Some of you really are stupid defined

Most communities in the Niger Delta are not connected to the national grid cos most oil companies supply them electricity from gas turbines

So there is constant electricity

This one parked up if not the story won't be here

Go to bonny island
Is it also connected to the national grid

If you ve no understanding of the life's of the Niger Deltan

Please shut up
angry
what you said was right. I happen to do my NYSC in a community in Ndokwa East in Delta state. the community has constant power from a gas turbine from an oil company sited there.
they used electricity for free all day and night . so the issue of national grid isn't applicable here to most of this Niger Delta community as they are sitting on power and why pay for what they have in abundance....

The belief is that if you don't work in a corporate environment, wearing suit n tie then you are irresponsible or a hustler that has nothing to offer.

The internet has opened opportunity for people to work casually and still make more. My friend with Deloitte told me he gets 180k as salary and I advice him to quit that job cos i noticed he puts more effort in this job than I do with my "hustles" yet I make more than he does monthly... tbh, sometimes, I earn his monthly salary within a week. I really wish he would be man enough to decide it's time to get full reward for his effort by quitting that 180k/month job cos I know he works more than he earns.

Keep riding your okada and no look woman face. Any woman that despise you now will have no value to you when you eventually achieve your goals.
I don't mind if you also show me the way bro...help a bro in need too...

with 3m,the op can venture into agriculture big time...I will suggest he procure a land for the cultivation in rural areas, dig borehole and go into plantain plantation on a big scale... the ROI is just 9months..subsequently,he can go into oil palm and cocoa plantation for the time been...this will make him a labour employer in some years... all this are human necessities and consumables...

let him think deeply and derive pleasure in making a for himself in agriculture..

Very easy.

Gather wood. Burn them till they turn ash. Collect and sieve. You have your ash.

It will turn whitish that's how u know u have complete combustion. And not charcoal black
wood burning for ash production is gonna lead to ecosystem degradation and green house effects... so one problem solved create another one...

Wake up and smell the coffee, bro'. How will gas flaring stop, if the locals do not allow those who are expected to process the gas to form LPG, CNG etc, and divert it to power, or for domestic use to do so?? When you continually kidnap their personnel and steal their equipment, how will the gas gathering projects to harness the gas being flared, end up being set up?? Will it be done by spirits or ghosts? sad
you are right bro...just an advocate of clean environment and sustainable energy to all and sundry.. I was amazed to seeing billion cubic feet of gas flared each year but nothing substantial is done... who do you blame at the long run? the government, host community or oil company??
are you an oil company worker?

How can gas flaring stop when the people of the Niger-Delta who live in the creeks, do not want it to come to an end? shocked Oya, go there today and offload all the equipment, resources and personnel to set up a project to capture & process the gas, that is being flared. See what would happen:

1). Indigenous communities would kidnap your staff, under the pretext that they have no right to trespass on their land, even though you legitimately bought and paid for it in full; You even have the correct documentation pertaining to the transaction. sad

2). Militants and their ilk would steal or destroy your equipment, under the guise of demanding one development levy or the other - (it doesn't matter how much community levies you have paid in the past); undecided

3). The security personnel would decline to offer you protection, claiming that your area isn't under their jurisdiction, or that they lack money, men and proper ammunition to offer your staff adequate protection; angry

So until the natives become more friendly and are willing to work with investors to put in place projects that would stop gas flaring, nothing would happen!! Abi na who be mumu?? shocked

All your points are already know to exists in the first instance. what we are saying is that the environmental degradation caused by this oil companies are so devastating. if only u live near a gas plant where gas is been flared..then you will know what is really going on there..

you are aware of our country's signatory to climate change so,the earlier we stop the so called gas flaring and convert the gases into other useful areas like power generation, domestic use, liquefied gas etc...

PoliticsWhen Will Gas Flaring In Niger Delta Stop??? by emmanuelpopson(op): 1:10pm On Jan 04, 2017
The oil industry is abusing the human rights of hundreds of thousands of people in Nigeria's Niger Delta region. So far, the Nigerian government can't or won't hold oil companies accountable. The Demand Dignity Campaign is pressuring multinational corporations like Shell, and the government of Nigeria, to clean up the Niger Delta. As part of that work, Amnesty International USA's new Eyes on Nigeria project uses the power of satellite technology to monitor oil industry abuses in the region.
A major source of oil pollution is the practice of gas flaring -- burning off excess gas as waste. Communities affected by flaring and organizations working on oil industry pollution have raised serious concerns about the risks to human health -- about which many questions remain unanswered. The poorest communities are among the hardest hit.
The people of the Niger Delta need a real deadline for ending gas flaring -- and they need full transparency about the health risks of flaring.
Amnesty International and its partners will deliver this petition to the Nigerian government, Shell, ENI, Total, Chevron and other multinational oil companies active in the Niger Delta.

PoliticsRe: Nigeria To Build Nuclear Plants – Onu by emmanuelpopson(m): 10:12am On Dec 22, 2016
asorocker:
This is the best Idea by the APC government so far, they should endeavour to site it in Lagos and Kano as this would solve the perenial electricity problem of the 2 most populous states in Nigeria , it will also serve to boost the industrialization of the 2 states and deepen the cost effective manufacture of goods and services and reduce the quantum waste in Diesel.

This is the best News so far i have heard this year.

Kudos to the best APC Ministers in Buhari's cabinet and a first class Engineer.

Please this 2 Nuclear plants can only be meaningful if they are sighted in the Lagos and kano states as they are core APC states and should not be wasted in wailers states as the wailers are in opposition parties.
Lagos to me won't be ideal to site the nuclear plant due to some environmental factors I will list below..

1. Geologically,Lagos Is a sedimentary terrain that such plants can't stand the underground pressure
2.nuclear plant cannot be sited in a populated environment like Lagos due to the radiation and waste
3.Lagos state is a coastal state.. nuclear plants are usually sited in a basement complex(hard rocks) environment..

thanks and God bless

we all hear of the plastic rice but what is the ministry of information, NOA doing to enlighten the general public on how to safeguard themselves from falling victims of this rice..

Also how does the rice looks like, taste, its color when cooked etc should be the major concern.. This awareness will help the gullible Nigerians, uneducated folks..

Radio, television, social media, newspaper should have been used to informed the populace..

the dangers of consuming this useless plastic rice is my major concern now..

may God help us in this country..
