Health / Infertility In Men And Women- A Holistic View by Engineer11985(m): 12:28pm On Apr 03, 2018
Infertility is the inability of couples to conceive after engaging in an unprotected sex. It may not be best to describe a case as infertility until it clocks 12 months.

Infertility may be due to a single cause in either a man or a woman or a combination of factors that may prevent a pregnancy from occurring or continuing.

Fortunately, there are many safe and effective therapies for treating infertility. These treatments significantly improve the chances of becoming pregnant.

To become pregnant, the complex processes of ovulation and fertilization need to work.

Infertility can be present from birth (congenital) or something can go wrong

Infertility can involve on or both partners in general.

Note:

In about one-third of cases, the cause of infertility involves only the male

In about one- third of cases, the cause of infertility involves only the female

In the remaining cases, the cause of infertility involves both the male and the female or no cause can be identified.

Causes of female infertility

Ovulation disorder– This is a usual culprit. Tracking ovulation calender and the non presence of ovulation allegedly, puts a woman at risk of being infertile. The woman’s ovaries stop working before she is 40.

PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) – the woman’s ovaries function abnormally. She also has abnormally high levels of androgen.

Poor egg quality – eggs that are damaged or develop genetic abnormalities cannot sustain a pregnancy. The older a woman is the higher the risk.

Submucosal fibroids – benign or non-cancerous tumors found in the muscular wall of the uterus, occurring in 30% to 40% of women of childbearing age. They may interfere with implantation. They can also block the fallopian tube, preventing sperm from fertilizing the egg. Large submucosal uterine fibroids may make the uterus’ cavity bigger, increasing the distance the sperm has to travel.

Fallopian tube damage or blockage

Thyroid problems

Endometriosis – cells that are normally found within the lining of the uterus start growing elsewhere in the body.

Previous sterilization treatment – if a woman chose to have her fallopian tubes blocked. It is possible to reverse this process, but the chances of becoming fertile again are not high

Causes of male infertility

Abnormal sperm production or functions such as health problems like diabetes can hinder conception from taken place.

Prior surgeries on the testicles-

Ejaculation disorders – for some men it may be difficult to ejaculate properly. Men with retrograde ejaculation ejaculate semen into the bladder. If the ejaculatory ducts are blocked or obstructed the man may have a problem ejaculating appropriately.

Testicular infection from hotness- Hot tubs, very hot baths, or working in extremely hot environments can raise the temperature of the testicles. Tight clothing may have the same effect on some people.

Problems with the delivery of sperm- when the quality of semen released is not healthy enough to fertilise an egg, the tendency conception will take place is minimal.

Low sperm count (low concentration) – the man ejaculates a lower number of sperm. Sperm concentration should be 20 million sperm per milliliter of semen. If the count is under 10 million there is a low sperm concentration (subfertility).

No sperm – when the man ejaculates there is no sperm in the semen.

Low sperm mobility (motility) – the sperm cannot “swim” as well as it should.

Abnormal sperm – perhaps the sperm has an unusual shape, making it more difficult to move and fertilize an egg.

Damage related to cancer and its treatment.

Genetic abnormality- X and Y chromosome is present in everyman. If he has two X chromosomes and one Y chromosome (Klinefelter’s syndrome) there will be an abnormal development of the testicles, low testosterone, and a low sperm count (sometimes no sperm at all).

Autos / Tips On How To Get A Good Car Insurance Today by Engineer11985(m): 11:28am On Apr 01, 2018
Car insurance is one of the important things in life today. To get car insurance, you will be expected to pay a substantial amount of money each month to the insurance company, and if you are like most people, you have not had an accident or made a claim in years. But when you do suddenly find yourself involved in a collision, the insurance premiums you’ve been forking over all these years will finally pay off.

The introduction of internet into the insurance industry has raised the level of competition between insurance companies. This is because you can now sit at the comfort of your home in your bathrobe and compare rates and coverage between companies, they are under more pressure to offer competitive deals. So why not leverage the Internet’s potential to help you save time, save money, and find the best auto insurance coverage?

