opposition to d movement of 1 layer of d fluid ova d oda and less
friction means more movement as u shld know
datz y engine oil wich iz more viscous dan water ..flows much slower dan

and water wch iz much less viscous dan angine oil flows very much faster
now u knw dat less viscosity causes more movement ..imagine where der iz

and dat z wat i am sayin, normally, layers of a fluid move over each oda, d only fin dah viscosity does z 2 slow down dis movement nd try 2 prevent d sinkin or mixin of a foreign material in d fluid......

force ?[/quote]i might say yes, because friction and gravity are 2 forces dat makes an object stay @ rest or reduce its chances of movement......friction occurs between 2 surfaces in contact, viscosity as well occurs btwn layers of d fluid which are also in contact.....u cant try 2 move an object wifawt overcomin d frictional force, dat z because 4 an object 2 move, 2 surfaces must always b in contact, either d floor, air, etc......daz y i keep referrin 2 newton's 1st law wich states dat 'an object will continue in its state of rest or uniform motion, provided an xternal force z nt present'.....d xternal forces now are friction and viscosity. both oppose motion of solids and fluids, even a layman lukin @ dis xplanation will xay dat since dey prevent motion, den dere absence will enhance motion.....av u even plotted a graph 2 c wat im tokin abt

Dnt get urself confused with motion, reaction, friction & viscosity.[/quote]i think u shud go back 2 ur books.......viscosity affects d speed at which a fluid flows....4 example mercury has a high viscosity as well as syrup and dats y dey flow slowly........water has one of d lowest viscosities n flows very fast.....if u luk @ it den u wud c dat d higher d viscosity, d lower d speed.....thus viscosity is inversely proportional 2 speed......if water has a low viscosity and flows dat fast den imagine hw it will flow without viscosity.......d only fin z dah wen, dere z no viscosity, d terminal velocity will b attained immediately a foreign material enters d non viscous fluid
