jerryadigun: Baba, use your education and influence to fight for the disintegration of this country. Perhaps we may have a system as similar to the EU commission.
Nigeria is big enough to have up to 8 countries. Moreover, there are countries in EU with population not up to the efik/ibibio tribe e.g Iceland, Finland, Croatia etc.
If you think you have a chance in this highly tribalized country, then you are the most naive politician I know.
Enough said.
P.S it's high time we started talking about the future of this country. Diversity has never helped any country. No matter who becomes president, the country is doomed to fail under this present arrangement. United in favour of certain group. Without equity Nigeria must be history one day. Time and patient shall handle the imminent disintegration. I love Nigeria. I love united Nigeria but especially Fulanis must be caution. |

Politics › El-rufai Eating His Vomits by emmie14(op): 7:26am On Jul 16, 2018 |
]Quit presidential race now , El-Rufai tells Buhari, IBB From AIDOGHIE PAULINUS, Abuja Thursday, September 30, 2010
• El-Rufai Photo: Sun News Publishing More Stories on This Section Former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, has asked former military rulers, Generals Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB) and Muhammadu Buhari, to quit the 2011 presidential race.
Speaking with Daily Sun in Abuja at the Leadership independence conference organized by the Leadership Newspaper on Nigeria at 50, El-Rufai canvassed the enthronement of a new generation of leaders.
“I have great respect for President Babangida. I think he has done a lot for Nigeria. You won’t take that from him. He has made his mistakes like every human being, but people like President Babangida and General Buhari should just disappear. They should give way to a new set of people with new ideas. Young people preferably,” El-Rufai said.
El-Rufai said the whole world is now being ruled by young people and wondered why old blood should continue to rule Nigeria. “Obama is 48 and Cameron is 43 for God’s sake. So, why are we recycling leaders that ruled this country very well or very badly 25 years ago?,” he queried.
El-Rufai said: “I was 25 years old when Buhari and Babangida were Heads of State and I am now 50 and they still want to be Head of State. I don’t understand that. I don’t understand that at all and I call on the young people of Nigeria to take their future into their hands and ensure that in the next election, they vote for a new generation of leaders.
“I think that we will not make progress until we break the link from the past and just move on. 70 per cent of Nigerians are below the age of 40. Many of these young people, the next generation, as they are called, are on internet services such as Facebook and twitter, using Blackberry and if you ask any of these people running for presidency, they will think that Blackberry is a fruit. So, we have to move away from there and stop thinking that this leadership thing is all about us or all about individuals.
We must put the future of the country at heart and give way to a new generation of leadership.” While declaring that the nation had something to celebrate for remaining united as one country despite fighting a civil war, El-Rufai, however, said there was a lot to reflect about. “As we look towards the next 50 years, I think the principal issue in Nigeria has been the failure of leadership. We have not made the progress that our human and natural resources entitled us to make and it is all because we have failed leaders,” he noted.
On the forthcoming elections, El-Rufai said the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would ensure credible elections in 2011. “I have personal confidence in Prof. Attahiru Jega. He is a man of great integrity. He is an honest man, who could not be bought at any price and for that reason, we are all hopeful that he will ensure free and fair elections,” he said.....copied. |

LaudableXX: Ok, it is people like you whose mindset has not been geared to think outside the box, that feel solutions must be dressed up in robes of vanity. I have lost count of the number of injured people and pregnant women in labour, that were rushed to our public hospitals and maternity homes in Keke Napep. Stand in front of any general hospital's emergency ward and see for yourself.
The next time any of your female relatives in the village or rural towns falls into labour, and there are no big vehicles to transport her to a hospital, please tell them to leave her right there, because even if a keke napep is available, the snail speed will not get her to a place where she can be given medical attention.
Nobody expects a keke napep engine to power electricity in a hospital. You are the one that brought up that ridiculous idea all by yourself. You are free to continue dissing tricycle. Those who have benefited from its transport services, or those who badly need any kind of moving vehicle like a keke napep ambulance, to get them to the nearest hospital, know better than to listen to the likes of you. By the way, how many ambulances have you donated to any rural hospital or public health centre, that would enable prospective patients to decline to use a keke napep? Brother I don't think I have any business with you. I pay my taxes in this lame country. The government aren't doing anything. Nothing is working including life. I am actually looking beyond hospitals keke and related facilities on grounds that are less useful. "e go better" have overtaken Nigerians sense of judgment. Kekenapepe is a public nuisance . Nigeria is 58years old endowed with crude oil in reasonable quality. Nigeria is not poor. Look at akwa ibom stadium built by one state but Nigeria as a nation hv no working national stadium. Tomorrow you will introduce kekenapepe kind of stadium. Travel oga and stop supporting evil people in government if you're not part of the government. |

srclark: we have to start from somewhere don't look at it as ambulance ambulance just look at it as a medium to get to the hospital faster due to our road network and the way naija is now yes we have money but corruption has eaten so deep not everyone has a vehicle and in most part of naija moving around after 12 midnight is a problem but if we have these keke in place and at hand then it will help even if better ambulance is provided it might not get to the masses for their usuage even when it gets to them it is just a period of time it will collaspe cause lack of maintenance we dont have to rush into doing things bit by bit bro many areas in lagos enjoy good electricity when i was actually staying in agbara we used to go weeks without the light blinking this was year 2010 (reason being it is an industrial estate and the distribution of the power was organised and done the way it should be my take on this the electricity is there the problem is the distribution and our peoples non challant attitude stronger laws should be putting in place concerning connection and climbing up poles access to Nepa property you see all sort of people going in and out of the transformers up the poles there should be a stiffer protocols to doing these things.Uganda no get road hence the heavy traffic and millions of bikes like flies perching a carcass you have google kindly find out the volume of power ugand as a whole consumes and also find out what lagos state consumes before we start going into the other states The level of my experience and exposure will not permit to accept keke as am option to modern ambulance. The world is moving fast than keke. You will get to the hospital with snail speed keke, no electricity in case of night, no water, maybe striking staffs because of no payment of salaries and wages. |

