.... I jux wanted to quote him wrong before U did! Newton's 3rd law states that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction! For there to be motion (a forward movement) in a liquid, there must also be viscosity(a backward force).... Viscosity therefore determines movement (strictly in fluids, ie liquid and gas), as wel as d depth to which various objects sink in them. It also determines d thickness of liquids!
