SS means (short service) this programme is for university graduates,they spend 9months in NDA and are commissioned 2nd lieutenant and not 2nd lieutenant or lieutenant according to grades,it has notin to do with grades,DSS(direct short service),are d ones who re commissioned lieutenant afta spending six mnths in NDA and dis programme is mostly for those who studied professional courses.RC(regular combatant) this programme is for the secondary school graduates who spend five years in NDA frm thermal 1 to thermal 5 and re being commissioned 2nd lieutenant and after six mnths re being commissioned full lieutenant. Then in ur ranking u jumped frm lieutenant colonel to brigadier general,after lieutenant colonel is COLONEL before brigadier general.

pls I will lyk to know d chances of a degree holder of an institution in d Nigeria army n d rank which he will be given if eventually accepted into d army
