BusinessRe: Retailers: Why We Can't Sell BUA Cement At N3,500 by emmanuelbrown26: 5:29pm On Oct 28, 2023
osazsky:
how were they able to sell for 5500 before bua reduced it to 3500 and they are still selling for 5500 or was bua giving them for 3500 then
How much was diesel weeks back and how much is it now
Diesel keeps adding money on monthly bases. We bought diesel at d rate of 1050 at NNPC outlet on Wednesday, then on Thursday we saw 1300 per liter
Fed govt has a lot of work to do. Immediately Bua reduced d price, I expected FG to backup Bus with means of transportation by subsidizing cost of diesel or setup stations in every state where it will be much easier for retailers to convey it to their various destination.
Price reduction, FG has a whole lot of work to do

This is a beautiful article. People should stop praying for the downfall of the country because someone lost the election

Politicans are indeed outsmarting us jor
First and foremost, those that blocked Ojota should come and apologise to Nigerians before normalcy and peace will be restored

You think na Politicians/Leaders be our only problem abi?
Just look into the Mirror and look around and you will realize that everybody dey greedy.
How do u expect a truck driver to buy diesel at d rate of 1300 per liter to do?
And what do u expect a retailer that will hire truck driver to do?
U guys don't understand chains of supply at all
BusinessRe: Retailers: Why We Can't Sell BUA Cement At N3,500 by emmanuelbrown26: 4:14pm On Oct 28, 2023
U dont expect retailers to sell at that rate when there's no other means of transport except trucking.
Liter of diesel is now 1300 as against 1050 three days ago. So when u factor cost of transport, cost of loading and other miscellaneous u will understand that Nigerians are in for d real shit
When BUA announced crash in price of cement, what I expected govt to do was get involve in setting up centers of landing, from their it will be easier for retailers to convey it to their choice of location, that alone will save them transport cost in landing from Benin to the various locations.
Govt has a lot of work to do, not only ronu up and down

Production is way more than thinking capacity of most people, that's why owners of multinational companies are few in every country compared to the population, that's why retailers are always more in number than manufacturers, it's beyond u, there's no point having this conversation.
Is their any chance that prices of goods will come down and how?
BusinessRe: Is There Any Chance That Prices Of Goods And Services Will Come Down? by emmanuelbrown26: 10:52pm On Oct 27, 2023
JagabanB:
I don't do retail.
I haven't fancied retail before, the last time I did retailing business was in 2009.
We cañ't shun production, that's my message.
Production is the sure way to economic freedom not doing retail and tag it "business".
Lolssss, how can one venture into production when d cost of production is outta of dis world, who will suffer it most if not d poor masses
Ur useless president rushed and removed subsidy without any backup plan, and u are here talking about production
Cost of diesel is 1300 right now, how many drums can a production firm use in a day

It depends, my friend just launched his Toyota strictly for his business and some important runs.
D truth is that majority of Nigerians are dying of hunger, somebody telling u that people will adapt is still living in fool paradise.

What are you saying?
We are not talking about retailing here, we are talking about manufacturing.
D topic said price of goods and services, it didn't say price of production
We bought diesel on Wednesday at d rate of 1050, Thursday morning it went up to 1300. So those in production, how do u expect them to survive?
Some idiots will say go and farm, d idiot saying farm is still eating mama thank u

That's where empowerment comes in.
Is there no electricity in Nigeria?
Of course there is, big industries across the country are powered by same Nigerian electricity for almost 24 hours a day.
A dollar can be equal to A naira and without empowerment to go into production, the society will still be where it is.
D earlier u guys keep ur mouth shit d better. We are into retail and we do spend 150k weekly on fuel. So how do u want customers to survive when we are spending such an amount on weekly bases?
Do u know what it means? We hv to factor cost of fuel in d retail business.

Our issues is not with dollar, that's where most of u Nigerians have misplaced priorities.
Our major problem is with production.
If u happen to be in places like Benue during harvest season, u will hear that a paint rubber of groundnut sells for as low as #400 or #500.
In other times, it sells for double that price.
This is just an illustration to show us that things will become cheaper when we have it in abundance.
Prices of goods and services will reduce only when we have them in abundance, how do we get them in abundance, by investing in production, what we should be agitating for is support from all quarters, from FG, various State Governments, wealthy individuals to invest into the society by empowering young Nigerians with the finance to go into production.
The energy we use in posting, reposting and talking about dollar, if Nîgeriàns channel that energy into this, we won't be talking about dollars on the long run and things will be easier then.
U used benue state as an example and u ended up saying nothing. Though I wanted to chip in ways it can be done but not with senseless people

THANK YOU LORD!
Honestly, had it eseka12 gave that guy money, personally I would hv being so disappointed bcs he can't be causing nuisance here every now and then and still expect somebody to give him money
He should go and hustle bcs all northern guys I know here in Lagos are no longer begging.
They are selling any agricultural produce that comes, season of water Mellon u see them selling, season of oranges u see them, just name why dis vagabond is here causing nuisance.
If that abba190 is sensible enough, he has more advantage than some of his northern brothers, he can leverage on social media to hustle but d idiot guy is after doing almajiri work on nairaland

Miravik900:
So you think the rate will hit up again?
Like I said earlier on, it will keep going up.
I remember how much I made within few days of d swearing in.
After d election, I started buying fuel at d rate of 184 or 189 bcs I knew that Tinubu will definitely remove subsidy without any backup plan
Then, when I got hint of GSK leaving Nigeria, I bought whole lot of their products and kept, after 2weeks of their departure, their products became scarce and costly. I started reselling to medicine stores around.
From d look of things, Tinubu does not care about people, all he is after is people that sing songs of praise for him
If u can take d risk fine, if u can't take d risk, keep ur money.
During 2019 elections, one financial investor told me that d rate naira will climb if they declare buhari winner people won't believe it, after d announcement of d elections, it happened d way d investor told me and d baba made whole lot of money
Right now NO PLAN IN PLACE TO CURTAIN DIS CURRENCY WAHALA

I know it will get to dis stage and even more bcs whole lot of things is playing out and more are still warming up in dis Tinubu administration.

It's the sad reality and the worse is people like that are in the majority

If elections hold today millions would still vote Tinubu that's the truth

Tinubu rigged yes but you need to get a certain number before you could rig if not it would be obvious like rivers and benue

You can't rig from 10% to 51% ...but you can rig from 45 to 51%

Tinubu didn't win but he got substantial votes

The fact he got that much votes should worry any Nigerian
Exactly what I told somebody that was telling Mr that Tinubu rigged.
Before one rigs an election, he already has supporters, without supporters, u can't rig an election.
Well, let everybody move on and tighten his belt bcs d economic worst days are ahead, that's d reality.

PoliticsRe: Are Hausas/fulanis Still The Most Trustworthy Tribe In Nigeria? by emmanuelbrown26: 10:50pm On Oct 26, 2023
There are factors one has to put into consideration before coming out to say who's more trustworthy
North has being ruling Nigeria for years and yet everyday we keep hearing billions of naira missing
D poor hausa that hv never tasted money and hv not gotten exposure is more trustworthy than southern counterpart.
Before u conclude on who's more trustworthy, u hv to separate northern rich men and southern richmen.
Also, northern poor people and southern poor people, that alone will give u d answer.