First, let’s be clear about the fact that auto insurance is required by law in most states―it’s not optional. If you drive a car, you must have auto insurance. So you need to find out what the law requires in your jurisdiction when it comes to how much auto insurance coverage you need to maintain. Print out your state’s requirements, and save that information for the next step in the process.

What Influences Insurance Rates?

Since insurance prices are dependent on statistics, the price each of us pays varies wildly. Things like the driver’s age, years of driving experience, what neighborhood the car is usually parked in overnight, the make and model of the car, what kind of safety features the car has, and whether or not you have antitheft devices installed―all of these variables will determine the price you’ll pay for the particular level of coverage you choose.

Before you get too far into shopping for insurance, you might want to order a copy of your driving record. In much the same way that your credit rating determines what kind of interest rate you’ll get when you are applying for financing, your driving record will influence your insurance rate.

When you get your driving record, take a look at it to make sure that it is current and accurate. You would not want an error on your driving record to keep you from getting the best rate possible.

What Coverage Do You Need?

Your state sets forth the minimum liability coverage you must maintain, as mentioned above. But these are just the legal minimums and might not give you the coverage you need. You’ll have to decide what you want to buy beyond these minimums. Keep in mind that you are looking to find the balance between having adequate coverage and overpaying.

According to reports from insurance customers, a general guideline for adequate bodily injury liability limits is $100,000 per person and $300,000 per accident, plus $100,000 for property damage. These amounts are what your insurer will pay to someone you are in an accident with. For uninsured motorist coverage, you should get the same amount as for bodily injury liability, as this covers your medical costs when someone who is not insured hits you.

Other Types of Coverage

You can always supplement your policy with specific protections (for a higher premium, of course). For example, many motorists get comprehensive and collision coverage. Comprehensive pays out when your car is damaged or lost due to causes other than an accident, such as vandalism, theft, or weather. Collision coverage will pay to repair your own car if you hit something.

These options typically come with your choice of deductible, usually $250 to $1,000. This is the amount you pay out of pocket before your insurance kicks in; the higher the deductible, the lower the premium you’ll pay for this type of coverage.

Additional options include rental reimbursement coverage, which pays for a rental car while your car is in the shop being repaired. Roadside assistance coverage will pay to have your vehicle towed. Keep in mind that if you already have an auto club membership, you do not need this additional coverage.

How to Get the Best Rate

The National Association of Insurance Commissioners(NAIC) recommends that you ask your potential insurer about the following discounts:

Good driving record: Many auto insurers offer discounts to drivers who have not made a claim, haven’t been in an accident, or haven’t received a traffic ticket in three years.
Good grades: Young drivers can get discounts for maintaining a B average or better in school.
Driver’s education: Some insurance companies offer a discount for drivers who complete a driver’s education or driver’s safety course.
Multiple policies: Some insurance companies offer discounts if you have two or more policies with them.
Safety equipment: Equipment such as antilock brakes and antitheft devices can get you a discount.
Longtime policy holder: If you have kept your policy with an insurer for several years, ask about a discounted premium.
Higher deductibles: A higher deductible usually means lower premiums.

Gather Quotes

Once you know what kind of coverage your state requires, you will need the following information in front of you in order to get an accurate quote for auto insurance:

The age and gender of the driver(s), the number of drivers in your household, and their driver’s license numbers.
A description of your car: the make, model, year, and vehicle identification number (VIN).
The type of coverage and limits you want.
Where you park your car overnight.

Check References

Now that you have a few comparable quotes and you know which company offers the lowest price for the policy you want, you still need to check out the company itself to find out whether it’s reliable.

You can check with your state’s department of insurance, which should allow you to compare premiums for insurance companies in your state. You can also check on the financial stability of a company and look up the number of consumer complaints it has accumulated. Take a look at Weiss Ratings to get an independent rating of the companies you are considering. J.D. Power and Associates also offers useful consumer reviews of auto insurance companies.

Review Your Policy

Before you sign, be sure to carefully review your new policy to make sure it includes all the coverage you want. Your policy will need to comply with your state’s legal requirements as well as any additional requirements of the company that finances your auto loan.

