I am led to share the experience staff members of federal polytechnic oko is going through. In a nut shell, since January 2016 all allowances in the Salaries of staff have been withdrawn. Incessant employment issued every day.

The anti cult unit uses every given opportunity to humiliate students. Erring students are constantly ferried to the nearest office of the Special Anti Robbery Squad where they are abused and forced to pay from 50k and above if they are interested in gaining freedom.

All sorts of payments are levied on students to pay without any receipt issued. Close confidant of the Rector who are currently enjoying their positions as heads of units, deans and directors are charging all manner of fees. example is the dean school of arts, design, fashion and printing technology that made it mandatory for every students of the school to pay #500 to her.

the director, atani campus is collecting #3000 cash on what he calls development fee. He is a rev. fr. who boast of using the money for any purposes he wishes as they were paid directly to his office in cash. he also collects SUG dues and departmental fees of students in that campus.

In terms of promotion, the management have engaged in a systematic way of depriving beneficiaries their civil service rights claiming all kinds of reasons.
This is happening at a time when the relatives of the rector, registrar and bursar have been promoted three times in the last three years and have been earning salaries as such while their contemporaries are left to mourn their loss as a result of not having blood connections.

Finally the Institution claims to be online when in the real sense everything is haphazardly organized. The Institutions portal cannot be accessed by students to make payments like school fees or admission form rather from any part of the world where a student is located, he/she will have to travel all the way down to the school to have the aforementioned done. The students result computing unit is in shambles as student data are recaptured manually after all the portal information have been uploaded during registration. Students write their exams through CBT which is bedeviling the polytechnic education. How can a student prove his mettle in a polytechnic system knowing the technical part involved and in less than 20 minutes you are expected to be through.
