Today’s performance actually wasn’t as bad as the last two. Carrick bringing in Rashford as a starter this season killed the team spirit. I don’t know why he threw away a working formulae. Mbeumo up top with Cunha on the left and even Mount or Lacey on the right would’ve been better.

I can remember very clearly how Lammens made a lot of saves last season to keep us in the game. I'm not sure if anybody is debating who is better between Raya and Lammens with you.

Lammens is average for now .l strongly believe he will improve.We are missing del ight in that defence.Nobody was able close down that Everton player before he pull the trigger.Nobody.

Why the Removal of Fuel Subsidy in Nigeria Was the Right Decision — Facts & Figures

On May 29, 2023, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced: “Fuel subsidy is gone.”

Here’s what the data shows since then:

1. The subsidy was fiscally unsustainable
- ₦11.7 trillion was spent on subsidy between 2016 and 2023 under the Buhari administration
- ₦1.828 trillion was spent by NNPCL on subsidies from January to May 2023 alone — 55% higher than the same period in 2022
- 96% of government revenue was going to debt servicing. Subsidy payments were being funded by borrowing
- Subsidies + FX subsidies cost Nigeria ∼5% of GDP before removal

It will be “fiscally irresponsible” to continue subsidy.

2. The money saved is now in government accounts
- ₦1.45 trillion saved between June and September 2023 alone
- ₦1 trillion saved in June and July 2023 alone
- ₦15.8 trillion generated for the Federation between June 2023 and December 2025 from subsidy + FX reforms
- ₦5.4 trillion to the FG
- ₦10.4 trillion to States and LGs
- ₦20.4 trillion in total incremental resources for the FG within that period

Where it went:
₦9.39tn on wages and new minimum wage, ₦9.37tn on external debt servicing, ₦6.5tn on strategic infrastructure.

The FG has committed to publishing full details on how these savings have been spent.

3. How “few people” were duping Nigeria with subsidy

The subsidy system created massive loopholes for fraud:

1. Inflated consumption figures: Claimed daily PMS consumption was inflated from “barely 35 million litres to 60 million litres”
2. Fake volumes & payments: In 2022, ₦4.39tn was claimed as subsidy. Analysis shows either the subsidy was ₦240/litre, or NNPCL “shortchanged Nigerians of 3.843 billion litres” — about 57 days of reserves
3. NNPC monopoly: After 2015, subsidy became “strictly an NNPC issue,” shutting out competitors. NNPC became the sole importer and sole beneficiary
4. Smuggling: Cheap subsidized petrol was diverted to neighboring countries where prices were higher. The subsidy “benefitted smugglers”
5. Fraud & inflated claims: Official probes repeatedly documented inflated and fraudulent claims. Even President Buhari called subsidy “fraud” and “non-existent” in 2015

NNPCL later reported ₦7.1 trillion in “energy security expenses” which critics described as subsidy “in disguise.”

4. Other benefits cited by government
- Stopped borrowing for subsidy: Without reform, incremental borrowing of ₦11.9tn would have been even higher
- Higher revenue to States: States and LGs received ₦10.4tn of the ₦15.8tn, leading to record allocations nationwide.
- Investor confidence: The IMF and World Bank praised the reform as “long-awaited economic discipline”
- Ended distortion: Subsidy disproportionately benefited the wealthy thieves and distorted public finances

5. The pain vs the argument
- Petrol price rose by ∼514%, from ₦175 to ₦900
- Inflation hit historic highs
- The FG’s position: this was a “temporary decline in real incomes” but necessary to prevent fiscal collapse

Bottom line
The subsidy regime was consuming trillions, funding smugglers and fraudulent claims, and pushing Nigeria deeper into debt.

Its removal created ₦15.8 trillion in fiscal space in 30 months — money now funding wages, debt, and infrastructure instead.

The current debate to bring subsidy back is largely driven by those who profited from the old system — the same people who milked the nation dry, they are now using enablers to promote it return to continue their madness crimility.

How can fewer than a hundred people share almost ₦2 trillion in just 5 months through a fake subsidy? A system that caused Nigerians so much pain, death, and underdevelopment, while a few lived large — flying private jets daily, stealing our resources while sleeping in London, and cashing out subsidy money in Abuja the next morning, using our common wealth to build estates and fortune for themselves and their children.

Enough is enough. Subsidy is gone.

This is Nigeria’s story — not foreign logic with no basis in our reality.
