actually porting is a nice idea as it drives competition between networks and lots of improvement.
i was at etisalat and a lot of mtn users are porting to etisalat, while airtel is receiving people from glo. this would make network providers sit up and provide better service.
MNP just drives a healthier competition and makes the companies wanna sit up their game.

using modules and classes (OOP) makes team programming easier.
i've worked in such a team before and we all had to write our modules and had a chief programmer to put them together, then having a project manager is an added advantage.

its possible to create a forum from scratch, just that most people are lazy in doing so. i succeeded in creating a php forum from scratch and adapted it to a module for my school project. if people are really interested we could just team up to have this designed.
