2 UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Total Nuclear Missiles – 6970

United States is the most powerful country in the world with the highest number of deployed warheads. USA has 2080 deployed warheads within the country as well as in other continents/countries. There are 5180 other warheads which are either tactical nuclear warheads or non-deployed strategic warheads. USA also has more number of ICBMs and SLBMs than Russia with a count of 785 missiles.

1 RUSSIA

Total Nuclear Missiles – 7300

Russia had 45000 nuclear warheads at one point of time due to the nuclear race and to balance the competitions from the west. Now, currently Russia has dismantled and cut short the number of nuclear missiles to around 7500. Out of this 1780 are active warheads and the rest are other warheads that are either in reserve or in the stages of dismantling. Russia is known to have 515 intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs), strategic bombers and submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBMs). There are thousands of non-deployed strategic warheads in Russia.

6 PAKISTAN
Total Nuclear Missiles – 120

Pakistan is a non NPT signatory who is in race with India to possess more number of nuclear missiles and warheads. Pakistan’s nuclear programme was led by Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto in 1972 in response to the developments on nuclear research and weapons from its neighbor India. Bhutto fast tracked the nuclear research programme after India’s surprise nuclear test code-named the Smiling Buddha in 1974. Finally in 1998 after India’s second successful nuclear test, Pakistan detonated five nuclear devices in Ras Koh Hills in the Chagai district. This operation was code-named Chagai-I. Today, Pakistan has many nuclear missiles in its military reserve.

5 UNITED KINGDOM

Total Nuclear Missiles – 215

During the 1970s British government had a stock pile of 520 nuclear warheads. Today, half of those are put to rest and they possess 215 nuclear missiles. UK is the third country to test a nuclear bomb in 1952. England is one of the five from the NPT states. UK has kept the size of its nuclear arsenal a top-secret and officially they have 150 active warheads. Historically, UK has conducted about 45 nuclear tests. Today, UK is considered as a powerful country in terms of its nuclear capabilities and number of possessed warheads.

4 CHINA
Total Nuclear Missiles – 260

China is an emerging superpower economically as well as in terms of defense strengths. China has also emerged as a great power in the nuclear arms race. They are one of the oldest nations in the world to possess weapons of mass destruction. They performed the first nuclear test in 1964. The number of actual warheads with China is still unknown and is a state secret. There are reports that suggest that China could have as many as 3000 warheads. Officially, China has 260 warheads and those are not deployed. China has a strict policy of “no-first-use”, meaning they would attack only if they are attacked by a nuclear weapon on them. There are also reports that suggest China would double its nuclear power to beat USA by 2020.

3 FRANCE

Total Nuclear Missiles-300

France is a country with constant attacks from the hands of terrorists and this country needs more protection than other European counterparts. France has 290 deployed warheads and 10 other warheads. France is the third largest nuclear-weapon state with a stock-pile of 300 nuclear warheads. France has the capability to strike with a nuclear weapon from air, sea or land – that is called as the triad strike. France is known to have deactivated all its land-based nuclear missiles. In 1996, France conducted its last nuclear test before joining Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT).

Foreign Affairs / 10 Countries With The Most Number Of Nuclear Missiles-listamaze.com by EncephalonPikin(m): 2:23am On Feb 13, 2017
The World has become a deadly place to live in with countries possessing deadly weapons and weapons of mass destruction like the atom bombs and nuclear bombs. Currently there are enough nuclear weapons in the world to destroy the earth easily. The impact of the largest and most powerful nuclear bomb ever designed – Tsar Bomba, would have a fireball radius of 3 km, radiation radius of close to 8 km, the air-blast radius can range from 12 to 30 km. This means, if the bomb were to be dropped can easily kill all living organisms for 30 km. It is highly impossible to imagine the impact of a World War III.

There are currently 5 countries that are recognized as nuclear weapon states, who have signed the NPT or Non-Proliferation Treaty to abide by its three pillars namely non-proliferation, disarmament, and the right to peacefully use nuclear technology. These five countries are USA, Russia, China, France, and United Kingdom. USA and Russia together possess the world’s 80% of the nuclear weapons. China on the other hand is believed to possess large amount of nuclear weapons, which are not disclosed to the world. India, Pakistan, Israel, and South Sudan are the four countries in the world to have not signed the NPT. North Korea withdrew from the NPT program. South Africa, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan previously possessed nuclear weapons and later transferred all of those to Russia and joined NPT. By 1998, Cuba was the only non-nuclear country to have not signed the NPT and in 2002 Cuba also joined NPT.

