3idiots: Some of you should try to write better, stop giving people headache with your write up. Your sister's life is probably as messed up as your English. However, I don't have anything to say to you, for all I care, most stories here are fake. You just cook up stories everyday on Nairaland to get attention, I wonder why though, because you can't enjoy the attention, since this is a faceless forum. You talk like someone suffering from extreme brain disorder or maybe mental down syndrome. Is it that the story can never happen or the guy is just trying to get attention. None of the above should be your buisness. All in the name of cruise una dey kill people stylishly tearing down their ego and self esteem. You really need to work on yourself. |

Business › Re: How Much Do I Need To Start A Danfo Business?? by Enifloxy(m): 12:55am On Jan 13, 2021 |
Yusufisraelj: Transportation business is very lucrative, having done one before. It earns you money daily.
However your location (place of business) should inform your returns. In the North it's 20K per week, extreme cases 35K per week for town service but in Lagos its almost twice for a small 14 seater bus, maintenance cost should be on the driver, except for Major changes like engine...
Having said that, the main challenge is finding a reliable driver who would maintain and remit as agreed. So I will advise that you buy the vehicle, do clearance, get it road worthy and up the vehicle for a premium I.e if you spent 1 million for everything, bargain for 1.7 Million in return for a period of 1 year on the driver, this way he pays about 33K weekly for a year and the vehicle turns his. That way he sees the vehicle as his and treats it with extra care, while you make a 70% profit on the business far above 13.4% the inflammation rate in the country.
More importantly is the type of vehicle you purchase, 700K should get you a clean tokumbo with perfect engine, again here you need the help of a good mechanic and auto dealer.
As per government clearance, that's cheap and easy. 700k first of all cannot get you a toks danfo. You should be looking at 2m for a clean toks. Apart from that every other analysis is on point. |
Travel › Re: Canada Hype And Travel Rush: Here Are Things You Need To Know by Enifloxy(m): 2:15pm On Jan 11, 2021 |
Princewill1: The high successes recorded by dubious politicians, fraudulent pastors and ponzi scheme operators in Nigeria are living proofs that Nigerians can be so gullible. We can easily be deceived. The astronomical hype on Canada is the latest deceit in town. Here are things you need to know before immigrating.
1. The list of richest Nigerians is filled with Nigerians living at home. You're more likely to make it into Forbes if you live in Nigeria. At least that's what the stat shows, whether people making into Forbes in Nigeria are engaging in corrupt practices is a story for another day. The odds of becoming a dollar billionaire favours those at home . No Diaspora Nigerian has ever made it into Forbes billionaire list.
2. There are more money to be made in a developing economy than in a developed economy. That's why as you're rushing out of the country, Lebanese, Indians and Chinese are rushing in. Only few will understand. You're sitting on the biggest market in Africa yet you haven't realize this but the Lebanese and the Indians knew this.
3. If you are the type who don't fancy working for others, it's much more easier to own a business in Nigeria than in Canada/US. Western countries were set up for the 99% populace to work for 1% elites. Their education systems were designed to produce workforce for the rat race. Not to create employers of labour.
4. It's stupidity to resign from a high-paying job in Nigeria in a bid to relocate to Canada/US. Your eyes will get clear up when you start facing the hard realities in Canada. Those who had made this mistake in the past are ashamed to come on social media to talk about it. The ones talking on Twitter are 'freshers' who just arrived.
5. If you want to secure 2nd passport for your kids, you don't necessarily need to immigrate to achieve this. There are other ways, one method is overseas child birth.
6. You're 5x more likely to be shot and rubbed in New York than in Lagos. Poor neighborhoods all over the world has more crime rates. The thing is, when you finally made it in Nigeria, you can move to high brow areas with lesser crime.
7. Nigerians are spending up to 8millions ($21k) and above to immigrate to Canada/US whereas an average canadian or American citizen can't boast of $10k in their bank A/C's. They live pay check to pay check.
8. Some Nigerians claims that they ain't relocating because of the money but because of good infrastructure, good health care system, value for their money etc. That's a lie! 98% of Nigerians who're eager to travel out are relocating because of economic reasons. There are good infrastructure, good health care system and value for money in countries like Kuwait, Russia, Brazil, South Korea, Chile etc but Nigerians ain't trooping there, indicating that their preference for Canada/US is purely based on economic reasons.
9. It's cheaper to live in Nigeria. Canada/US promises higher minimum wage but the system will still take it away from you. It's like giving you with one hand and taking from you with another. $2k (N760k) will pay for your one year rent of 2 bedrooms apartment in a good location in Nigeria but same amount will only fetch you one month rent of a match box apartment in Canada/US.
10. This is not to stop you from traveling out but to inform you on the true realities. Economic immigration should be left for lower or working class who're struggling or to young lads who wants to school abroad and thereafter further their career overseas. Not to deceive Nigerians already earning good in corporate offices in Nigeria to resign and relocate where they will be employed as security guards or to deceive business owners who's businesses are thriving in Nigeria to close down business and relocate. Don't let them deceive you with the hype. Money don't grow on trees anywhere in the world. Your number 2, have you seen the business they open? The Lebanese e.t.c u mentioned. To start a small scale buisness in nigeria u need up to 2million naira. How will u save when your salary is 70k per month with transport on a high side, tin tomato 150 and a de rica of rice at 550. Pls I don't want to get upset. I can continue the analysis but..... |

