I got there 28 Oct and expected to at least spend Christmas there. By first of December oga asked me "sis when are you leaving?" Note I had no where exactly to go, he said he was going offshore and didn't want to leave me behind. Well it hurt me, I counted my money and entered God is good to my base.
Well things began falling into place as I returned to base actually, and he supported me financially sometimes but my point is that he pushed me to my feet if not I may have still been his house guest till now in port Harcourt even after he is now married with two kids. I for be their nanny self as they both are traveling workers.

The greatest mistake the Nigerian state made was giving Ojukwu a state funeral, anyway it isn't surprising given the ineffectual Buffoon's political disposition at the time. Ojukwu was directly responsible for the death of millions of Nigerians. He dosen't deserve any honour
what do you mean by the greatest mistake? People like you talk as if you drank too much ogogoro.
Ojukwu came back and accepted Nigeria as a nationality or do you think it's easy to fight Yoruba, Hausa, tiv, idoma, ijaw, ogoni, Fulani, Niger Republic, UK, Chad with few biafran soldiers? And they sustained the war for good three years?

Do you know how many construction and technology that took place during the war?
That man deserves more than a state burial. What is state burial, it's rubbish.
We deserve something more than that.. So if you re so pained..

Aquariann:

No sir, I'm from the Southern part of Nigeria (I'd like to assume you are too) and I'm strongly against it and would rather things were done or positons given based on merit. But we cannot deny the fact that the present Nigerian arrangement isn't working, because even the merit system can (and would) be abused.

Take for instance, currently all service chiefs save for the CDS and CNS are from the North. The south has only two, with the south east having none.

The government of the day can safely argue they appointed qualified hands into all the positions held by Northerners. Would they be right? Yes. But does it seem fair? That no single south easterner was qualified enough for even one of those positions? No, not fair.

The quota system was meant to address situations like this when followed in sincerity. So you see, the quota system wasn't/isn't that bad to say when applied right. Hence, nothing wrong is reducing the cut off mark for the educationally disadvantaged northern kids to be encouraged and be able to have quality education like their southern brothers.

Again to show how silly the quota system can be, take the case of the super eagles team that won the last Nations cuo for Nigeria. The first (and winning) team with exception to Ahmed Musa and someone else (cant remember the name) were all from the south east. If quota system was to be applied in that team, every zone (NE, NC, NW, SS, SE,SW) should have been represented with at least two players from their zone. If a man from the SW was to be substituted he must be replaced by another SW player. It doesn't matter if one is a striker and the other a defender but the player needed at that moment was a midfielder.

So you see, this is the ugly situation we find ourselves in. My solution? Let us go back to regionalism and resource control. But before then, the people who destroyed that arrangement due to greed and selfishness must apologize to the rest of the nation and stop crying victims all the time.
if I call you pained afonja, you will claim naija delta now.

Re you expecting we the igbos should apologize on his behalf?
We don't even know if he was advised to do so. Some past dictatorship leaders practiced Unitarian system of government.
So because of that you're so pained and frustrated about the igbos. I have read about two of your comments and it end with hatred and blaming the igbos.
Guy we are the new generation of ndigbo, we're not born when aguiyi ironsi took such decisions that later favour the north but since Nigeria is not practicing true federalism hence our criticism.
Guy, if you can't move on and you keep castigating the igbo then we'll insult you back..

Politics / Re: 3 Simple Strategies That Assures An Igbo Presidency In 2023: Must Read! by emmysoftyou: 3:35pm On Apr 08, 2018
It's better to see a development in all igbo land than to have a presidency that can't guarantee development.

It's better to grow technologically than to have a leader that can't see what's happening in the east.

It's better we the igbos work hand in hand to agitate for whatever we want or need from the Nigerian president than to have a president that cannot listen to us.

There was a Yoruba president yet no development in the west apart from Lagos.

There was an ijaw president yet the people still lives in abject poverty.

There was an Hausa Fulani president yet the people re still backward, no development, they are poor like the Sri Lanka.

All these Nigerian re suffering because of what their forefathers did to biafran in Nigerian Civil War.

Now they're tired of ruling Nigerian . They want an igbo man to come and change the bad situation that's making Nigerian not to move forward.
If you want an igbo man to become the president, you must skip the likes of rochas and OUK.

We know our leaders.
Only an igbo man will take Nigerian out of doom.

much as I hate bigotry I'll like to chip in a few words.
as a growing child and into my adolescent age, I hear how most igbos tell us how beautiful and prosperous their part of Nigeria is...fast forward into my adult age and being a very adventurous person I was posted to serve in Ebonyi. I took the opportunity to tour the whole Igbo land and honestly it's not as they had made us believe!!
here on naira land I read with sadness the attacks from the igbos whenever something bad happens elsewhere and I notice their silence whenever something bad happens on their side of the divide! mostly they defend themselves by saying "something must kill someone"
well that's the world for you...
we should learn to accept everyone's weaknesses and strengths as we must interrelate as long as we live on earth.
that's my take!
people like you talk as if you're innocent.
So it's only igbo that has a blamed side. So we shouldn't reply nitwit whenever they speaks lies against us.
You served in ebonyi because you're posted in the village Abi.
You use the opportunity to travelled to other eastern states. My brother where and where did you traveled to?
I don't think you have a enough money or transport fare to travelled all around owerri, okigwe, awka, orlu.

Abeg stop acting like a fool who's so pained about the igbos..

If you dare impeach him, majority of the poor masses in the north will die in vain due to anger, violence and hatred.
Op you don't understand, tribalism is killing us.

Even the Yoruba will definitely fight the innocent igbos and accused them of Impeaching buhari.

Crime / Re: Herdsmen Attacks Community In Enugu by emmysoftyou: 8:46am On Apr 04, 2018
5Ebisco:
Tension rose high in Enugu yesterday after Fulani herdsmen attacked Okpanku community in Aniri Local Government Area of Enugu State and inflicted machete cuts on a security guard.

Daily Sun gathered that the incident, which occurred on Easter Monday, has raised the security antennae in the community as youths are preparing to go all out for reprisal attack.

According to community sources, “the Fulani herdsmen were walking pass the community with their cattle, when, suddenly, the herders entered the compound of one Eric Ogudu and started plucking mangos.

“The security guard in that compound (name withheld) tried to stop them, but they refused and in the ensuing tiff, they gave him several machete cuts on his arms and shoulder.

“The guard started shouting ‘Fulani people don kill me ooo’. Immediately the attention of the people were drawn and the villagers came and pursued them,” a source disclosed.

The herders reportedly ran into the bush.
It was further gathered that the owner of the compound, Eric, has already made a statement to the police at Aniri Divisional Headquarters in Okpanku, while a team of policemen had been deployed to the community to calm the youths, who are bent on fishing out the herdsmen who carried out the attack.
