oldienavie: Hi guys, I need experiences from people flying into Nigeria(MMIA) Lagos. My family is not going to be able to meet me at the airport this time and I am weighing up my options with transit.
I have a friend who said he knows someone that does transportation that he can come pick me up and take me to an hotel, however I am a little skeptical with that option with the high rates of insecurity in the country.
My opinion is that sometimes being annonymous to your service provider is better, but I am a little concerned with the security level of Uber in Lagos. Are uber drivers known to kidnap their clients particularly people boarding them at MMIA ? Can uber hold their drivers responsible if something untoward were to happen to their clients, or if they are known to connive with kidnappers etc ?
I just need experienced info and also from uber drivers to make a better decision.
THanks all.
Insecurity in Nigeria is over hyped. Be prepared before you board. You don't even need to book anything upfront if you don't want to. What I did was pick up random taxi at MMA. I equipped myself before boarding with stun gun, OC spray and utlmately silently recited protection verses from Quran. I kept my eyes opened and I took the cab at night. And it wasn't even within Lagos but from Lagos to other state at night. See how confident I was.
Keep your eyes open and the moment you notice the driver is about chanting strange words in order to hypnotize you, spray the pepper spray in his eyes and mouth and take over the vehicle and drive to safety.
This was all my plan. I was well equipped but fortunately the driver didn't mess up. He was a good man. I was ready for him lol
Jefax: Hi good people of nairaland Please have mercy on me I truly need your help . I am Celestine from awgu,LgA . Bros, I see your posts all the time. You stated here that you aren't getting any medical assistance at this moment?.
Bro, from the wound you displayed it is definitely treatable and you can be more independent. This is so painful to watch. You also talked about spinal cord injury but I don't know to what extent the damage is. That one actually is big issue. Honestly there is a need for you to relocate to a more wheelchair accessible or place for you to easily maneuver. You can't have someone helps you by carrying you like this everyday. This really pains me watching this. I just hope you are getting professional help for the wound on your hip?. You definitely wanna avoid infection right there.
Are any Christian organizations , pastors or good Samaritan involved in your life financially to help you medically?. Right now it is like you live on the hilltop. This is not good for your independence especially with this bad roadways around you.
leksite120: Why do nairaland reeks so much of ignorance? Every minute, we hear crime news from everywhere on this forum mostly from the South and christians but no one has ever linked it with religion. Just look at all the comments up there.
It's a fair thing to be religious, but it'll be better if one knows when to be rational and sensible.
it shows you ridiculous level of education system in Nigeria is. Quality education is zero in Nigeria. That's why those comments above have no substance. Yet they present themselves as educated people. They don't think
movado19: No, she doesn't have any physical kids, and she never mentioned having kids in his realm either.
then this is absolutely possible. But in this case, all these jinn that cross their boundaries in my opinion are kufar because by Allaah's Order they not supposed to interfere with human like this.. By having affairs with humans in this sense seems to be in violation of Divine Order
movado19: To somewhat buttress on this phenomenon/point: I personally know of a lady who never goes broke because of the jinn husband. He provides her with money whenever she's broke. He promised to be there for her every wants and needs, provided she doesn't "cheat" on him by marrying a human man, but later down the line, he modified it to be that: she can date other men but no marriage. then to she can marry but he will always have to partake in their sexual intercourse! She is very aware of his presence in her life and is not afraid because according to her, he has been in her family for a very long time and he takes care of her wants and needs!
Family members who tried ruqyah on her some time back were seriously dealt with by this her "husband".
As of now, she said she's not interested in letting him go because he provides all she wants/needs! She does date human men but within her, she knows it is heading nowhere!
wow. Subhanallah.
In as much she's not interested in marriage with human man I think there is little family can do. She had physical kids?.
Sheikh Isa Akin dele narrated his experience during Ruqya on a lady who has not given birth but she already looks like "adelebo". During Ruqya, a male Jinn inside her claimed the lady is his wife and that she already has 4 kids for him. While Sheikh is talking to the Jinn the lady's breast started shaking up and down. Sheikh asked what's that?. Jinn said her babies are breastfeeding that's why her breast dropped like adelebo. Sheikh Akindele said this is a new experience for him.
But the clause here is that the babies are Jinn. Their "mother" doesn't see them. That's, she doesn't have kids physically in this planet earth. The reason she came for Ruqya was because men picked her and dumped her. Obviously this is due to the Jinn (oko oru). This is why I'm not sure of Balkis being half human/Jinn.
ISLAM IS NOT ARABIC AND ARABIC IS NOT ISLAM. - We respect Arabic as the original language of the Holy Quran and the language of our Prophet Mohammad /PBUH) .
THE FACTS YOU KNEW NOT.
There are more Christians in Palestine than Israel. Their vernacular is Arabic.