Otisker: Wish me a happy birthday. I am officially an adult today but am not excited because I have had the privilege of being in this forum and I have read wild across the internet since I was around 12 which made me realize that adult life is not easy. I am scared of the future.
I have acquired much knowledge that is beyond my age such that those knowledge are now becoming harmful to me. Sometimes when I speak among people especially my villagers they think am crazy. My emotion is even getting messed up because I worry a lot about things people my age mates wouldn't think of.
For example, I have read the 48 laws of power and am always consciously keeping my behaviours in check even in trivial situations and I always feel bad when I make a mistake in checking my behaviour.
My latest problem now is my relationship. I am dating a minor, a girl of 15. Normally people that are my age don't don't who a minor is, they don't it is a crime to have sex with a minor since the person is not old enough to make important decisions but I do. Now, I can't convince my self to have sex with her and at the same time I am scared because I know I will be deeply hurt if another careless person takes her virginity. I am also aware of the psychological effect that will make a girl stick with the person that took her virginity.
All these and many more which I am unable to type here are making me an unhappy person and causing my pursuit of education to slacken. I wish I was never exposed to mobile phones and the internet at such an early stage. Your greatest mistake is reading that book 48 laws of power. But I sense you must be an intelligent person. Only advice to you is to calm down and take things easy, go and learn a skill, not I.T based but vocation like handwork. Quit reading books on character development for now. And honest truth is your calibre of person shouldn't date, and if at all you do you must be age mates or a bit older than you which you based on culture and general belief might not like, so it's better you avoid it. BUT TRUST ME YOU'LL BE FINE JUST DON'T RUSH THINGS. |

22yrs: At 22, So i find myself more attractive to older ladies. Have dated 3 ladies that were about 3yrs older than me. In fact older women always have a way of attracting me to them.
No regrets about them, they were good ladies and unfortunately they had to marry The older a woman get the more mature she tends to act. I have been there b4, although I'm not married and not into any relationship I often find older girls more fun to be with. Majority of them have got a lot of experience in life and they seem fun to be with. It's not all about sex when opposite sex move together most of the time is companionship. I cant move with a lady that has a shallow way of reasoning that's a huge turn off for me. So the OP maybe feels this way, never can tell!!! |

JustJosh24: Dear esteemed knowledgeable gurus, please kindly assist me with your advise. I am about to buy a Toyota Camry 2007 an I don't know if I'm making a good choice for my first ever car. I just need a good car that can take me from point A to point B, with little intercity trips. I'm not concerned about the speed cos I don't ever intend going beyond 120km/h that's I ever get to that. Please advise if the Toyota Camry 2007 is OK for fuel consumption, maintainance and preferably the 4cylinders as I'm not an acceleration freak or a speed freak.......... I also have the Sienna in mind but my wife says she doesn't like it. Pls is the Toyota Camry 2007 worth it? Also, what are the likely issues common with the Camry 07.
Thanks alot It's a nice car. Quite easy to maintain and consumes less fuel. But if you going for a Nigerian used, I advise you quit that thought. Instead go a the big daddy 2005 to 2006 models. |

If you cannot afford to get the car I suggest you keep quiet. If you can buy it or you wanna give to someone as you claim, price reasonably and not adding jokes to it. And if you feel you are to big and drive an expensive car the respect the hell out of yourself and stop making people feel bad. Hello nairalanders,
I'm currently working on getting a ride for uber business. I dont like the Corolla cause it's over rated, it's too common and I'm a tall person so I'm no so comfortable in it. I used a corolla in my previous company for two years so I know to an extent about it.
The 2007 Camry or the Camry big daddy are the options I have in mind. Now my question: 1) I'm I making a wise decision as to the choice of car considering that Corolla has been stated best for uber. 2) if it's okay to skip the Corolla which of the two Camry is better?
Humble suggestions pls. |

Tragedy struck on the eve of local government council election in Lagos State as a PSP truck crushed a chairmanship aspirant of the Ikotun/Igando Local Council Development Area to death.
The deceased, Shakiru Balogun, aka SAB, was a former Chairman, National Union of Local Government Employees of the LCDA and a member of the All Progressives Congress. He couldn’t clinch the party’s ticket at the primaries.
Saturday PUNCH learnt that the aspirant was going to the council secretariat around 12pm on Friday when the driver of the PSP truck lost control of the truck and rammed it into Balogun’s Toyota 4runner at Okofili Bus Stop, LASU-Isheri Road.
An eyewitness, Fadeyi Daisi, said 52-year-old Balogun died on the spot.
He added, “The PSP driver fled the scene, but I don’t know if he was later arrested by the police. It was very tragic. The door of the sport utility vehicle was cut with a saw before emergency officials could extricate his body.”
A resident of Abu Taiwo Street, Afolabi Bus Stop, Akesan, where Balogun lived, Joshua Ogundipe, said the incident had thrown the community into mourning.
Ogundipe added, “He accepted defeat at the primaries in good faith. He was going to the office when the incident happened. He is survived by two wives and four children. He had been buried according to Islamic rite.”
A sympathiser, Oyejobi Olakunle, described SAB’s death as a colossal loss.
“What a great loss to our entire generation. Your indelible mark lives on. #SobbingMode#
WhatAgreatLoss,” Olakunle wrote on Facebook.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole could not be reached for comments.