srclark: dont say what you dont know have you been to uganda ? Yes the electricity is steady in Kampala and Entebbe but for the other places i dont know ,the amount of bikes in uganda is so much (more than the people itself) when in most of our major cities bikes have been cancelled .What we need in Nigeria is security and every other thing will work please on this issue of electricity once we work on our security and we know how many we are and you are accountable for whatever you do then it will be solved you have no idea the billions of contract the federal government gives out that is not done and nobody is held responsible for it ,do you know how many rural electrification project was installed and over night the high tension is all gone what took weeks and months to instal overnight it disappears and many more stuffs like this.Another thing dont ever compare those small countries to Nigeria in terms of electricity these places you have called only have few major town in Uganda (kampala,Entebbe) Kenya(NAirobi,Nakuru,Mombasa) most of these states don't even consume as much power as Lagos does alone and we still have other states well developed but in these countries their other states are like hamlets and little villages and they go on solar so get your facts right .How Equipped can a keke be ? we are talking of easy access and transportation to the closest medical facility near these little villages you are talking of equipping the mode of transportation .They should keep buying more when the ones they have already acquired they cant maintain or is somewhere rotting away (go to the sickle cell foundation office in Idi Araba you will see over 20 brand new buses there and it has been there for years more than 5 to 6 years i think not moved just parked there ) and i believe we still have many like these in different government parastatals all over the country #SAYNOTOWASTE# the keke option is perfect for the very remote communities Nigeria is bigger than kekenapepe as ambulance. South Africa cannot think of it. Nigeria is giant of Africa and giant in crude oli as well. Keke is tricycle without solid balance. States through internally generated income can provide better option outside keke. Yes I have been to Uganda not once. Kampala and Entebbe enjoys adequate power supplies. Please name two cities in Nigeria that enjoys 72hrs uninterrupted electricity since 10hrs. Lagos state might be richer than Uganda as a country yet no power no road, nothing to show. Ghana cannot discuss kekenapepe in parliament. My village have ambulance donated by Lagos branch for the community hospital. My village cannot accept keke as ambulance gift from the government. What is keke? Habbaaaa!! |
Travel › Re: Using Keke NAPEP For Ambulance Or Police Vehicle: Is It Wrong? by emmie14: 8:20am On Jul 15, 2018 |
srclark: why people keep comparing a developing country to a developed country baffles me ,for our level and our poor road network first keke option is highly welcome and these should be distributed to each and every community ,cda or whatsoever there should be a village head or community head leave the maintenance and fueling to them ,you have no idea how many people have died just because of no access to transportation in the middle of the night on a daily basis .This keke cant be more than 500k do you know how much a toyota ambulance cost it is close to 10m naira if i am not wrong so if we have 20 of this keke distributed to 20 communities don't you think that is better,in case of any emergency access to it is easy and the patient is taken to wherever they can get help shikena ,instead of wasting it on one ultra modern ambulance that will be parked in the CMD's residence and is not ready to answer or go for any emergency calls Quipped medical centres doesn't require much. Our government have more than enough to put these in place and functional. Our presidential luxurious and extravagant living can take care and replace kekenapepe with Toyota vans or even Innosson"s brands. Nigeria is not developed to build Aso rock and likes of NNPC towers. What Nigeria need is honest and committed leadership to upgrade our general infrastructures. Does adequate and steady electricity need development? Ghana is not develop. Uganda is poor as well as under develop. Ugandans enjoys steady electricity and cannot use tricycle for ambulance yet Dongote or one of our retired Generals can finance their yearly budget. Shame to Nigeria. |

LaudableXX: Oga, please take it easy. The Keke Napep Ambulances have been modified to include a stretcher, oxygen mask and a few other medical essentials. It can carry a patient as well as one or two medical personnel/paramedics/nurses, in addition to the driver. It can be quickly used to transport pregnant women in labour, snake bite victims or injured people (who are not in a critical state) from an accident site, to the nearest medical centre or hospital for medical treatment/assistance.
In some rural areas without primary health care centres, or where expensive ambulances are not available and the roads are bad, these keke napep ambulances can quickly and safely convey people to the nearest place where they can get medical treatment. Pray to God, that you never get stuck in a remote area with an injured or critically ill person, and there are no vehicles in sight. Guy, if any keke napep ambulance comes up to you, you will quickly flag it down to carry that person to the nearest doctor! This is nonsense my guy. Am actually not part of this useless and mindless society where people reduce themselves to semi-insanity just to survive. You will also expect kekenapepe kind of engine to power electricity in the hospital. A woman in labour will be transported to hospital with snail speed and you think is normal? |

In Yankee as you observed, every emergency ambulance is more equipped than our hospitals. You need not to pay or deposit money to receive oxygen and blood . Bro keke for ambulance no work.