There are more Israelis who are Muslims than those who are Christians.
The population of Palestine is 12 million. 7 percent [approximately 840,000 of them] are Christians.
In contrast, Israel population is 8.5million. Only 2 percent of Israelis, [approximately 171,000] are Christians while 17.5 percent of Israelis, [approximately 1.5m], are Muslims.
Now let me further break it down. Most of the 840,000 Palestinian Christians speak Arabic as their vernacular. Most don't speak or understand English.
Their Holy Bible is written in Arabic language.
In the Arabic Bible, God is called Allah. That is how God is called in Arabic language. Same way the Yoruba Bible calls God "Olorun."
If they want to say "God is great", they also say "Allah Akbar."
If they want to say "Glory to God" they say "Alhamdulilahi."
Their preachers preach to them every Sunday in their churches in their vernacular, which is Arabic. Just like the Catholic Pope preaches in Latin. Sunday services in many parts of Egypt too are conducted in Arabic because that is their native language.
Don't let the fear mongers continue to spread fear and sow discord among us.
Those saddled with the task of uniting us have become instruments of division.
Arabic is not Islam and Islam is not Arabic. One is a language, the other is a religion.
Arabic is a language like English, like French, like German, like Spanish, like Hindi, like Yoruba, Hausa and Ibo. It is not a religion.
So if you like another man's English language and claim to hate another man's Arabic language because most Muslims speak Arabic, my friend, you are simply a slave of accidental civilization. COPIED!
movado19: That's on page 30 of this thread, I believe:
I was carried away for few mins staring at my screen when I was page 145 (last page) with ikupakuti's comment but showing 2017 and the last comment (showing recent post). Took me a while to figure out it is attachment. I thought ikupakuti returned to leave the comment lol
I am looking for Ikupakuti's post where he talked about Balkis (wife of nabi Sulaimon) being half human/half Jinn. This alfa seems to disagree with that but upon listening to him further it looks like they are actually saying the same thing.
Empiree: PERMISSIBILITY OF SENDING ANY SALAWAT UPON HOLY PROPHET( SAW).
A friend wrote this and I think it is very important for every student who always seeks knowledge with references. I enjoin you all to read this research work with a sincere and critical mind.
OTHER SALAWAAT ASIDE IBRAHIMIYYAH, ANYTHING WRONG?
.BismiLahir Rahmaanir Raheem.
" ﺇﻧﻤﺎ ﺍﻷﻋﻤﺎﻝ ﺑﺎﻟﻨﻴﺎﺕ ﻭﺇﻧﻤﺎ ﻟﻜﻞ ﺍﻣﺮﺉ ﻣﺎ ﻧﻮﻯ "
My argument on ACCEPTANCE OF ANY SALAAH (Sala ala nabiy) in Islaam is not in favour of anyone or group. I hope this is clear to those who have read my past commentaries. All I have said was not an ordinary wordcraft of mine, but the sayings of Salaf Scholars of which no one can ever beat down their views except by vibrant calls of knowledge. In Islaam , Allah has blessed us with Scholars - 'Ulamaa' who have knowledge of what Allaah says and what His prophet says. Alhamdullaahi, they are practising it. We derive this wisdom from the hadeeth. Prophet gave us a hint on this Rahmat so that we will know that we can gain from their scholarly stated words and their views are welcomed in this deen.
"...the best knower of Halaal and Haram on my umma is Mu'aaz bn Jabal, & The best reciter of Al-Qur'an is Ubayy bn Ka'b, & the best knower of Law of inheritance is Zaydu...." Does the case of Mu'aaz in the hadeeth mean we follow him in Haram and halaal?? So, know that you can't be self-dependant in the knowledge of this deen and we can emulate scholars in their GOOD sayings and deeds. If not, we don't need Tafseer; we dont need Hadeeth explanatory books. What is ﺇﺟﻤﺎﻉ meant for?
The Issue Asalatu for the prophet by other expression is a subject matterof Ibaadat in jurisprudence ( way of worship) not 'aqeedat ( Islamic ideaology). By this, you can never say that any other asalatu , except Ibrahimiyyat is a way to hell. For (by that statement ) you have legislated without a single verse from any of shari'ah source and that is a great sin.
Allaah says:
"And, for your tongues describe, do not utter lie, (saying) This is lawful and this is unlawful, in order to forge a lie against Allah; surely those who forge the lie against Allah shall not prosper" {AN-NAHAL 116}.
Many people claim that Asalatu by other expression was alien to any of Sohabat or Ulamaa because none of them in the best 3 centuries did so. I will just urge us all generally (including me) that before we can say anything in Islam , we need some apparatus in knowledge. The worse part is that : we dont have it yet, we just deny the sayings of those who have it such as our scholars that I quoted ever before.