10 IRAN
Total Nuclear Missiles-NA
Iran is a new addition to the list of countries that could possibly be possessing nuclear weapons and missiles. U.S. intelligence agency has already predicted that Iran could be possessing key ingredients to nuclear weapons. Their strength and the number of nuclear weapons and missiles are still unclear.

9 NORTH KOREA
Total Nuclear Weapons-8

North Korea was previously a signatory of NPT and later withdrew from it in 2003. In 2009, North Korea declared that it has developed a nuclear weapon and they had conducted their first nuclear test in 2006 sparking protests from NPT countries. Again in 2007, North Korea confirmed that they have nuclear weapons. In 2009, they conducted their second successful test making the country “full-fledged nuclear power”. In 2013, North Korea is believed to have conducted their third nuclear test underground. Currently, they have small and mid-range nuclear missiles inducted into their armed forces.

8 ISRAEL
Total Nuclear Weapons-80

Israel is a country with aggressive and unfriendly neighborhood. Israel definitely needed its defense systems to be capable enough to counter any attacks on its soil. Though, Israel is known to possess huge amounts of nuclear missiles and weapons that might range from 80 to 400, but officially has 80 warheads in its nuclear arsenal. There are no evidence of date or record of its first nuclear test. Israel possesses a wide array of nuclear weapons ranging from Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles to submarine launched cruise missiles

7 INDIA
Total Nuclear Missiles-100

India is also a non-signatory of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty like Pakistan. India started its nuclear research programme in 1967. India made its first surprise nuclear test in 1974 followed by the second test in 1998. India hasn’t officially declared or made any comments regarding the size of the nuclear arsenal it possesses. India has a strict “no-first-use” policy in place and would use the weapons only for retaliation purpose. India has already developed wide ranges of indigenous missiles such as the Agni and Prithvi series

Foreign Affairs / "Romania Protests Continue Over Plans To Revive Corruption Bill" by EncephalonPikin(m): 7:37pm On Feb 06, 2017
(CNN) — Demonstrations are expected to continue in Romania today despite a temporary government retreat over a bill that would have protected many politicians from being prosecuted for corruption.
On Sunday -- when an estimated half a million protesters took to the streets -- a government statement was issued repealing the decree, which had been approved Tuesday without input from the country's parliament.
This did little to stem anger as Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu still appears determined to push through the amendments to the criminal codes. He has asked the country's justice minister, Florin Iordache, to prepare a draft law which is similar to the controversial decree. The proposed legislation will be sent to parliament for approval following public consultation.

In a statement reported by the Romanian national news agency,
Agerpres, Monday, Iordache said: "We will develop and post a regulatory act. Before we move further, all experts and whoever wants to, will have the opportunity to express a point of view."
'Government should resign'
Businessman Cosmin Alexandru, 47, has participated in the protests over the past six days, which have been the largest demonstrations Romania has seen for decades.
He told CNN Monday: "The ordinance has been withdrawn but has now been introduced almost unchanged into the parliamentary process. They did not withdraw it because they considered it wrong but because of the pressure."
"The only reasonable outcome for me is the government resigning and either put a better government in place or call an election," he added.
He expects, however, that the draft law will eventually be passed.

