paying my Land Use Charge and I ask all residents and citizens to join me by courageously making a decision for prosperity and pay all their due taxes.

“Just as I paid, instantly, I received my receipt as evidence of payment which shows that every kobo I have invested is going directly to the Lagos State Government account.

“Lagosians, with your full support, there is evidence that every kobo paid in taxes has been productively utilized in infrastructural renewal and development of this State in the last two and half years.

“It is my hope that we have gained your trust and confidence to move this State forward. For every one kobo you pay as taxes, we will give greater value and comfort to all citizens without anyone left behind.”

Besides, the Governor directed all the Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the State to adjust their collection machineries to also eliminate all leakages.

“Finally, I appeal to all taxable adults to be patriotic in this crusade. That flyover or health centre is built from you taxes and contributions. The facility provided is for everybody irrespective of tribe, religion or creed. Let us show the rest of Nigerians what it is to be a proud Lagosian. Perform your civic duties, it is the right thing to do,” he said.
