Good day fellow investors, I've been following the insightful comments on this thread and I must commend everyone.
But pls I need to know if these banks have investment houses where one can go to apply for t.bills or do I just walk straight to any bank Branch( for eg any zenith bank Branch if I am to use zenith), and apply for it?
Your comments and any additional info is highly appreciated.
Thanks

walk into any bank branch and tell them you wanna buy TBills.
Investment / Re: Mutual Funds by enque(f): 6:12pm On Mar 30
if the credit was done after 12pm, then you'd get value on Tuesday morning.
cut-off time for same day settlement of stanbic mmf is 12noon, any payments after 12 reflect on the next working day.

For those who have invested in the secondary market, were you paid the interest upfront just like it's done in primary market

Or is everything held (capital + interest) till the end of the tenor?
I opted to reinvest my interest and then get everything back at the end of the tenor

Tbills sec market Investment One.

The first interest rate is when you opt for interest upfront, the other is at maturity and the last is tenure

sorry to ask this but how is investment one able to do 23.58%?
Investment / Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by enque(f): 11:22am On Mar 07
depends on the bank tho

Odunharry:

Secondary tbills rate is even higher than that.

Are you sure it's not secondary tbills you bought?

farydah:

Mine was successful but I put in 5m for 364 days and I was credited 745k there abouts. However, my certificate came with the rates at 15.5% and the tenor 354 days or so. Am I missing something??

What did Stanbic post? Axa mansard is also doing 11.59 at a time when fixed deposits have gone to 13%

Seriously considering moving my funds away if the rates don't improve.

Stanbic posted 11.73%
Investment / Re: Mutual Funds by enque(f): 6:03pm On Feb 15
Biko where is the 11.73% cos I am seeing 11.19 on my app

emmasoft:

Here is my preference as per mutual funds:
MMF - Stanbic MMF curreently 11.73%
Dollar fund - Norrenbeger currently 9.2% (They accept less than $1000 and could accept cash at the point of deposit)
Fixed income fund - SFS Capital currently 11.02%

Attention: Investors in SFS Fixed Income Fund who Used my Link

Thank you for supporting my ministry.
Your patronage is much appreciated and never taken for granted.

If you have opened an account and have not yet funded, you can do so with as little as N5,000, and your interest will start accruing.

Please note that after you verify your BVN kindly generate your virtual account number.
This will enable you to have a personalized account number such that as you deposit into it, the money goes straight to your investment there is no waiting time.

You can also give your virtual/personalized account number to a 3rd party and once money is transferred into the account, it goes straight to your investment. This can be helpful if you don't want to spend the particular money you are expecting, in that case, you can give your virtual account number to the source of the cash e.g a debtor or even your company. You don't even need any description. Once you use your virtual account, it's treated as your personal bank account only that the content always goes to your investment directly.

When generated, it's normally a Wema, sterling, or Providus bank account in most cases.

As usual, I'm always available for any further clarification if needed. See my contact details on my signature.

Av bn trading with Stanbic bank but recently I don't understand them again. The last time they lost their FGN bond bid in December nd dey couldn't buy FGN bond for me in the secondary market by posting me for a week after I choose the tenor I want from available list sent to me nd I even fund my stockbroking account. My account officer number is switch off since December 15th 2023 till now nd I can only bid tru him in the primary market nd yet they didn't change him for me after several calls and mails.

Is there any alternative or chance with this meristem? What's are the dos and don't with meristem? How secured are they? Pls walk me through this meristem stuff.

Been using meristem since 2019 and so far, no issues.
I can give you my contact's email/number so you speak with her. She is usually very thorough in terms of details.

I had this same issue with stanbic. I checked my balance on 31st night and then on checking again in January, I saw a totally different figure.
Downloaded the statement from the app, but it didn't contain the balances so it was hard to reconcile the figures. I had to log in to web to get a more detailed statement before I got clarity.

for now, I'm keeping a close eye on the account.
Doesn't even help that the app doesn't allow screenshots.
Investment / Re: Mutual Funds by enque(f): 5:27pm On Jan 08
I'd advice you use the statement from the web and not the one from the app. That of the webpage is more detailed

freeman67:

Good afternoon House, if you are using Stanbic IBTC Asset Management be sure to regularly keep your records and Statements of account, please. I log in to my app almost every day and I see what happens there always. I checked daily throughout the holiday period because I wanted to add to my subscription but I did not generate and keep the statements.

I discovered my that the interest on my MMF account was debited in on 31 December 2023 but not credited to my account or reinvested. I sent them a mail in that regard but they did not reply so I had to call them.

They picked my call and couldn't tell me anything tangible than it was they credited me twice and this had to debit me. When I informed her that same happened in my other MMF account, she said it happened to all their MMF account. I instead mine was not correct from my observation and she asked for the proof/evidence that I don't have.

Also, last week made a deposit that was to be credited to my MMF account last week, the money was credited to my GIF account instead. That was their mistake not mine. Instead of them to just say sorry and rectify the problem, the kept lying and insisting that I made the payment to GIF collection account that was they credited it there. However, the transaction receipt is with me. On the receipt, my MMF account number is clearly stated in the Narration space and I rightly sent the money to MMF collection account. Mistakes are normal but why would you lie and insist on something you are not sure about instead of just rectifying the mistake.

I used to enjoy their services but now, I don't understand what is happening with them now again. This year, I will be downloading my statement at least monthly to avoid all these stories.

Same problem I have with them, plus their staff and IT service is grossly incompetent, to withdraw your money will become a problem and the customer service will not pick calls, they will allow your credit run out

I am using SFS Funds but their rate is too low (11%)

Left Gtco last year and I haven't looked back. Issues plenty on top my money.
Stanbic n sfs is ok for me for now

I have not followed them since Investment One sold their mutual fund business to them. I think it will be operated just like other MMFs.
I currently do for Stanbic and SFS.

Depending on the rate, which is between 9 to about 12% in the industry you will have about 90k plus some fractions all things being equal.

Gtco claims that their mmf is at 13.51% as at Jan 2nd.
My issue with them was no app to monitor investments