Imama Shaafi'ee (Died 204 AH), in his book Ar-Risaalat, Page 90 {Daarul Aqeedat publisher} writes :
This is neither Solatul faatih nor Ibrahimiyyat. Is Imam Shaafi'ee not a salaf? Is he not in the first 3 centuries? Does that mean he will go to hell? Has that meant he didn't follow the prophet?
LadunaI: Lol... I was trying to annotate the way she did, because am not used to it. and I was experimenting it with difference font sizesk not knowing I am spamming the thread big time. I was thinking I was just modifying a single post. It's very annoying seeing it later.
Is there way to delete those posts?
yes. You just highlight all the texts and delete them. But type dots ....., Emojis or any phrases before you click on submit button. Otherwise you may have trouble getting it done
saphiere: The wages of sin is death. It cost us nothing to remain faithful to our partners.
Since I don't support infidelity, no R.I.P for him. I would say same. I, Sarah, is not a party to infidelity.
If any male member of my family cheats, may death be his portion. Same goes to every male member of every Nigerian family. I pray you don't go through what I have gone through in the hands of men. I would've been a graduate in 2019 First of all, this forum does not hide my identity. Few members of this forum have met me in person. About three of them. My pictures were all over this forum during that lockdown season.
Lastly, I don't hate men. I only dislike their behaviours towards women.
So you supported her behavior yet you would condemn TaL!ban for executing adulterers. For God's sake, why are Nigerian so hypocritical especially Christians?. If a Muslim country punishes fornicators or adulterers you guys would up in the air on NL as if you care so much about the "victims". But here you are jubilating bcus a wife murdered her husband over infidelity?
Sirheny007: You boarded a flight from Abuja to Lagos and you want to bring down Nairaland.
What should people like us - who have accumulated up to 700hrs on air to and fro Europe - do then?
Abeg, leave him a lone. At some point you were first timer too. I enjoyed his experience and I laughed . His quick experience made my day. So please step aside.
Tell the tolerating story to your Muslim jihadists brethren killing christians now in southern kaduna, benue, jos
I'm done arguing.. This is exactly what they intended with this new exposition i:e religious argument and fight back and forth and we get distracted. I'm off
Nadaken: you have not said anything by showing me your WhatsApp message you wrote to yourself
What am seeing there is all prayers and not physical call for destruction
If God answers should you blame them or God
They aren't killing for their God like jihadists
Vado: This not only foolish, it is devoid of any bit of intellect. Making up WhatsApp messages just to proof a silly point. Rubbish. Bring a proof that he said those things or shut up. After all, well Pantami was fingered as a terrorist apologist, David Hudeyin brought out receipts with sermons on tape. You lots said Pantami’s a 30+ man at that like was just exhibiting exuberance. Evil sons of a rabid ideology.
don't be lazy. Visit my profile for details.
And what type of "prayers" is that?. Did Jesus say such prayers?. Until we start to tolerate ourselves in this country nothing is gonna get better.
Of what benefit is this to average people in the state?. What sort of thinking faculty is this?. This will create unnecessary crowd and traffic.
Can we just pause for a second in this country and stop the construction of mosques and churches?. It is getting very annoying with houses of worship everywhere without iklas.
I'm getting sick of this. For God's sake build factories. Create jobs and let people feed their family. Enough of churches and mosques
peteregwu: Oga, these guys support the evil. Don't mind them. If you know how much they hate Christians with passion, you will run far from them. They are the antichrist the bible spoke about if yoh don't know, know it kow oooo. They are evil..evil is what they eat and sleep with. Tuee.... Awon omo antichrist ni won
There plan is keep preaching unity and peace and indirectly in secret they carry out their grand plan to wipe out Christians.
I will love to see when David Hundeyin would do his investigative journalism on Christian manifesto. It seems you are not aware of Christians plan in Nigeria with the help of international community?.
They were/are ready to wipe out Islam in Nigeria. If you need the manifesto visit my profile for their plan. However, there are fallacy in David's write up as well as detailed truth especially with regards to not allowing Christian to rule Nigeria. I am aware of this fact. In the article though, some facts are there that can't be denied. And that's is where Gumi's father during Sheikh Adam era, he said Christians will not be allowed to be ruler in Nigeria and Sheikh Adam tackled him those days and shut him up. This story was narrated by Sheikh Habeeb this past Ramadan.
But you are here saying Muslims are intolerant and this and that but Sheikh Adam (ra) fought for the Christians to be president in Nigeria. Then what happened?. Wasnt Obj, a christian the first democratically elected president since 1999?. I voted for him based on ethnicity but the man messed up by bringing up Christianity agenda.
So please endeavor to read Christian manifesto about their plans to end Islam in Nigeria but they failed. However they are still pursuing the agenda. This is why they don't want to see Muslims in high positions in the south West.