Autos / How To Donate A Car To Charity In California by Engineer11985(m): 11:17am On Apr 01, 2018
Do you have a car you are not using and you want to donate it in California? If so, good for you! Donating a car to charity is a very good decision on many levels. First of all, your donation goes to help a great cause. Plus, you get your old vehicle or junk car moved off of your property free of charge. You are also recycling an old vehicle, and you also get to claim the car donation as a tax deduction. So if you have a car that’s taking your space, why not think of donating it to Charity!
In this post I will provide you with tips on how to donate a car in California and some specific requirements you should be aware of that relate to California car donations. If you follow these steps I can assure you that you will be able to donate a car to charity in California

To donate a car in California, you begin by submitting an online car donation form or calling the charity you wish donate your vehicle to. If you wish to claim the car donation as a tax deduction, be sure to check that the charity is an IRS recognized nonprofit organization.
The process for receiving the tax receipt for your charitable donation may vary. Some charities will email you the initial receipt while others have the tow truck provide you with the receipt at the time of pick up. This is just an initial receipt and enables you to claim a tax deduction of up to $500. You should check with the charity to find out what their procedure is for providing you with this receipt when you submit your vehicle donation.
In the State of California, the license plates remain with the vehicle, so these should not be removed prior to the pickup.

4. Filing a Release of Liability with the California Department of Motor Vehicles is an important step you do not want to miss when you donate a car. This document releases you from future liability which may arise for any reason after the vehicle is

donated. In California the procedure for filing a Release of Liability is that you must return the pink portion of the title or DMV form REG 138 to your local Department of Motor Vehicles. Alternatively, you can file your release of liability online at http://www.dmv.ca.gov.

If your vehicle sells for more than $500, or if it qualifies for a fair market value tax deduction, you will receive additional tax paperwork after the sale of the vehicle takes place. The amount you will be allowed to deduct on your taxes will vary depending on several factors which could include the price the vehicle is sold for or whether the vehicle is classified as a fair market value car donation.
One last point we should mention is that if you plan to claim your car donation tax deduction on your 2012 taxes, you need to make sure you donate the car well before the deadline of December 31, 2012. The charity should have possession of the vehicle before midnight on December 31st, or at least have the pickup well in the works, in order for you to claim your tax deduction in 2012. Don’t wait till the last minute as there could be delays that could result in you being unable to claim the donation as a deduction for the current tax year.

If you have any further questions related to your car donation tax deduction, most charities are relatively knowledgeable about the process and paperwork needed, however, you should consult a CPA or accountant for specifics regarding your particular tax situation.
If you need more information about car donations in California, you can contact your local DMV or visit the California DMV website for the latest information on state specific requirements and the procedures to follow.

Travel / 2017/2018 List Of Low Tuition Universities In Canada Plus Contact Information by Engineer11985(m): 1:01pm On Nov 25, 2017
Some time ago I prepared an article on low tuition universities in Canada for international students and I got lots of comments and feedback from people. If you have not gone through this article, kindly click here to access it. Today, I want to provide a comprehensive list of universities in Canada with their current tuition fees and contact information. Some schools in Canada are very expensive, but the good news is that, there are cheap and affordable ones where tuition fees range from $5,000 to $10,000 per year. Please note that these figures we will be using in this article are all in Canadian dollars. As at the time of writing this post, 1 Canadian Dollars equals 0.79 United States Dollars. Before I provide a list of low tuition universities in Canada, as always I will like to talk about the cost of living, intake periods, visa requirements and other stuff. So let’s start with cost of living in Canada.

Cost of living in Canada

Cost of living in Canada is a slightly higher than other countries. Students will need approximately $800 to $1200 per month to cover for expenses like accommodation, food, transportation etc. Cities like Vancouver and Calgary are very expensive and you may need to raise your budget to $1500 to be able to live in these cities. As I always say, cost of living is dependent on factors the spending habit of the student and city he/she lives. So don’t allow these big figures scare you. If you are the frugal type, you may live on less.
Let’s break it down…….