The original decree, which would have taken effect in about a week, decriminalized corruption that causes damage worth less than about 200,000 Romanian lei, or $48,000.
The new draft law, while similar to the controversial decree, does eliminate the section that decriminalized damage worth less than 200,000 lei.
Meanwhile a separate item of legislation, which is currently being considered by the Romanian parliament, would -- if approved -- free some officials imprisoned for corruption, halt all investigations for pending corruption offenses and prevent further cases related to these offenses from being brought to justice.
This would benefit politicians such as Liviu Dragnea, president of the Social Democrat Party, which recently took power. Dragnea is under investigation over abuse of power allegations and had also previously received a two-year suspended sentence for an elections offense.
Half a million protesters
Local television stations reported that protests across Romania attracted 500,000 to 600,000 people -- with at least half of them gathering in Victory Square, Bucharest. However, the Romanian interior ministry declined to provide any official figures when contacted by CNN.
There were smaller protests by Romanians in other capital cities around Europe including London on Sunday, where 500 people gathered outside the Romanian Cultural Institute.
Demonstrators Răzvan and Diana Ungureanu, a young couple with two children, were among those who gathered in Bucharest.
Diana told CNN: "We won't give up. We don't trust them (the government) anymore so they have to leave."
Her husband added: "It feels like we can't go home anymore because you're afraid they're going to do something else overnight and we don't want such surprises."
Adriana Cristea, a young mother of a nine-month-old baby, said: "I left my newborn home with my husband and I came here to protest. I will do that again and again as much as needed."
"I don't want lies and this is why I am here. We want honest people in all public institutions. No more corruption, at all," she added.
More demonstrations likely
Another demonstration is expected in Bucharest Monday evening amid calls for the resignation of the ruling coalition government led by Grindeanu.
Protester Daniel Iordan, a father of two, told CNN Sunday: "This government has to leave. We don't believe anything they say any more."
The opposition has already submitted a censure motion in parliament in order to remove the justice minister from office. This is slated for debate on Wednesday but is not expected to succeed, as the coalition -- made up of the center-left Social Democratic Party and a smaller party -- holds a majority in the Parliament

happyday:

Admission + Full funding? Bro, I think that's cutting it too close. If you're interested in studying in the US, then it has to be both ways. Schools in US should also be interested in having you on the next cohort of freshmen. In top schools, to get admission is even neck-breakingly competitive; and so you don't get deceived by US News rankings, US schools have standards, and International students are generally at a disadvantage.

If you apply, assume you'd be competing with top students from decent high schools all over the world, and that you need to identify what can make you truly stand out. That GPA doesn't stand out. If you take the SAT, and score very highly, you might be outstanding though. Also, if you've done something truly remarkable, and achieved considerable success, such that people see it as something hard to do or coy, then you also stand a chance to be considered.

Those are the most obvious ways, in my opinion, of getting admission + full funding.

Thanks a lot you've helped me set my priorities right!

LagosismyHome:

If you are looking for full funding , the first place to start is taking the SAT and Toefl and not just taking it but reading very well for it and scoring high .......... Its only after you have your SAT scores that you can truly assess what your funding opportunities are (blc your WAEC GPA is quite low for full funding) . ......a lot are based on your SAT scores.

would I use my waec GPA or my normal sec. school GPA.... some schools used both or one so really depends on each school requirement. A lot will use mainly WAEC

Thanks a lot ma

searchiing4love:
What these people fail to realize is the shame and ridicule the biafra movement has become ever since Nnamdi kanu was discovered to be a fraud and arrested by the Nigerian government. Right to self determination is a treasonable offense against the Nigerian state because it's not captured in our Constitution. It is totally illegal for any region or group of people to demand seccession from Nigeria. The penalty would have been death if we were in a military regime. The Indian government recently opened fire on secessionist in the Kashmir region of India just to serve as a deterrent to future agitators. Despite having a referendum, Scotland chose to remain in the UK cos they for-saw their impending doom if they decide to leave. The Spanish government have disregarded several calls for catalonia to break away from spain. Russia recently annexed crimea from Ukraine after the crimeans got tired of life outside the soviet Union. The people of South Sudan are regretting their decision to leave Sudan till today and yet the Igbo's are hell bent on having biafra despite all the glaring indices of an impending failure if biafra is ever achieved. No country in the world wants a break away of its territory. Even the United States that preaches freedom disregarded Texas's call for seccession. The reason for seccession of the Igbo's has not been clearly defined. The fruitless agitations is fuelled by hate and jealousy of other region's political stability and doggedness. Their political miscalculations in the last elections gave birth to the recent biafra calls headed by the disgruntled element called Nnamdi kanu who was feeding fat on the Biafran sentiment before been apprehended. The British saw a potential in our diversity before merging us together as a united Nigeria and every sane mind believes the future of the Igbo's lie in nigeria. What we need is a united south and we will wrestle political power away from Northern monopoly who sees power as their birth right. Will the Igbo's ever work with bourdillon to achieve a united south? Time will tell. Say no to biafra, God bless Nigeria sad
