Please I Need Advice on an AliExpress Return & Refund Dispute

I need some advice regarding an AliExpress dispute because I'm not sure what to do next.

I bought a replacement phone screen on AliExpress. When it arrived, I connected it to test it, and it worked normally, so I went ahead and installed it permanently on my phone. However, after about two or three days of use, the screen started developing faults. It began flickering, showing display issues, and eventually became unusable.

I opened a dispute on AliExpress and explained that the screen was defective. The seller initially offered me a partial refund without returning the item, but I declined because I paid for a fully functional screen and didn't think it was fair to lose part of my money for receiving a defective product.

After that, the seller insisted that I remove the screen and return it for a full refund. I explained several times that removing a fully installed screen is risky because phone screens are attached with strong adhesive. Trying to remove it can easily crack or damage the screen, even if you're careful.

Despite my explanation, AliExpress stepped in and ruled that I must return the screen before I can get a refund. The dispute page no longer gives me any option to explain my situation—it only asks me to upload a tracking number after returning the item.

My concerns are:

- The screen may get damaged while removing it, and the seller could refuse the refund because it is damaged.
- International return shipping from Nigeria to China is very expensive.
- I paid for a working screen, but the product turned out to be defective after installation.

Has anyone experienced a similar situation with AliExpress? Is there any way to get AliExpress to review or change the decision at this stage? Has anyone successfully convinced them to issue a refund without requiring a return?

I'd really appreciate any advice or suggestions from people who have gone through something similar.

Yes. Most official phone stores no longer ship to Nigeria Been buying Xiaomi phones on AliExpress since 2016 now none of the big stores that sell them ship to Nigeria. Bought Xiaomi tabs from 2 stores late last year and none of those stores now ship to Nigeria. Ordered for an Anker Speaker from Euty store in March and had to request for a refund after the buyer protection expiration. They have since also stopped shipping to Nigeria.

It's a sad development and many more stores will sadly join as refunds keeps pilling up.

Make una help me o! Does anyone knows which logistics partner is this that AliExpress assigned me like this so? It’s a choice item and other items have been assigned to SpeedAf only this was given another tracking number.

How does one explain a scenario where an item arrived their "DC-Lagos" on Wednesday 17/06 but as at the evening of Friday 19/06 (even as I type this), the item is yet to dispatch to their office in owner's location within the same state, considering the fact that the possibility of getting the item delivered on weekend is not certain? My experience with Speedaf right now!

Parcel arrived destination in less than 2 weeks, cleared customs in 48 hours, but Speedaf intends to add extral days (at least 7 days now) to prolong its delivery timeline. Too bad!!!

At this point I think starting up a post on twitter detailing NIPOST's malfeasance and having everyone comment on it with their experience may be the way to go. I did a quick search on twitter and it's amazing how many people have experiencing the same thing.

With everyone commenting and tagging the director of NIPOST it may just go viral and garner the needed attention.

At this point it is no longer advisable to order from AliExpress items that will be delivered through nipost especially if you are ordering gadgets like phones and tablets unless they are sold under 'choice items', which may be delivered via Speedaf.

My items since October/November last year are still with Nipost and each time I call them, they tell me it hasn't arrived whereas the tracking says it's with them.

Mine is even with them and they've confirmed it's at their Exchange office in Lagos. But for some reason I'm yet to receive it and subsequent mails doesn't get answers from them.

Trying to figure out where their exchange office is so I may just consider going there.

Items via Malaysia Post are not being shipped out to 9ja again for about 2 months now. AliExpress seems not to be doing anything about it either

My experience with UBA wasn't that long. It took about 5 days hence the reason I specifically asked someone with experience with Access Bank.

Hello. Did you finally get your refund from Access? If yes how long did it take and did you need to reach out to them to process it.

I have a similar case and want to know how to proceed. There are 3 refunds and only one of them have a ARN, the other 2 though successful didn't. None has been received and it's been almost a week since the refund was processed.

Since the seller is open for communication: tell them that if they can convince their logistics provider to ship the phone with SPEEDAF courier. The phone will arrive with 100% guarantee in record time. That delivery issues to Nigeria is limited to the wrong choice of using Postal Service instead of the proven shipping option. Convince him further that if they ship via Speedaf and it has issues, that you will not press for refund in a way to proof that you are very certain of your position.
I believe they will change their mind when they hear this from you.

Lol, detained by customs is euphemism for stolen in Nigeria. Too many thieves in the system. AliExpress will eventually shun Nigeria.
Temu clears their goods within twenty four hours,in fact my last parcel was cleared in ten hours.reducing the opportunity for thievery. AliExpress would have to do the same.