Accommodation costs
In Canada, there are many housing options to choose from, and an equally diverse price range. The prices range from $250 to $800 per month as can be seen below:
• Student residences: prices are between $250 – $625 per month
• University-provided home stays usually: rates start from $400 and can lead to $800 per month.
• Share an apartment: $250 – $700 per month, prices for rent depend on location and facilities.

Feeding

Food is not expensive in Canada, expect to spend between $200 to $250 per month for shopping from the local supermarkets and groceries. Some of the cheapest supermarkets you can find all over Canada are Canadian Superstore, Walmart, No Frills.
If you wish to eat in a restaurant, you will have to pay around $10 – $25. A three-course meal for two in a mid-range restaurant will cost $60.

Transportation
Students enrolled in a Canadian university aged between 18 and 25 will benefit from discounts when purchasing the monthly transport pass.
• The total price of a transport pass is $91 per month, while a one-way ticket is worth $3 per month
• Taxis are also a common way of transport all over Canada and fares are between $2 and $6 per/ km.

Admission intake periods

Almost all programs in Canadian institutions have 3 intakes in a year. These three intakes are winter, spring and fall. You will need to contact the school and find out the available intake periods for your program. You can do this by calling or sending a mail to the admissions department. Remember that you need to apply as early as possible, for instance, if your program intake period is by January (winter), ensure that you apply 6 to 8 months in advance so you will have enough time to process your visa.

Work while studying
International students are allowed to work while studying in Canada. You can work up to 20 hours per week during regular academic sessions, and full time during scheduled breaks (for example, winter and summer holidays, and spring break). A work permit does not guarantee that you will find a job. It is your responsibility to look for work. Even if you work off campus, your studies must be the main reason you are in Canada.

Your interview could fasten or delay your visa processing. Therefore, it is crucial that you prepare for the student visa interview and address all concerns of the visa officer.

The interview is taken by the ambassador or visa officer who may ask you a range of questions mainly to ensure that your application case is genuine and your intentions align with what is being written in the application form. The officer is a trained professional, who could ask multiple unrelated questions, not to annoy you but to know your real interests and objectives. If you are prepared, you can enjoy this process and meeting with someone who opens the door of a new country for you.

Note: Here, I will be using the UK as a case study, but the information will be helpful in obtaining visa to other countries like, the US, Poland, Australia, Poland, Ukraine, Germany,Russia,Austria etc.

The following are some of the important questions that the ambassador asks during the interview for the student visa

1. Why did you choose this university and how did you find it?

Tip: You should go through the website and handbook of your university carefully. Pen down some highlighted features such as World ranking, the research facility, the faculty profile, Alumni profile etc. Visa officer wants to know the reason behind joining the particular University. You should also mention the reason how you learned about the university.

This University is ranked highly especially in my field of study. I learned about this university while surfing on the net and then visited their official website to get more information about the university. I really got impressed with their Faculty profile and the course curriculum. The curriculum was very much similar to what I want to study.

2. Why did you select the UK for higher studies? Isn’t this course offered by any university or college in your country?

Tip: You should mention the quality of education in the UK . If the course is not available in your home country, you can tell the VO that it is not offered in your country. If the same course is available in your country, highlight the differences in the quality of education and the course structure in your country and UK. You should convince the VO that doing this course from UK will add value to your profile. Talk

about a few researches being conducted in that field. Technical words work out when other things don’t.

UK has always been the center of excellence especially in (mention your field here) and provides quality education by making students gain knowledge in a practical way as much as possible, so it is quite an obvious choice for me.

3. Why did you select this course? Is it relevant to your previous studies?

Tip: You should be very clear about your future plans after doing this course. Prepare a good statement mentioning about: How course is relevant to your previous degree, how this course adds value to you profile, why you are interested in doing this course etc.

This course is related to my previous studies and I have got a strong interest in this field.

4. Can you tell me the location of the university/college?

Tip: You should do some research on your university before visa interview. You should know its exact location and the location of different campus as well (if any). Location might be one of the reasons that you selected this particular university, so make sure that you know its exact location.

Yes. You should do some research on your university before visa interview. You should know its exact location and the location of different campus as well (if any).
